    So, quick run down.
Her father fought the orcs back when they were invading Azeroth and under the control/command of the demonic Burning Legion, however many years later after the portals between the worlds were closed the remaining orcs came under the leadership of Thrall, he wanted the "New Horde" to avoid war, for the most part, and live peacefully away from the humans and Alliance. Under the request of a Prophet, Thrall led his horde west to the forgotten continent of Kalimdor, but that same Prophet also led Jaina there with a bunch of humans too, for the purpose to have them fight together against another invasion of the Burning Legion, they worked together with the Night Elves native to Kalimdor as well as the Tauren and Troll natives too, and pushed back the invasion. Now at peace the Horde settled in Durotar and started getting to work on their new home "Orgrimmar" while Jaina settled down the coast from them and created the city state Theramore for her and her people to live peacefully.
Anywho, now comes the father. He sailed to Theramore thinking he needed to save his daughter who'd gone missing, but arrived to see that Jaina was living as, essentially, an ally to the Horde, peacefully. His history with them though was only of war, back when they were under the control of the Burning Legion, so he immediately went full on racist and mustered his forces (Jainas too) to go to war with them again to try wipe them out. Jaina tried her best to explain that they weren't the same Horde but he wouldn't listen, so Thrall told Jaina that the only way it would end is if the horde was wiped out or her dad was killed, she reluctantly stood aside and didn't interfere with Thrall and his horde when they took on her father, Thrall promised to spare as many as her people as he could and in the end the Horde won and her father was killed.
The surviving men under her father returned home, to Kul'Tiras, and told the story from their perspective that Jaina betrayed her dad and let him die (technically not wrong, but the fault was his and not hers), and the song is a story the Kul'Tirans sing about her and her betrayal from their perspective, she's the "Daughter of the sea" in the story.
A long while later a new wharchief of the horde (for many unrelated reasons), Garrosh, who turned out to be fucking mental and an orc supremist, bombed Theramore killing all of Jainas people along with her Apprentice whom she cared deeply for and saw a lot of herself in. This drove her mad to the point where she wanted to wipe out the horde, seeing it as the only solution to stop any further bloodshed. This video is of her returning to Theramore and raising her fathers sunken ship to help the Alliance in their war against the Horde.

@@GalaxyAUS The song is basically Kul'tiran's anthem. It details, in a totally bias and non accurate manner, the death of Jaina's father. According to the song, he left on a voyage chasing after her, fearing that she was under threat from the horde. When he arrived to the new lands, he found "savages" that attacked him and she "stood aside" and did not help him. In actuality, her father was somewhat of a warmonger who wouldn't listen to reason. He knew she wasn't in any danger and she was acting of her own volition and siding with "people" (races of enemy faction) that he hated. He went looking for a fight and expected his daughter to help in the fight... but she didn't, as it went against her beliefs (this was when she still had compassion for the horde, before Theramore was bombed). As a result her father was slain in battle and the blame unrightfully fell upon Jaina. Her people and her Mother hate her because of their distorted view on how events actually unfolded, but her mother eventually realizes what happened and tells Jaina she's sorry for treating her badly and that she (Jaina) couldn't save for father from himself.

In the First Great War her brother was killed by the old Demonic Horde by an orc on a dragon.
In the intermediate time of Warcraft The Frozen Throne Orgrimmar is established and being build (basically the orc campaign was run like an early version of WoW) but her father full of wrath and anger over the death of his son, basically took over control from Jaina (he pretty much forced her out) but he was unwilling to listen to her, that the Horde of Thrall is not the same Horde as the one he fought. The song is from the perspective of the Kul Tirans. What they knew at the time was that Admiral Proudmoore (Daelin, Jaina's dad) was killed by the Horde and that Jaina refused to help him. And so they branded her traitor.
Daelin had a history of deadly encounters with the Horde back in the Second War and grew to hate them bitterly. Jaina, having seen what Thrall and his version of the Horde were about, had a different outlook. She and her dad argued, with Daelin warning her that the Horde's true nature was vile and could not be trusted.
Thrall decided that Daelin could not be allowed to live if the Horde was to be safe in their newly founded nation. He asked if Jaina was OK with that. She simply said that she would not impede him. And so the Horde killed Daelin at Theramore.
After years of unrest within the Horde, Jaina grew to understand Daelin's warning and she set off on a bit of soul searching. She decided that her dad was right ("I am listening now, father...") and that it was time to give people something to truly "beware" of.
This is an example of Warcraft's overarching theme of old hatreds and vengeance that permeate the Horde and Alliance's conflicts.

