It's Thrall. aka The World Shaman, aka Green Jesus, and basically the original leader of the Horde on Azeroth. He's a HUGE threat to Sylvanus if he ever comes back to lead the Horde, so she sends assassins to deal with him. Though honestly, the assassins never stood a chance and Sylvanus knows that, so she's likely baiting Thrall to return, and forcing a conflict of civil war and death... which is all likely part of her plans that lead into The Shadowlands expansion. She's not actually trying to "win", she's merely trying to cause as many deaths as possible.
It feels cool see someone getting into what we love about wow, keep the videos comming 😁 por cierto mi ingles no es muy bueno pero saludos desde Mexico
Thrall was the reason I fell in love with Warcraft lore in the first place. I really didn't care much about the lore in Warcraft for the fist two games but that changes when I played the Orc campaign in Warcraft 3. There are probably other earlier example of this elsewhere ,but Thrall was the fist truly heroic orc character that I ever encounter in fiction. The unique perspective eon orcs as a fallen race desperately to regain their honour and freedom is munch needed change from what was the norm of orcs in fiction. Oh, some WoW lore addicts speculated that the reason why Thrall get along with younger Jaina so easily was because she reminded him a lot of his older sister, Taretha . Thrall's older sister was a young, gorgeous, smart ,compassionate golden haired *human female* . Yep , Thrall was raised by humans, albeit to be a slave (Taretha was the only person who love and showed kindness to him).
List of Warchiefs of the main body of the Horde (ignoring splinters or alternate timeline versions): 1 - Blackhand. Puppet Warchief of Gul'dan and his demon-serving Shadow Council. First to unite the orc clans as a single Horde, which he used to conquer first their own homeworld and then (when it was ruined) the world that humans (and elves and dwarves and trolls and many more) live on. Sacked Stormwind during the "First War". 2 - Orgrim Doomhammer. Defeated Blackhand and took all power away from the Shadow Council, executing most of them. Still continued to try and conquer the humans and Dwarves though. Lost the war, his Horde mostly shattered. 3 - Thrall (or technically Go'el Frostwolf). Raised by humans, he freed the orcs from internment camps and had them sail west to another continent to live in peace. Focused on trying to be diplomatic with the Alliance and facing larger threats. Abdicated to focus on being a Shaman and be closer to the elements and because he felt that his vision and the vision of his fellow orcs didn't align. 4 - Garrosh Hellscream. Nominated by Thrall due to being the most popular orc and the son of his dead best friend (a war "hero"), he was pretty much a full fascist, complete with Lebensraum and racism towards more and more demographics, until only loyal orcs were worthy of belonging to the Horde. Defeated by popular uprising in tandem with Alliance invasion. Fled to an alternate timeline. 5 - Vol'jin of the Darkspear Tribe. Leader of the Trolls since they first joined Thrall's Horde. Was the main organizer of the popular uprising. Elected to be Warchief by the other faction leaders of the Horde when Thrall didn't want to retake the mantle. Got stabbed with a poisoned blade by a random demon. 6 - Sylvanas Windrunner. High Elf Ranger-General in life, she freed herself and many fellow Undead from mental enslavement. Founded the free Undead Forsaken and became their Queen. Vol'jin chose her as his successor on his death bed because she was the most experienced in military matters and there were massive hordes of demons to defeat. But also because of [SPOILERS].
Just because I didn’t see anyone else mention it, the zone they’re in is called Nagrand. It’s the only zone in Outland where uncorrupted orcs could still be found. It’s very ironic that Thrall is living there because it’s where we met Garrosh Hellscream, the second warchief who Thrall ultimately had to kill in a duel.
The black haired orc is called Green Jesus by the players, if that tells you how important of a character he is. He was the infant sent down the river in the Warcraft movie, which technically makes him Green Moses as well.
