Hahaha, "don't be a dickhead" 😀 wise words 😀 My #TopTip is make the videos you'd want to watch, and if when watching your edited video before uploading and after uploading (which everyone should do both to make sure it has uploaded properly) you feel you could still watch it a third time without being bored, then go with it, but if you are bored after the first or second watch through, then ditch it. Another tip... Unless you only ride in cities, stop talking at traffic lights or when a van/lorry/bus is in front of you, hold the thought and continue talking once out on interesting roads, and just cut that part out, no one wants to watch a set of traffic lights or the back of a white van.
Lots of good points. Long self-indulgent intros are my pet hate. The best thing about doing UA-cam is the community of like-minded people you will link up with.
Good solid advice for anybody wishing to go down the You Tube route and presented in a way that will definitely appeal to the every day punter. I'm amazed at the amount of time needed to present a decent video. No doubt there will be many budding You Tubers who will be extremely grateful to you for taking the time to explain the pros and cons. Well done, ER.

Viewers on the other hand, I never thought I would find an audience that would even get my channel. I have now, and you're so right regular viewers are fantastic with the comments they make. They come up with better jokes, know much more than I ever could, provide really useful feedback and of course the get they sarcastic hypocrisy of it all. 😂

Unfortunately a lot of viewers have set the bar for all channels on editing, sound and content on the biggest and best channels. Personally my bar is set for continued viewing on each channel after a half dozen viewings of their channel. Like buying a motorcycle most of the work should be on the dealer but the customer also has a bit of the responsibility of being a good customer.

I do remember you many times tell me to get it below 10 minutes and I could never cut my time I felt. Now I see that I was always thinking and still do, want to fill 22 minutes like a TV show did in the 80s and 90s. But I am attempting to try that now after 8 months. I have made a great attempt to decrease the video time, as I thought everybody would love me as much as I love myself. Plus it's winter time, can't hang out on the beach all day. So quicker the better 😂. Thank you sir. Few will watch, but it's the few that will learn valuable information. Thanks for helping me. When I watch your videos you are the ONLY person that is an exception to the rule...You're super power is the longer form stuff that is chilled and you have a way where you can put the viewer in a state of "zen".... that's a natural skill. I would constructively advise a DJI wireless mic and yes you're content will be limited due to lenth but I still wouldn't cut your stuff down. I support you as a person and your channel.

Just a word in defence. They allow the Tee ing up of subtitles and removing of overlay without missing content. I often watch on silent and hate missing the start because there’s no intro. But I’m blooming odd.😢

I hated public speaking before starting my channel, I used to have to run training sessions both in the Royal Navy and in my current job, doing the motovlogs helped me find my voice, which in turn helped my confidence in public speaking... 🙂 What about Epic Ken Motovlogs or 44Kens or The Barnsaple Flyer?

Ive seen some people publish unedited videos with no chatting and terrible wind noice. My early videos were always 5 minutes long. Intros look professional if done properly but i dont bother. I love editing videos but i also love it when I rant and dont have to edit for long. I'll love £200 a month 😆 I'm lucky if i get that a year. Good points well made. I don't want to make videos about me, I like long unedited rides with just the engine note. Some people have nice voices or good banter. I just upload and archive raw footage so I can review my rides and improve. I mostly use the footage to make shorts. I only just got a GoPro for upcoming Himalayan ride, I'm not sure I like it. Good advice about audio, it's the hardest thing.

Hi Rob, Mine starts to get clunky again after about 1100 miles so generally speaking I would do it after 1000 miles. But I guess its different bike to bike and useage.👍