This Cinematic is probadly the most cryptic cinematic in wow lore becouse if u wanna know the true reson why her ppl hate her and why they believe she is a traitor it is never properly shown in wow anywhere. This whole cinematic is a flashback to Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne´s bonus campaign.
In that campaign u play as an Orc/Ogre hybrid caracter named Rexxar that have a bear pet named Misha. As u start u come across Thrall in the very early stages of the developments of the now named city of Orgrimmar. Thrall welcomes u and as u do quests eventually small orc camps are getting attacked and u find out it is Admiral Daelin Proudmoore (Jainas father) that are attacking them. Thrall and the horde now free from the demon blood corruption of the past wants nothing to do with war and just wants a home but Daelin still sees them as bloodthirsty monsters and refuse to stop attacking orc camps. At this point Thrall and Jaina are good friends and Jaina is begging her father to stop the attacks several times explaining this is not the same horde he fought but he refuses to listen to her. Eventually Thrall has hade enough and tells Jaina that if your father dosent stop then i will be forced to take actions to guarantee the safety of my ppl. Jaina realises that her father is beyond reson and accepts what Thrall must do and asks him to spare as many soldiers as possable as Daelin will ofc use them agains him. Thrall then invades Theramore with u controlling Rexxar and a few other big named caracters that joined u along the campaign. U eventully fight your way to Admiral Daelin Proudmoore and kill him. After this Thrall declares that Orgrimmar is now safe and will leave the city and its ppl alone to mourn the Admiral. This is the true story of what happened but as u might guess the lossing side dident take it very well and they pretty mutch blamed the whole thing on Jaina Proudmoore becouse she did not fight for her ppl. (As far as they know) Jaina did everything humanly possable to stop her father from starting this conflict and in the end she was branded a traitor by her own ppl and sentanced to death by SPOILER. I dont know if u have watched these yet but if u havent these 3 cinematics will put some of these words into context.

During the Third War Jaina led the Alliance refugees to Kalimdor and formed a peace agreement with the new Horde under Thrall. Daelin Proudmoore came searching for her afterwards and upon finding the Horde promptly began to attack them. Jaina pleaded with her father to stop, trying to get him to understand that this was not the Horde he fought in the Second War and they were at peace; but Daelin's blind hatred did not allow him to accept such a notion. When Rexxar helped the Horde solidify their new home in Durotar he, Thrall, and Cairne Bloodhoof approached Jaina about this aggression.
In the end for the sake of maintaining Peace Jaina opened the gates to Theramore and let the Horde in so they could kill Daelin on the promise of minimizing casualties; which they did and Rexxar killed her father himself. Ever since Jaina was branded a traitor to her homeland; and unfortunately for her that peace she sacrificed her father for would not last much longer. This and many other events have plagued Jaina with survivor's guilt and has led her down a path of extreme violence for a time even, it was only recently in BFA that Jaina has begun to come to terms with her anger and hatred; but her guilt still haunts her.

The Betrayal kinda happened on the events of RTS game Warcraft 3 The frozen throne.... (like 20 years ago)
The short version was mentioned in the song blaming Jaina as the betrayer.
But The Long Version was Jaina and a few of her people fled Human Kingdoms to the land of Kalimdor and worked together with their former enemies, the orcs and the night elves to stop the Demonic Invasion.
Her father The admiral followed her there found their enemies living in Peace with humans.
He took station at Jaina's new home town Theramore... begun slaughtering every orcs he sees in the vicinity.
The Orc warchief (Thrall) warns her that they are going to take a revenge. Jaina tried to talk her father down, he refused and the orcs invaded her city and killed her father.
This is what happened and the people from her Birthplace branded her as traitor and she was abandoned by her own people. And this song was made to beware of her trechery.