In regards to the colors (I didn't see any comments explaining those) Thrall(aka Go'el) is of the Frostwolves Clan whose clan color is blue, while Saurfang is most likely from the Blackrock Clan whose clan color is red though red is also the universal color for members of the Horde due Blackrock Clan having been largest of the orcish clans and thus contributed most the Horde's numbers in the past. There's no symbolism beyond that though. Orcs are/were split into several clans each with their own symbol and color. The main orcish clans we do know by now are as follows Frostwolf clan: Thrall's clan and more probably the most influential clan for the modern horde (color:blue) Blackrock clan:The clan who (officially) created the first Horde and at least used to be the largest and most advanced of the clans (color:red), they also had an off-shoot known as the Black Tooth Grin clan that was reabsorbed into the main clan after the second war and that clan used the color black as their clan color. Warsong clan:The clan of the Hellscream family and one the best warriors the horde had (color:red (or sometimes purple)) Bleeding Hallow clan: one of most primitive of the Orcish clans and masters of jungle fighting and use poisons, their name comes the tradition of their chieftains to carve out one their own eyes for a vision of their death (color:green) Bonechewer clan: as the name suggests this clan had cannibalistic practices (color:red) Thunderlord clan: Enemies of the Frostwolf clan who were/are lead by Thrall's uncle Fenris Wolfbrother also known for hunting the large beasts of Draenor (color:violet) Stormreaver clan:a clan made by the warlock Gul'dan to hide his servants and acolytes from rest of the horde (note:this might have also been the name of Gul'dan original clan which he did destroy as no-one alive knew Gul'dan's clan of origin) (color:blue). Laughing Skull clan: An orcish clan lead by an Ogre this can joined alliance forces during the alliance invasion of Draenor, also considered quite mad by other orcs (color:yellow) Dragonmaw Clan:famous for being the orcs who enslaved the dragons of Azeroth to be used as mounts for horde during the second war (color:white) Burning Blade clan:A clan noted for both their skill with bladed weapons (especially swords) and being bat shit insane, the name would also later be used by a demonic cult(color: orange) Twilight's Hammer Clan:another Ogre led clan this time by the Ogre mage Cho'Gall originally servants of Guldan but later become servants of the Old Gods(color: violet) Shattered Hand clan: a clan infamous for self mutilation (mainly replacing a hand with a blade) after their founder Kargath Bladefist (color:white) Shadowmoon clan:the leader of this clan Ner'zul is responsible for creating the Horde with the Blackrock clan (first Warchief of the Horde was the chieftain of the Blackrock clan called Blackhand), Ner'zul was also responsible for destroying Draenor and he was the first Lich King as well and the Shadowmoon clan in general has probably the most involved in the demonic and void magics after the Stormreavers and Twilight's Hammer (clan color:black).
Thrall was the Warchief of the horde starting in Warcraft 3. After the events of Cataclysm he went and got himself a wife and some kids, and after killing Garrosh he essentially had his shaman powers taken away by the Elements. He's now settled down, half depressed on the old broken homeworld of Draenor (known as Outland in game) living out his days peacefully with his family. He was essentially the heart and soul of the Horde, bringing everyone together, well-liked and respected by most of the horde. This was essentially Saurfang going back to Thrall and asking for help in fighting Sylvanas as Thrall would help unite the members of the horde who don't necessarily follow Sylvanas. And yes, the assassins were sent by her.
Thrall is the the heart of the Horde's honor, added in Warcraft III to make the Orc more than an aimless bad guy on the screen. He was the first character in the history to have canonical history based on practical exploration of the previous games.
Thrall, original founder of the Horde. Once leader of the Orcs who created the Horde by establishing mutual defense and trade agreements with the Trolls, the Taurens, and the Undead. He even tried to set up a peace agreement with the Alliance. He stepped down to be a shaman and was replaced by Hellscream (a brutal Orc dictator that was eventually overthrown) who was replaced by Vol'jin the leader of the Trolls who was fairly decent and brought the Blood Elves into the Horde before being killed by a demon. His replacement Sylvanus you've already met.
I know it might be too much but I feel like if you really want a good method of learning the pre-wow lore that so much of wow builds from you should play through the Warcraft 3 game. Thrall (the black haired orc) was the main character from the Orc campaign perspective in WC3, and the eventual leader of the horde for the initial launch of WOW and its first expansion. Shortly before WOW came out initially I did a fast (using a cheat to make myself invulnerable as I wasn't playing the game for the game aspect, just the story) playthrough of Warcraft 3 and never regretted it. The first two expansions deal with stuff directly from that game, and a number of story points still reference people and things that happened then. You get the formation of the "good" horde, the reason for Jaina's issues in BFA, the origin of Sylvanas as a banshee, etc.
