Di questa esecuzione sarebbe rimasto soddisfatto anche Weiss,e anche avrebbe voluto avere quella bellissima chitarra con quel suono puro. Bravissimo e grazie.
Thank you very much Mark for the pdf. I'm only an elder guitar hobby player and I listen your video many times and each time is more soulful. Thank you again
I thought the same. He seems so relaxed as he plays what looks to be a pretty difficult version of the guitar (I bet its easier to tune than its Lute counterpart!)
I always come back for this when i'm in the mood for Weiss... you and Drew really capture ( what I believe) is the Weiss message to the world... many thanks for this Mark!
What a beautiful, flowing and fluent interpretation of this wonderful suite: the music just speaks for itself and the interpreter is one with it. The guitar sounds wonderful - it is impossible to listen to this kind of music on the six-string guitar after hearing something like this, the crisp trebles and deep basses add a wonderful ressonance. The guitar sounds like it has excellent projection, and of course your tone quality is top-notch. A real pleasure to hear something like this. Congratulations.
I was curious about the guitar´s projection. I don´t like the word volume, as the guitar, no matter how good, is never really "loud" (or powerful like other instruments). What I imagine is that, given your exceptional tone quality, a guitar like this in your hands projects very well and probably better than most six-string guitars (once again, it depends on who´s playing them). I hope you post more; you´re playing is so beautiful, serene and moving.
How I love these comments ... to think that all of us have felt the beauty of this music, have sensually savoured it, entering a dimension far from the numb world.
"entering a dimension far from this numb world" ~ wow, that phrase really is a good description ... the power of good musical expression takes us out of this usual world and into another better world!
Beautiful playing, beautiful tone, beautiful instrument, and lovely interpretation. You really leaned into the roundness of tone that the classical guitar is capable of, rather than trying to emulate the more nasal tone of the lute. It makes for an expressive and different take compared to hearing it on a 12-course lute. Truly wonderful performance.
Merci. 👍👏👏👏👏👏😍🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Aww, just so lovely. I adore the instrument and the sonorities ,and the timbre and your phrasing is very suggestive in all the best manner. Thanks for helping to make this world a better place than how many find it. It's what a legacy is all about. The value of this music isn't in the cost, but what it contributes. Lovely brother, just lovely. When beautiful ideas come together, to create truth and meaning, to make existence worthwhile. You go guy! Ronnie
Excellent! Played with the seriousness and lack of sentimentality that makes the interpretation of this music genuine. (I would use the Swedish word ”allvar” here.)
every musician deserves a compliment Herr Weiss did compose this D- minor Suited for the 13 c Baroque lute as everybody is aware of it Mark: what happen to the repeats in the suite ???they are composed in the suite
Hi Mark, thanks for sharing! Your playing, the guitar and the sound are very impressive. This is very encouraging, as I´m also working on Weiss music on a 13 string guitar. Regards, R.
You look like one of the Salamanca brothers (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul) - although I doubt they are such masters on the guitar! Thanks for this beautiful performance...
Some of the best music of all the history of humanity is present on this suite.
For years I’m coming back to your playing
Is just wonderful thank you mark

11 people have no class. This man is a wonderful player, and the arrangement is superb. Great job! Beautiful!
I think you better make that 19.
Thank you very much Mark for the pdf. I'm only an elder guitar hobby player and I listen your video many times and each time is more soulful. Thank you again
There's a beautiful serenity between the melliflous notes... quite a relief in this day and age of "the fast & furious guitar competition maniacs".
I thought the same. He seems so relaxed as he plays what looks to be a pretty difficult version of the guitar (I bet its easier to tune than its Lute counterpart!)

I completely subscribe to what you say...
EXCLLENT ARTIST....EITHER IN TECHNIC OR IN NUANCE...I WISH YOU HEALTH AND MUCH MORE SUCCESS...!

Quelle magnifique performance ! Bravo !
I am in heaven... ♥️♥️♥️♥️
I find this to be so emotional. Especially the prelude; like an attack of grief... doesn't know where to go...
Those open basses allow for the full expression of the melody. So beautiful. TY from Australia
I disagree: the bass line overpowers everything. This was written for a lute and should be played on a lute.
A different shirt for each movement ... nice touch! Lovely performance. Bravo!

Wonderful. I love how good this sounds, even on ipad. I can only imagine how it must have been in the room...

The basses sound like a theorbo. Indeed, the instrument in it's construction is close to a theorbo - single stung with basses. Sounds great.
It also looks as if it would be a lot easier to make a guitar body rather than a bowl back lute or theorbo.
GORGEOUS! MY FAVORITE WEISS SUITE!!
I like this performer His instrument and music