Very good video ! And the story (in the very main line) is that she betrayed her father for the horde (yes really): Many years before BFA she had joined kalimdor (where she created theramore) with loarderon survivors (loarderon destroyed by Arthas and the Scourge) and here she met thrall and his horde (and Tyrande and the night elves), they fought the legion together and the three nations became friends (more or less) ! But after that story jaina's father (Daelin) arrived from Kul'tiras to help and save her, but he will discover his daughter an ally of his enemies (the orc was soldiers for the burning legion (they was their slaves soldiers more exactly) before): He take Theramore and attack the horde (He hated them and, because of that, he refused to believe her daughter when she said they only wanted peace). Thrall and his nation had no choice: They came and kill Daelin (Rexxar did it) with the "help" of Jaina: to ensure peace with the Horde she betrayed him. You can found easily the story on the web my explanation it's with no spoilers (or not many lol) and the story is playable on "Warcraft III" (reign of chaos for the story about Jaina Thrall and Tyrande, frozen throne for Daelin death, reforged for all story I heard but I'm not sure). Jaina's dad did nothing wrong. Even before the Legion corrupted them, the Orcs were a brutal, bloody race, who valued combat above all else. They need to be quelled, destroyed. It was only through thrall that a tiny percent of Orcs became decent people, so it is completely understandable that Jaina's father tried to kill them all, yet it is also understandable that Jaina tried to save them. It's a tragedy with no happy ending, and the Horde to this day is an evil faction with good people within.

It happened in Warcraft 3 but essentially there was this Horde settlement called Durotar that was trying to forge a new path after the Horde and Alliance came together to fight the Burning Legion. Thrall and Jaina had a good working relationship which could have led to lasting peace between the Horde and Alliance. Her dad wouldn't listen to reason and warred with the Orcs despite the truce.
Blizzard has a habit of writing good characters turning evil. A little setup (I apologize if I screw this up as my memory is a bit hazy), Jaina is the daughter of Admiral Daelin and Katherine Proudmoore, the rulers of a nation called Kul Tiras. During her youth, Jaina has a courtship with a little someone called Arthas (who turned into the Lich King). During the scourge/undead invasion, the town of Stratholme becomes infected by the undead plague. Arthas decides the only solution is to slaughter everyone in the city (since they will turn into an undead horde). Jaina doesn't want any part of the mass killing of the entire city and leaves him. Arthas culls the city of Stratholme and continues down his dark path and eventually turns into the Lich King, of which Jaina feels responsible for due to leaving him.
Continue on and Jaina has fled to Kalimdor and has established the the town of Theramore. Even though the Horde and the Alliance have been at each others throats for years, Jaina creates a peaceful coexistence with the Horde and their (at the time) leader Thrall. At this point it wasn't clear to Jaina's parents (Admiral Daelin and Katherine Proudmoore) that she was alive. When Admiral Daelin found out she was alive, he set sail from Kul Tiras to Kalimdor. Upon reaching Kalimdor, Admiral Daelin found that his sworn enemy, the Horde, had setup shop and decided to wipe out the Horde. Jaina pleaded for her father not to attack as she had brought peace between Humans and the Horde. Admiral Daelin hated the Horde and ignored Jaina (Admiral Daelin's eldest son, and Jaina's brother, had been killed by the Horde during one of the numerous wars). Admiral Daelin sent word to the Alliance to ask for reinforcements to crush the Horde once and for all. The Alliance was still reeling from all of their losses from the scourge invasion and the various wars with the Horde so they decided to bow out. Admiral Daelin was still hell bent on wiping the Horde out so he continued with his plan. To stop her father (and save the peace she had created), Jaina let the Horde know that her father was going to attack and stepped aside as the Horde launched a suprise attack on Daelin's forces. Admiral Daelin and his army are wiped out by the Horde. The nation of Kul Tiras is furious that their leader is killed (and his army wiped out) and decide to leave the Alliance and cut itself off from everyone.
Fast forward even further and tensions between the Alliance and Horde have ratcheted up once again. Jaina continues to try to be the peacemaker but it becomes more and more difficult. While not officially joining the Alliance in their war upon the Horde, Jaina does let them use the city of Theramore as a harbor while continuing to seek peace between the two. At this point, the leadership of the Horde has changed from Thrall (who Jaina worked with initially to establish peace) to Garrosh. Garrosh is just a bit more warlike and isn't interested in listening to peace overtures. Even though Theramore is more or less a neutral party, he sees the city allowing Alliance vessels to make port as an act of war. To remove this, he basically drops the equivalent of a nuke on Theramore, wiping it out. Jaina's city is decimated. Although many were evacuated before the bomb fell, many still died (including some of her friends and her apprentice).
Jaina is pissed now. She worked for years to create the city of Theramore and a peaceful coexistence with the Horde and the Horde nuked it into oblivion. She allowed the Horde to murder her father and her countrymen and the thanks she gets is her city turned to ash. She is fueled by rage and the guilt of Arthas turning into the Lich King, the guilt of the death of her father and the Kul Tiran army, and the guilt of those that died in Theramore.
Jaina decides to go wipe out the Horde capitol of Orgrimmar but is stopped by Thrall (the previous Horde leader who she had struck her peace deal with). Although stopped in her plan to destroy Ogrimmar, Jaina is still raging at the Horde and is still crushed by all of that guilt.
And this is where the Warbringer: Jaina cinematic kind of takes off from. The song starts out in the bombed out remnants of Theramore and talks through her betrayal of her farther and the Kul Tiran people.
In the end, she says to her father's ghost that she is listening now, understanding how he saw the horde.
I think that is mostly right. Obviously the Horde side probably tells a bit of a different story in how this all plays out but to have a foundation for the Jaina cinematics, it probably only matters from her point of view.