Yes, Saurfang has always had no eyebrows. Due to a mistake/miscommunication while building Thrall a new model back in Cataclysm, he ended up being one of only a small handful of orcs who actually have eyebrows. Fun fact, our original Gul'dan had them while alternate timeline Gul'dan does not.
Black Haired Orc is Thrall in Common tongue and his birth Orcish name is Go'el. His parents were Frostfang Clans leaders and during 1:st War between Humans and Orcs they were assassinated by Warlock Gul'dans minions. Thrall survived and was found by humans who took him to castle that was turned into internment camp after 2:nd War to other Orcs, however camps leader Aedelas Blackmoore kept Thrall from others, teached him to be his tool against Orcs by teaching Thrall his way of thinking, human culture and thing like that. Thrall is also one few Orcs who does not keep his back in hump like many other Orcs. Name Thrall means slave. During his stay Blackmoore was very harsh towards Thrall, however one of his human servants helped Thrall emotionally and later helped him to escape... act that later costed her life in hands of Blackmoore. Thrall sees that each race is capable for good and evil from his past experience and lives by them.
Thrall is probably the most relevant character in all the Warcraft franchise, maybe together with Illidan and Arthas. He has been around since Warcraft 3. Raised as a slave (thrall) by humans in orc encampments after the orcs lost the war against humans. Founder of the new Horde based on the values of honor, founder of Orgrimmar, Warchief of the Horde during all Warcraft 3 and very deep into the WoW timeline, in the end he married and retired to live a peaceful live. Until this video he had been offscreen now for nearly 4 years.
This other Orc guy is called "Thrall". He is the original founder of the modern "World of WarCraft" Horde on Azeroth. It was him who took in the Tauren and the Trolls as also the Forsaken. Fun Fact: Thrall is a word in the Human Alliance language and means nothing else but "Slave". Thrall's original Name was "Go'el", but he didn't knew that, until he already was Warchief and needed to study the elements over in Nagrand - Outland. There he met a young Nagrand Orc Woman "Aggra" who also studied the way of Shamanism. Oh yeah, Thrall is a Shaman. He is GREEN because he was saved by Gul'dan (who was an evil Warlock) Thrall was dead born and Gul'dan saved him because he needed Warriors so he revived him with fel-magic. Normally Orcs in WoW are brownish/reddish colored which you can see in the Mark'ghar Orcs. The Azerothian Orcs became green because of Fel Magic. Its like this, this Guy is pretty important to the Horde because he was the Founder of the modern Horde, gave his place over to Vol'jin, who was the former Horde leader to Sylvanas Bitch-bummer and now fights for the "HORDE" he created, which had honor and glory and didn't massively kill innocents. Sorry for the essay XD... But you wanted to know, who he is. If you want MORE information read the Books "Lord of the Clan" and "The Shattering" There are many more of books about or with Thrall, but those are the most important to His story I guess. Also "Rise of the Lichking" where he is mentioned, but not really talked about a lot. I HIGHLY recommand "Rise of the Lichking", cause this book talks about one of the BEST ANTAGONISTS in fiction/story/games ever. Its about Prince Arthas Menethil, who was literally a dramatic turned story. Highly recommand it, It moves something in you :)
Ah, so refreshing finding someone who doesn’t know of “Green Jesus.” As for the invisible assassins...those my dear are rogues. Highly annoying to get ambushed and killed by one, highly amusing to play one and just go around sapping people to make them nervous without actually killing them.
Just a heads Up, you probably already saw them but: before "Reckoning" (this cinematic saga finale, and next video) you should check "The negotiation" ingame scene ,it takes place between safe haven and Reckoning and gives context.

