This is my favorite version of Ciaconna, 6 years i've been back and back again to hear it.
Same here,the tempo here matches so greatly the tone of the piece :)
also returning weekly for years, mainly because this guitar is tuned like a baroque lute so it's souding really as the composer wrote

This is not just an inspired piece of music, but an inspired performance of the same. You play it to perfection as though you are in a transcendent trance ( a flow state ) ; and you probably are. Thanks so much for providing this wonderful video of music of a heavenly ( cosmic ) dimension.

The most beautiful and touching interpretation of the piece I've heard. The sound is different from a Baroque lute but it suits the piece wonderfully. Is your guitar tuned like a 13-course Baroque lute (D minor tuning)?

I'm 40yr. Professional Classical Guitarist. I usually don't care for baroque music played on the guitar, except for this performance.
Why you don´t care ? You cannot be professional if you dont like baroque ... never will be. NE-VER. Most of great jewels are form the past. At least we agree it is THE performance

Very nice playing and the music of Weiss is marvelous. Will you play one day others composers on this wonderful instrument? I'm curious to listen how Gallot, Gauthier, bach or even Couperin sound on it.

You have a rare talent for that instrument and music Mark, Bravo, I sit and watch and listen to your UA-cam performances for hours, question please although this piece is in G minor is your instrument still tuned to D minor ?
Amazing! I wonder if I can add 3 extra strings to my existing 10-string guitar. That would be great!

Beautiful - and to think this is just an ACCOMPANIMENT, the whole suite (to which this Chaconne belongs) is actually a DUO with flute, the part of which is lost (several reconstruction attempts have been recorded).