Jaina Proudmore didn't betray her father. She had built a town with peaceful and equitable relations with the orcs and the horde. Her father had sailed to find her and when he did he couldn't let go of the blind hatred he'd built for them. She tried to talk him out of attacking them, and he betrayed her hard-won accord with them by forcing battle upon them. Without her direct support, he lost and was slain in the fighting. After that she became a member state of the Alliance, but one which spoke more fore peace between the two factions. Kul-Tiras, not knowing the truth of the matter, condemned her for a traitor and withdrew from the Alliance. Years later, due to repeated machinations by the worst elements of the Horde, she finally "broke " and became very pro-war against them. But she never was able to shake the ghosts of the past, and this video was about that. She has a major storyline in BfA built around this.

Well about Jaina and the song. The story is significantly more complex than daddy did bad and the daughter abandoned him that I have seen other say to reactors that don't have all the facts.
First of all, the humans, dwarves and elves of the alliance have fought two major wars against the Orcs when they where under the influence of the demons. During those wars, the Orcs committed major war crimes against the humans, elves and dwarves, and none of those aforementioned people trusted that the Orcs would change their ways anytime soon.
At the end of the second war (Warcraft 2 RTS game), there were many voices that called for the systematic eradication of the Orc population, meaning genocide, and it was almost passed, that was how much the people of all races hated the Orcs. The one that stopped this and offered the alternative of the concentration camps was one Admiral Daelin Proudmoore, Jaina's father and Admiral of the Kul Tiran fleet (Kul Tiran is an island nation and a member of the Alliance) and a hero of the Second War.
Now, Admiral Proudmoore had plenty of reason to hate the Orcs. Not only they were responsible for many casualties to his fleet, people, and the Alliance as a whole, they had also killed both his sons during the War. So, from this you can infer that he wasn't an unreasonable man. Though he hated them with a passion, he was the one that saved the Orcs from extinction.
Fast forward to the end of Warcraft 3 RTS game. The Orcs, free at last from the demonic influence, have allied with the Night Elves and Jaina's faction in Calimdor to fight the Demonic invasion, that's a whole other story here that I don't have the time to present. They honor that alliance and after defeating Archimonde, the then leader of the Burning Legion, they start building their capital of Orgrimmar, while maintaining friendly relations with Jaina that had built the city state of Theramore.