Like the other say this is Thrall the first warchief of the modern horde (the old horde was controlled by the legion the modern horde is free) and if Saurfang need him : for beat Sylvanas of course but for a future for the horde and a peace with the alliance too because many people love him in the horde (old warchief, savior, old earth guardian (long story but before he was the new earth guardian after deathwing more or less ^^) and in the Alliance they respect him (they fight together, Anduin respect him like his father before, Tyrande and Malfurion Stormrage respect him before, he saved Azeroth when he was earth guardian and Jaina.... That a long story ! Like I explain you in an other vidéo him and her (and Tyrande) fight together against the legion and that was him with an other orc called Rexxar who killed his father ! But they was the best friend during many years (you have many theory about Thrall and Jaina in love long time ago) a powerful friendship and one of the first reason about "peace" with Horde and Alliance during many years ! But after Cataclysm/MOP (theramore destroyed, ...) she hate the horde and she hate him (she almost killed him) but in an other vidéo after many years they meet again and they make peace together (and she make peace with the horde and herself) you can see the video after help Baine (I don't say more spoilers 😉) so that why Saurfang want him and that is clever Sylvanas knew too
It's fascinating watching this FFXIV fan watch this of all cinematics, meant to play on deep WoW fandom's heartstrings. If you don't know Thrall (and for all we take for Granted WoW people, he's not mainstream) this whole cinematic kinda falls apart.
Thrall is also a community favorite because he was voiced by Chris Metzen and most of his story was written by Metzen. Who is basically the person responsible for most of WoW's existence and story. He left the company shortly after Legions launch due to anxiety attacks and stress of dealing with the toxicity in gaming culture these days. Its a shame because Metzen was a cool dude and a good lead for the story of WoW. He still does some consulting work. Alot of fans found it convient when wow started struggling with subscribers and player unrest Metzen came back into the game. I think the line "We dont get to hide" is very personal because Metzen tried to hide and leave it all behind. But when the WoW community was calling out for someone to fix the issues he made a appearance from the shadows at blizzcon. You can get a basic idea of whats behind the Orcs with the Movie but honestly its kinda doody. And if your into reading you'd be far better off getting a copy of Rise of the Horde to start investigating lore.
this video has Zero impact because of the unfamiliarity of the story, so I ask: how are you this far into lore and not know Thrall? start at the beginning, not at the not beginnings
Hahaha that's SO cute to see newcomers to WoW not knowing who Thrall is. Every time I'm like : "WHAT DO YOU MEAN 'Who's this ?" ?! THIS IS F*CKINK THRALL ! THE BEST WARCHIEF THE HORDE EVER HAD !" Then I realize, of course they don't know ^^

That is Thrall! the True Leader of the horde!
List of Warchiefs of the main body of the Horde (ignoring splinters or alternate timeline versions):
1 - Blackhand.
The main orcish clans we do know by now are as follows
Frostwolf clan: Thrall's clan and more probably the most influential clan for the modern horde (color:blue)
Blackrock clan:The clan who (officially) created the first Horde and at least used to be the largest and most advanced of the clans (color:red), they also had an off-shoot known as the Black Tooth Grin clan that was reabsorbed into the main clan after the second war and that clan used the color black as their clan color.
Warsong clan:The clan of the Hellscream family and one the best warriors the horde had (color:red (or sometimes purple))
Bleeding Hallow clan: one of most primitive of the Orcish clans and masters of jungle fighting and use poisons, their name comes the tradition of their chieftains to carve out one their own eyes for a vision of their death (color:green)
Bonechewer clan: as the name suggests this clan had cannibalistic practices (color:red)
Thunderlord clan: Enemies of the Frostwolf clan who were/are lead by Thrall's uncle Fenris Wolfbrother also known for hunting the large beasts of Draenor (color:violet)
Stormreaver clan:a clan made by the warlock Gul'dan to hide his servants and acolytes from rest of the horde (note:this might have also been the name of Gul'dan original clan which he did destroy as no-one alive knew Gul'dan's clan of origin) (color:blue).
