Do NOT take a pic until you’ve physically tried the outfit on. I’ve done this so many times only to grab it to throw on when I’m a rush and find out it doesn’t look good together ON me lol.
I am 43 so I do it without the cell phone. I just lay down on my bed and imagine different outfits. Sometimes I get up to see if they will actually match if l’m not sure. Sometimes I fall asleep.😂😂😂😂😂
I would absolutely recommend trying your outfits on before you take a picture of them. Sometimes its hard to now whether the clothes will fit together when wearing them. :)
I tried using one of those apps that let you make outfits. It's easier than doing the outfit lay out session you mentioned in the long run. The app helps me think outside the box. Plus I can just be in bed and not make a complete mess of my room and closet lol 😂. ( I don't enjoy trying on clothes. I'm so glad when UA-camrs do the work and record their outfit combinations! ) The negative is that you have to photograph your items if you use the app. For trips I take pics of outfits I try on but I have to physically try on the combinations. Some things work in theory lying on the bed, but don't work on my body. Great tips! TFS 😊
I just downloaded an app like this! I haven't started using it yet because I've been too busy to take photos of everything haha! I agree it's definitely better in the long run, just gotta put the work in at the start!
I do a lot of shopping online. Since I've started using the Stylebook app, I make sure to download a photo of purchases as soon as I order so I can enter it in the app. I also find that for closet basics (black pencil skirt, white turtleneck, etc.) a photo found online is often close enough for styling the clothing I bought in the past. You really only need to photograph items that have significant details.
I lay out my clothes for each day when I travel. Layering is the key. I could be going to a party one day and sitting in the car for hrs the next day. I make sure I pick similar colors so I can mix and match my accessories and shoes so save space in my travel bag.
Good idea. I think I would do all tops at once, while the bottoms are all out, then do all bottoms with all the tops laid out, and a separate round for dresses. If there’s time, I would try each outfit on to make sure it really does work well.🙂
For the first tip, I do it all on my phone with Smart Closet. It saves a lot of time and when I get bored, I just mix stuff up on there. It also allows you log outfits on your calendar so you know if you're repeating stuff :)
It’s a good Idea but you should know me , cause that room would be a complete mess after words 😂 It’s overwhelming just to think about all the folding and the hanging
I think this is a good idea especially for people who work in office and have to have their work clothes picked out for the week I can just take pictures of all the work clothes I put together and go from there makes it easier to get dressed in the morning
Great ideas, Erin! Am going to try this approach with items like a silk skirt that was tailor-made for me when I worked in Cambodia. Up to now, I haven't tended to reach for it as I have gotten stuck on how to wear it. Using your suggestions I imagine finding some nice combinations that will work. Thanks!
A huge pointer I have is taking a daily outfit of the day photo, so that if you're stuck on ideas, you can repeat a bomb outfit and rule out outfits you didn't enjoy. It can also show you which pieces aren't being used
I've used this process a few times in the last couple months and it's really helped me to stay inspired with what I want to wear. Might have to try doing it again soon since I just ordered a new shirt from ThredUp! :)
This is way easier with an app called Stylebook. Take photos of all your clothes and then you can match up way easier without pulling out your whole wardrobe every time you do this!
Awesome! It would be so cool if you could do a video on this once you've had a play. Its such a good app. Well worth the $4! I also use it when out shopping because I have my whole wardrobe with me. I can see what will go when looking for new items!
Mixing things on the bed always looks good, but on the body it looks totally different. Need to try things on to get a real idea of how things sit together as it is very deceiving unless you have a perfect body and everything looks the same on you as it does on the bed
Great tips! I especially liked the first tip. What has stopped me trying different outfits is not wanting to try them all on. But laying them out is a great idea.
Great tips! Can you do a video of how to style high waisted dressy black pants?I bought ones in H&M and I've been struggling to mix it with the tops, t-shirts.... Thanks!
I love this video! One of my goals is to only wear clothes that make me feel beautiful and comfortable, and since that philosophy will be leaving me with less items I will be using your tips to get more creative with the items I choose to keep. THANK YOU!
Great video! I do advice#1 when I purchase an new item. I have a small wardrobe so I try to make sure the new addition can mix and match with other clothing.
Do NOT take a pic until you’ve physically tried the outfit on. I’ve done this so many times only to grab it to throw on when I’m a rush and find out it doesn’t look good together ON me lol.
Great tip!
Agreed!!!!
Absolutely!!!
You are making all the world of sense! I'm going to do this slowly. Think I'm going to enjoy this! I'm gonna make my own personal lookbook. Thank you!
You are welcome! happy you liked it ❤️
This is better than I thought it would be. Thank you!
Amei muito, arrasou rainha 🙏🌷
Great tips! Thanks for sharing :)
How would a plain white shirt with black jeens and a belt look
This was such a great video! Very helpful. Thank u😊
Happy you liked it 💜
Hi! I'm just in time hahaha
Hope you liked it xx
so you just check what you have in your closed, and use it.... hilarious
90% of my clothes are jeans and t-shirts so I've realized that I just need to get better clothes. 😅
Lol same
I am 43 so I do it without the cell phone. I just lay down on my bed and imagine different outfits. Sometimes I get up to see if they will actually match if l’m not sure. Sometimes I fall asleep.😂😂😂😂😂
haha love it!