Admiral Proudmoore was still in Kul Tiras defending it from the undead of Arthas, but was searching also for his daughter. He heard about Theramore and that his daughter was in Kalimdor, so he decided to prepare an expedition force to go to her and learn what she has being doing all this time.
When he arrived at Kalimdor, he found Orcs building a forward base near Theramore. You must understand that when the Orcs left Lordaeron they didn't leave in peace. They broke out of their concentration camps, killed the guards and nearby garrison force, looted the countryside for supplies and hit a naval base in order to gain the ships they needed to travel to Kalimdor. Knowing all this, and remembering the destruction these invaders had wrought during the previous two wars, and not knowing that these Orcs had an alliance with the people of Theramore, he ordered a preemptive attack on the Orcs fearing they would attack his countrymen at Theramore.
That led to an escalation of hostilities. The Orcs didn't want to start a war against the Humans, but they needed to defend themselves, but Admiral Proudmoore entered Theramore and assumed control of the city with his forces, ready to hunt down the Orcs. Jaina tried to stop her father telling him that she had an alliance with Thrall and that there was no need for war, but Daelin didn't believe for a second that the Orcs could be trusted. They had, after all, betrayed them before, during the previous two wars and also when they escaped and looted the countryside and the naval base at Lordaeron.
And so, ignoring his daughter's warning, he continued the war. He lost, when Jaina, fearing that the war would destroy her city and harm her people, decided to meet in secret with Thrall and agreed to withdraw all her forces and leave her father with only his own forces to face the Orcs only asking that he try to minimize the damage and try to spare her father if possible. Thrall did try to spare the Admiral, but he, blinded by his hatred, fought to the end and he was killed.
So you see, he wasn't a warmongering asshole as some might present him. He simply had no trust for these people that had betrayed and harmed his people and family again and again. Hell, his stance was justified if you take into consideration that these Orcs did attack and killed the people of Lordaeron when leaving. By his account and knowledge, these people couldn't be trusted to keep their word. He even warns Jaina that they would betray her in the end, that it was their nature. And guess what, the events leading to this scene, are a series of betrayals of her endless efforts to bring peace to the Alliance and Horde. The Horde, under the leadership of Grommash Hellscream after Thrall abdicated his position, started a war with the Alliance and even attacked Theramore claiming that it was a puppet state of Stormwind, the capital of the Alliance, and would be used as a staging ground to attack them. He didn't just invade, he used a Mana Bomb to level the city (Basically a Nuke), and killed every single person in the city, including all of Jaina's friends, allies and her apprentice. She only escaped because her direct superior in the mage's guild of Kirin Tor opened a portal and threw her in before the bomb exploded, saving her life.
Here we see that she had enough and accepting that what her father said back then was right. The Horde is a blight to the world and cannot be trusted and their leaders are all betrayers. She has lost almost everything to the Horde and she is on the warpath.
There is, of course, far more to the story, but I don't have the time to write all of it down.

In Warcraft 3 Jaina sailed to Kalimdor to escape the plague of undeath unleashed by the Lich King. There, she met up with the orcs led by Thrall, then warchief of the new Horde and together with the night elves they put a stop to the invasion of the Burning Legion.
Her father, Admiral Daelin Proudmoore, followed after her to Kalimdor out of concern for her safety. When he arrived and found her, however, he also found the orcs. Daelin had lost too much during the 2nd War against the old Horde (including his son), leaving him incapable of trusting orcs or the Horde and leading him to attack them unprovoked.
Though Jaina attempted repeatedly to dissuade him, she proved ultimately unsuccessful in preventing him from attacking her new orcs friends (that I remind you helped to save the damn world not long before), ultimately resulting in the orcs self-defensing him to death.
Daelin, pretty much incapable of rational thought at this point due to his all-encompassing rage and orc racism, curses his own flesh-and-blood daughter Jaina with his final few breaths, viewing her refusal to assist him in attacking the orcs (remember? The ones that helped her save the world?) as a betrayal. She didn't help the orcs fight Daelin or anything. She just stood off to the side, yelling at both sides to stop fighting.
THAT is what the Admiral and the Kul Tirans consider a betrayal. Her refusal to assist in the attempted slaughter of a group that helped her in safeguarding the entire freaking world.
... Of course, then the Horde changed leaders in Cataclysm to a much more warlike warchief (so the old one could go off and save the world again) and the new one ended up bombing the city she built while she was in it in MoP, she only surviving due to the sacrifice of her friend and mentor Ronin, leading her to completely forget any friendship she ever had with anyone on the Horde's side ever and go a little bit unstable and genocidey, but hey, sometimes life throws a curveball ya know?

There is a bonus campaign in The Frosen Throne, something about The sons of Durotar, maybe something in the MMO game, never played the MMO, but might be something there, anyway, her father was a great pirate and she stood against it. The base. So she might be cursed by them. She stood against to the point of letting him die. And she was never happy. Sad to see that, considering she was one of the greatest friends and love of prince Arthas. And we know how his life got to be.

