- Weiss was probably the greatest lute player of his time and composed a lot of wonderful music for the baroque lute.
We know that he met Bach a few times and that they played together.
It would have been nice to be there…..
It would have been nice to be there!! It's also nice to be here :-)

Gorgeous piece by Weiss, played beautifully. Thank you so much for these wonderful UA-cam recordings Goran: it's such a wonderful thing to do, to give those of us who love your music the opportunity to hear you play.
So kind - thanks 🎶

Gorgeous! Thanks you, Göran!
Thanks dear Annette 🎶 best wishes to both of you
Listen to his fantastic vibrato. It is like giving each tone an own life beyond EADGH. I actually saw Göran in Örebro (Sweden) around late 1980. He started his concert and a light build exploded up in the ceiling so he decided to restart the concert. To hear him in a concert hall is a blessing.
So fun to hear about that concert-thanks for reminding me 🎶
splendide ....

I hope one day Silvius Leopold Weiss will be listened by more non guitarist people.
I agree 🎶
great performance! it sounds like Weiss might have heard Dido's Lament and wanted to build on some of those structures.
Yes-why not 🎶 thanks
Buenísimo!!!😍😍
Gracias amigo 🎶🎶🎶

thanks 🎶
thank you..
Thanks 🎵
Beautiful piece!
thanks 🎶🎶
Super ! :)
🙏
would absolutely love to see or purchase tabs for this piece, please let me know if these are published somewhere!
I used the edition ’Weiss Intavolatura di Liuto’ edited by Ruggero Chiesa to make my arrangement.
This Sarabande is from the so called London Manuscript so if you can tabulature that might be a possibility.
Good luck 🎶
Thumbs up for the many nice and accurate comments
Thanks 🎶
Still going strong !
👍👍👍
@@goransollscher1730 Har alltid beundrat ditt gitarrspel.Jag bugar djupt.
@@kjell-akeapell3285 Tack - vad glad jag blir 🎶
Love your 11 string guitar! Is there a metal brace supporting it? Does it rest on your knee? Haven't noticed that before
Yes,it’s called Guitar Rest. This one was made in Japan-very convinient.
This is a real find; I adore Weiss' music but this piece is new to me. Which suite/sonata is it from? Thank you for posting such gorgeous pieces.
It’s from a collection of short pieces published by Pierre Ballard in 1638. And thank you 🎶
Sorry - I wrote about a piece by Mezangeau that I posted earlier today….
The Sarabande by Weiss is from a Suite in g-minor from the London Manuscript
I checked with Nigel Norths beautiful recording-it’s from Partita in g-minor,nothing else
@@goransollscher1730 I've just found it in Chiesa; it's Suite 3 in the London collection. And thanks again for the wonderful postings.
@@donaldanderson6604 great - I made my version from the Chiesa edition too
:)