Laughing Skull clan: An orcish clan lead by an Ogre this can joined alliance forces during the alliance invasion of Draenor, also considered quite mad by other orcs (color:yellow)
Dragonmaw Clan:famous for being the orcs who enslaved the dragons of Azeroth to be used as mounts for horde during the second war (color:white)
Burning Blade clan:A clan noted for both their skill with bladed weapons (especially swords) and being bat shit insane, the name would also later be used by a demonic cult(color: orange)
Twilight's Hammer Clan:another Ogre led clan this time by the Ogre mage Cho'Gall originally servants of Guldan but later become servants of the Old Gods(color: violet)
Shattered Hand clan: a clan infamous for self mutilation (mainly replacing a hand with a blade) after their founder Kargath Bladefist (color:white)
Shadowmoon clan:the leader of this clan Ner'zul is responsible for creating the Horde with the Blackrock clan (first Warchief of the Horde was the chieftain of the Blackrock clan called Blackhand), Ner'zul was also responsible for destroying Draenor and he was the first Lich King as well and the Shadowmoon clan in general has probably the most involved in the demonic and void magics after the Stormreavers and Twilight's Hammer (clan color:black).
I love watching her reactions!!! I desperately wish I could hang out with her and explain all the amazing things about this world!!!
That's Thrall, former Warchief of the Horde. It was under his leadership that we have the Horde that we have today.
I can't unsee Saurfang having no eyebrows. LoL thanks. :P
In’ warcraft, a person’s power is measured by the length of their eyebrows.
Id like a second full movie from blizzard again , even tho the first one flopped , i liked it
This other Orc guy is called "Thrall".
He is GREEN because he was saved by Gul'dan (who was an evil Warlock)
Thrall was dead born and Gul'dan saved him because he needed Warriors so he revived him with fel-magic.
If you want MORE information read the Books "Lord of the Clan" and "The Shattering"
There are many more of books about or with Thrall, but those are the most important to His story I guess.
Highly recommand it, It moves something in you :)
the dark haired orc is Thrall the original leader of the Horde when WoW was released
That is Green Jesus! :D
That lady is the the Holy "Green Pickle"...
Thrall was the former shamanic leader of the horde who stepped down
Ah, so refreshing finding someone who doesn’t know of “Green Jesus.” As for the invisible assassins...those my dear are rogues. Highly annoying to get ambushed and killed by one, highly amusing to play one and just go around sapping people to make them nervous without actually killing them.
That is indeed Thrall, aka Green Jesus, Saviour of the Horde
That would be green jesus, or Thrall aka Goel. He started the "Horde" we know today.
He is Green Jesus !
thrall, he was warchief of the horde before sylvanas, vol'jin, and garrosh
Just a heads Up, you probably already saw them but: before "Reckoning" (this cinematic saga finale, and next video) you should check "The negotiation" ingame scene ,it takes place between safe haven and Reckoning and gives context.
4:22 The BOZZ is back!
The black hair orc is called Thrall (Go'el in Orcish) and he is regarded as Orcish Jesus. Oh yes, forgot, former Warchief of the Horde.
Would love to see how you feel about the various Legion cinematics, especially the two from patch 7.3 (Rejection of the Gift & the Argus defeat)
Thrall used to be orc Jesus to be put simply lol I loved bfa as a horde player, it felt like we got most the attention.
Outland Nagrand will always be one of the best zones.
That is Thrall kinda founder of the new horde and warchief for many years untill he left cuse the voice actor and CEO of blizzard actually retired, but in the lore he went out to help restore the elemnts og the world hes kinda lime super shaman and the main character of the horde campaihnback in warcraft 2 i believe
Pretty sure they still contract him out to do Thall's voice lines
@@wesleydavis4288 actually theres a little meme about before BFA he went into Blizzcon as a Fan ask on for when is he coming back? ua-cam.com/video/5KvWFFcGtnY/v-deo.html
@@alejandrorodriguez1611 that's awesome... Man! I miss Blizzcon...eff this Blizzconline BS...
Saurfangs sons Dies in WOTLK, it was Thrall the Horde old Warchief
Thrall deserves an animated series.