Ultimately Jaina wanted peace between orcs and humans and she was kind of friends with Thrall because Thrall wanted the same. Unfortunately, her father was extremely prejudiced against orc but there is a reason for that too. The orcs come from another plane/dimension. in that dimension, some orcs made the choice of joining the demons and waged war agaisnt hte humans. Humans remember that quite well. However, even among those demonic orcs, there were sickly, green skinned ones that were treated worse than a slave, they were treated as a tool with an expiration date. THose green skinned orcs tried to escape their slavers which were demons and demonic orcs and travelled to Azeroth to find a better home and peace. well, everyone in Azeroth thought that those orcs were sent by the demons so that turned into a misunderstanding and from that point on, it only went downhill. however, even though Jaina sought peace, it's not wrong to say that her actions that day doomed her father and his crew. however, had she done nothing, it would've been the orcs that died and that could possibly mean that her friendship with Thrall would deteriorate and then it would be even harder to achieve peace in the long run. Sometimes the only choices we have are bad and we can only pick the one that will do the least damage. Jaina chose to damage her own reputation among her people than risking the plan of making peace between two nations. It's better that she gets the blame for the death of her father and the crew than adding another mark on the long list of "Reasons to blame the orcs"

and to sum it up, which im sure other comments have done... jaina aided thrall (the orc warchief) back in the events of the warcraft RTS games. Her father didnt like that but it was for the greater good, not many people could see it at the time. They (jaina and thrall) were fighting against the burning legion while the horde and alliance were fighting a war against each other. Jaina's father got killed in a battle against the horde when she was helping thrall instead of helping her father. at least thats kind of how i remember it, haha

Plenty comments giving a very concrete TLDR of what Jaina's story.
The thing with WoW is that, first it was the RTS version of it that had stories of different characters, and after that the MMORPG took those established stories and further expanded upon them.
    For example, Jaina:
    - In Warcraft 3 you get glimpses of her when she was younger and still an apprentice mage.
In there you also get to see what happened between her father and the orcs.
    - In World of Warcraft, 15 years ago, you get to see her trying to keep peace between the Horde and the Alliance.
    - A few expansions later, a certain event happens and Jaina becomes what you see in this cinematic.
Basically, her father was saying that the orcs cannot be trusted and a certain orc did something really nasty.
That is what drove her to this path of war.
    ..
Personally, if someone comes into a new franchise, I always tell them to watch/read by order of release.
In WoW's case, just search Google for the list of expansions and then check the cinematics.
I understand you being confused. After all, there are 15 years of lore in these expansions.

Although, since the Horde bombed her city back when Garrosh led them, shes grown to hate the horde, probably more than her father ever did. thus her regret for not helping him. Also, the bomb didn't manage to harm her but it caused her hair to be partially white, i never know why she never paint it blonde again, maybe for the reminder, or maybe because she thinks its hotter now.

Jaina was actually one of the first playable female characters of the Warcraft games - I don't remember if Garona (orc) or Alleria Windrunner (elf) were playable characters in Warcraft 1 or 2, but if they were it was at most only one mission, and they had only minor roles both in the game and the story (at the time); Jaina, in Warcraft 3, was the first to get a real storyline, character development, and an impactful role in the overall narrative.

  • @cobra1060
    @cobra1060 Рік тому

Jaina's story is one of great loss and tragedy. She lost the love of her life Arthas to the Lich King, lost her mentor when Arthas destroyed Dalaran her home at the time, with Lordaeron destroyed by the plague she took what survivors she could to Kalimdor and founded Theremore after the Horde, Night Elves and Humans allied to destroy the Burning Legion at Mount Hyjal. Daelin, her father then came to her aid at Theremore only to see enemies in the orcs and old hatred still in his heart as the second Horde under Ogrim Doomhammer was responsible for the second war and the death of his son Derek. Daelin sought to kill the orcs and Jaina attempted to stop him knowing he'd be killed and trying to keep a tenuous peace and he continued to wage war and Rexxar (a half orc, half ogre) cut him down. The story made it back to Kul Tiras and she was branded a traitor. For years Jaina tried for peace between the factions and often failed and then when Garrosh declared war on the Alliance, he essentially nuked her city of Theremore killing a shit ton of Alliance as well as several members of the Kirin Tor who were neutral. She went to destroy Orgrimmar, the Orcs city, and Kalecgos, the Blue Dragon she fell for, stopped her. She returned to Dalaran (now rebuilt) and took control of the Kirin Tor and imprisioned the Sunreavers, a faction of Blood Elves that had sworn neutrality but aided Garrosh in his attack on Theremore. Broken Shore happened and Varian Wrynn, a very close friend of Jaina's falls due to what her and Genn Graymane can only suspect Sylvanas's plan to abandon the Alliance. Then enters Archmage Khadgar who Jaina fought with about the Kirin Tor returning to being Neutral during Legion and Jaina left angered. Shortly after is when this Warbringers episode prolly takes place and regathers her thoughts and after the Battle of Lordaeron returns home to Kul Tiras to ask for the aid of the Fleet to fight the Horde now under Sylvanas. In BfA, her story comes full circle at first being abandoned by her remaining family and thrown into the realm of torment, is later recovered and her mother realizes what Jaina has actually been through and that Jaina blames herself for the deaths of her first love, not being able to stop her father, Varians death, Uthers death and the deaths at Theremore. Jaina ends up taking her fathers place as Lord Admiral of Kul Tiras and leading the Alliance to victory on the seas and even reuniting with her formerly deceased brother Derek (raised by Sylvanas in a ploy to kill the Proudemoores) and her other brother Tandred (who was believed to be noncannon)