True :)
True That
Angela S so true. The shoes too
Only a third of the outfits that look good in my head or laid out actually look good and cohesive on my body.
@@DuvaLH3 Exactly! It might look good paired together when you lay it out in the bed but it may not look so good once on my body 🤦♀️
And you have to deal with all the mess you left behind afterwards 😂
I only have two black leggings xD not many options really
These are useful tips. You have such lovely clothing.
Thanks Laura 💗💗
I’m 59 years old and wished I would have done this so so many years ago! Fabulous video!💕
That's a fun game! Great way to stop being bored with your closet. 😊

I used to use polyvore for outfit ideas. But they cancelled the app. sad
NicNacAttack what's the name of the app?
NicNacAttack what's the app you're using?

Such a good idea!!! I buy stuff as it looks good in the shop, then it just goes into my wardrobe and I forget what I decided I would wear it with 🤔
haha I know that feeling all too well!
Good idea. I think I would do all tops at once, while the bottoms are all out, then do all bottoms with all the tops laid out, and a separate round for dresses. If there’s time, I would try each outfit on to make sure it really does work well.🙂
Great video! I found myself that I must absolutely try on the bottoms before deciding if it's a win or a miss. Just laying it out doesn't speak to me.

Angie Hache so, how do you upload your clothes and looks? I mean, did you take a photo of every single piece?
I actually just downloaded a similar app I'm going to try it out! Just gotta set up some time to photograph everything lol!
It’s a good Idea but you should know me , cause that room would be a complete mess after words 😂 It’s overwhelming just to think about all the folding and the hanging
Yeah but I lost 65 pounds and dropped like 3 sizes. How do I make the clothes I have work? I cannot afford new stuff or hemmed right now.😢
Great! Thank you! I have been doing this method for years! I am happy it still works 4 me! As I am always in a hurry! Have a great day!
I think this is a good idea especially for people who work in office and have to have their work clothes picked out for the week I can just take pictures of all the work clothes I put together and go from there makes it easier to get dressed in the morning
Exactly! Then you don't even have to think about it in the mornings 💜
Your tips are great - and fun! But your follow-thru examples are not exciting or transforming - too safe to be "new" or different!
Lol my name is Erin and my middle name is Elizabeth. Just found and I love your channel!
No way! Twins ❤️
Good ideas!
good idea but I need to try the clothes and shoes on. Cause what looks good laid out can be the opposite when on.
Very creative idea! Will definitely be using this method. Nice job :)
Thank you! xx
honestly, i'm SO insecure about my closet;/
Great ideas, Erin! Am going to try this approach with items like a silk skirt that was tailor-made for me when I worked in Cambodia. Oh good! Happy to hear that. If it's custom made too it's definitely a good piece you don't want to leave just sitting around! xx
It would be much better if you tried them on.
A huge pointer I have is taking a daily outfit of the day photo, so that if you're stuck on ideas, you can repeat a bomb outfit and rule out outfits you didn't enjoy. It can also show you which pieces aren't being used
Love this! 💜
Problem is I only have two pairs of jeans
Omg thank u for this video😍😍
I've used this process a few times in the last couple months and it's really helped me to stay inspired with what I want to wear. Might have to try doing it again soon since I just ordered a new shirt from ThredUp! :)
Ahh I love thredUP ❤️
5:00 I do this!! Great tip
The first outfit is cute, I think the top would look cute with the black/white stripped pants too.
Thank you ❤️
Great idea! I have a closet full and yet don’t have the inspiration or the way of doing more outfits....
I feel the same way sometimes! It's a fun way to go through everything you have and try to play around!

This is such a great idea. I do this, but try on basically everything, which makes it take even longer. I like the idea of just laying stuff out.