But after Cataclysm/MOP (theramore destroyed, ...) she hate the horde and she hate him (she almost killed him) but in an other vidéo after many years they meet again and they make peace together (and she make peace with the horde and herself) you can see the video after help Baine (I don't say more spoilers 😉) so that why Saurfang want him and that is clever Sylvanas knew too
Yeah Sylvanas absorbed the eyebrows of Saurfang, thats why they look so fucking huge
Thrall is prob. One of the most important/iconic character in the Game! :D You should check his lore ^^
It's fascinating watching this FFXIV fan watch this of all cinematics, meant to play on deep WoW fandom's heartstrings. If you don't know Thrall (and for all we take for Granted WoW people, he's not mainstream) this whole cinematic kinda falls apart.
He's Warcraft protagonist our lord Green Jesus
To my knowledge Thrall is the only orc that HAS eyebrows.
The orc in the Mists of Pandaria cinematic had eyebrows too.
He a bougee orc
@@rootfifth001 I did say to my knowledge, lol. I don't regularly go around inspecting orc eyebrows, heh.
Clearly we need to employ an eyebrow inspector :D
You pointed out Saurfang has no eyebrows..... thats all i can notice now.. Thanks..
And if your into reading you'd be far better off getting a copy of Rise of the Horde to start investigating lore.
this video has Zero impact because of the unfamiliarity of the story, so I ask: how are you this far into lore and not know Thrall?
start at the beginning, not at the not beginnings
the history of warcraft/wow would be a good watch
this is saurfangs brother. his son died in another cinematic.
These are great keep up the good work!
Hahaha that's SO cute to see newcomers to WoW not knowing who Thrall is.
Every time I'm like :
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN 'Who's this ?" ?!
THIS IS F*CKINK THRALL ! THE BEST WARCHIEF THE HORDE EVER HAD !"
Then I realize, of course they don't know ^^
Galaxy you want to know the lore of wow, a question coming up is why not start from the begining instead of from the end? Start watching the warcraft cinematics and go forward.
We call him: Pickle Jesus.
"Are they related?"
Do all orcs look the same to you?
LMAO bravo!
By the by, Thrall was raised by humans, and the developers have always purposely made him look slightly more human than other Orcs.
Oh! Yeah I noticed his eyes looked a bit bigger and stuff, too!
@@GalaxyAUS it's also why Thrall has Eyebrows while most orcs don't.
i hoped the ax that thrall grabbed was gorehowl
he is thrall leader of the horde he retired though so saurfang is telling him to come back
If you want to know more lore I recommend Nobbel87 videos
forsaken rogues. rogues do that.
Hi galaxy, how are you, if you don't mind me asking what server do you play on and are you in a guild, I'm returning to wow as a 15 year old after a long break so I'm just trying to play with a good community
Orc shave off their eyebrows because its seens as femenin in orc culture. Thrall was a slave and was raised by humans, so thats why he has eyebrows. Also he was the warchief of the horde.
Its not from the games, its from the movie. You need to watch the movie to know.
YOUR NAILS HELLO?
Hahaha yessssss! As soon as the salons opened up again I zoomed on in there haha
interesting concept of trying to learn more about the lore by watching videos in reverse release order lol
You should probably watch ua-cam.com/video/EmhO1LldIQw/v-deo.html - it will give you a good primer. There is so much lore that it is much harder to jump in now than when I started back in 2008.
if you are curious about the lore of wow search out Nobbel87 here on youtube, he is second to none when it comes to the lore
lol, "who dis guy"
Can you make me love you more?....... Every single time i look at you i get more inlove.......
No Orcs have eyebrows besides thrall there..
There is something protruding out of your nose. I thought you would like to know that.
Aaah thrall...can we drag Metzen back to fix this damn game lmao
Time to take off your pink glasses, even back when Metzen ran the lore it was a mess
Thrall 2020
LOL, Its funny how everybody call Trall, the green Jesus. Is more like Green Moses.
You should play some free WOW. Then maybe watch the movie. Its beautifull but without background and lore is a bunch of nosense CGI
elves have long ears...
Invisible elves? Lol
You need react to other start cinematics .
I love you 💜
who this guy ? thats like asking who is lebron James , or Michael jackson ....
she's thick
I hate thrall lost his powers. ☹
The game doesn't do a great job of telling the story to new players.
Stop