even though people already gave some insight here a realy short tl:dr for jaina/her dad
her dad was a racist asshole who saw every orc as a savage beast, jaina came across the orcs and realised that they werent all bad, sure they had a bit of a temper but they could be reasoned with. her father came after her and when he found the orcs began to slaughter them, jaina felt bad for the orcs so she helped them get into the stronghold of her father to put an end to him because he was slaughtering civilians and soldiers alike. that last part was information that her people never got, in their mind jaina sided with the savages and killed her father in cold blood and that is why she was so hated

Long story short she basically was with the Horde at the time , the humans that survived the fight told stories to their people , the fight started because her father thought that the orcs had captured Jaina plus he already hated the orcs anyways , but at the moment of the fight Jaina did stood aside.. & her father died , but the reason she was with the orcs was basically to unite forces and fight the legion to save Azeroth, other words save the world.

Point blank the betrayal is in the in action that Jaina took when her Dad was on the warpath against the invading Orcs, when she could've helped she didn't there's several bits of back and forth leading up to the decision for the Proudmoore navy to leave to take on the Orcs, but she was young idealistic & believed that peace talks with the new warchief Thrall would've been a better idea & well Dad just jumped the gun & took Derek with him. Derek's story completes in BfA along with a bit more reference/introduction to the ripple Jaina created in this decision. Also yes that is the ghost ship she used in the battle for lordaeron that opened BfA

Long story short, she made an alliance with Thrall's new Horde to fight invading demons. But the orcs used to be corrupted by demons, and there's a lot of hate between orcs and humans because of that past. So her father attacked her allies, and she wouldn't intervene and jeopardize her alliance. An unpopular and heartybreaking decision. Now that the Horde is under Sylvanas' control and got all conquery, all of her sacrifice seems in vain.

Just one thing, that's rather important - she didn't really betray her dad, mostly she just chose to not follow along in his constant war-mongering and refused to be draged into a battle he seeked, that got him subsequently killed. But of course, with her people 8the people of Kul'Tiras) pretty much revering her father, Lord Admiral Daelin Proudmoore as a hero of their people, they blamed it on her.
There is that one quest in WoW: Battle for Azeroth, where, long story short, her mother, Kathrine Proudmoore (who became Ruler and Lord Admiral of Kul'Tiras after Daelin's death), after abandoning her earlier, realizes that it wasn't just NOT Jaina's fault, but that her daughter is actually guilt-ridden and blames herself for every loss and tragedy in her life (amongst them the death of her father, but believe me, that poor woman went through a lot of shit over the course of the story of Warcraft), that she finally forgives her and comes to terms with the fact that noone, not even Jaina, could have saved Daelin from himself and his racism and war-mongering that ultimately led to his death. Quite the touching sequence (look up "Realm of Torment" on YT, if you want to see it) all things consideres, especially for a game like WoW, that doesn't offer too many emotional moments superficially.
And yes, that ship used to be the ship of her father and former flagship of the fabled Kul'Tiran fleet, the "Proudmoore".

I'm sure it's been recommended many times before, but I highly recommend playing Warcraft III whenever possible. The events mentioned in this song are straight from WC3 and many of the major players of BfA have histories that go back to WC3 and before, but really WC3 is enough for the most part. For example the one part of Warbringers: Sylvanas would make more sense having played WC3 as the scene of Arthas killing Sylvanas and raising her as a banshee is part of the Scourge campaign. WC3 also has basically all of Jaina's background since she wasn't around in WC1 and 2 which will make one in-game Alliance-only cutscene make more sense. Sadly nowadays you're kinda stuck playing WC3: Reforged if you wanted to play it, but I guess it's better than nothing and it's at least easily accessible.

You probably already know the story behind this warbringer cinematic, but there's something I dont see in the comments section that's is pretty important to understand (and have even more chills at the end). Jaina was always a pacifist. Like no one else. She was betrayed several times and wasn't heard in another bunch, but never wavered. Till this clip. After all she suffered, this video shows the breakpoint, where she gave up and started to listen to her (mad racist) father. This is utterly sad, because of what she was before all of this and all the war. Character development in Jaina was absolutely amazing. In the finale of Drustvar you can see more about her ideals and the moments where she tried to do something and "failed" because it didn't depends on her, but she blames herself anyway.

Story of jaina(pretty much hoplefully i wont miss any)
so she was firstly a girl in a city called loarderan where the original and first alliance of humans formed there she met the prince arthas menethil ll they fell in love in love with each other(there was some other shits too like keal but hey!who cares?)
at the end arthas wanted to become a paladin he stayed at his city so muradin could teach him and later on uther
While jaina went to city of dalaran where the orders of mage formed as she wished to become a mage
Many years later a plague hits the alliance and jaina was sent there to check everything out and arthas was sent there to escort her at the end of it all they found out about the cause of plague
At stratholme arthas saw all the people were plagued he decided to purge the whole city THERE jaina leaves arthas behind in her mind leaving arthas behind was what turned arthas to what he is now(the most badass character ever)then a lot happens dalaran became nothing but a ruined city human kingdoms were burn to ash(dont ask how cuz thats hell of a long story)but there was always some survivors too jaina led these survivors in suggestion of mediveh the first gaurdian she led her people to lands of kalimdor there they forged a super alliance between humans orcs and night elves(thrall was the warchief of the horde) so the horde and alliance had a deal of peace kinda thing with each other jaina was in a city calle the theramore it was placed in the shores of kalimdor and thrall was busy building the very first real home of the horde he named it durotar to honor his father
Everything was good and all until a group of humans just straight up took control of theramore snd striked down the orcs thrall led the horde into battle with these humans turns out these humans were soldiers of admira(gosh what the fuck was his name? Cant remember) who was jaina's father! In the name of peace jaina left her father and the orcs killed him in front of her
Thats all you gotta know besides of them everything else is kinda spoiling IF you want to also watch other warbringers as the rest of this story connects to many other important characters

It's from Wrath of the Lich King, but since you're digging into the lore you might want to go watch the Wrath Gate cinematic.

Speaking of catchy music, I hope you've been listening to the in-game music. I think I speak for a majority of WoW fans when I say the music, from the very beginning and all throughout, is phenomenal

Honestly if you want some more context on the back story with Jaina, and just WoW in general, you should really play WC3 remastered. It has a lot of plot points which were the foundational stories for the original World of Warcraft launch and Jaina has always played a pivotal role in the Warcraft series since her creation as a character.

It is a weird thing because the events of her betraying her father took place WAAAAAAAAAY back in Warcraft III, in the story of Legion she is following the same story of revenge against the Hoard that her Father took. It is VERY metaphorical in the song/video. Definitely not beginner friendly.

She didn't betray her father. She was intelligent, he was not! She wanted to make peace with the New Found Horde of Thrall, but her Father was Alliance and everyone knows, alliance sucks, so he did, what Alliance always does. Declare the Horde the Evil and fight them. I mean, thats why aliiance sucks, right...

This... has to be one of the most chilling, most beautiful songs ever to come out of wow... There's a gorgeous cinematic to go along with it... And you, instead of listening, barely halfway through the song start asking questions the song would have answered for you. This was proper annoying to watch ngl

it's more than not helping .. she always believe that peace was possible with the orcs. her father not so much., it was a source of many arguments. a faction of orcs attacked Theramore, Jaina's home. Her father went to save her. but was killed instead.. her people blamed her for the loss of their leader... her father

If you thought FF XIV lore was complicated... 😂 Seriously though, you have to go back to the events of the Warcraft RTS games to understand a lot of what's happening even now, at least in terms of context and origins.
