- Hi guys - today's video I'll be sharing my wardrobe insights with you on why you might struggle picking out outfits from your closet and you feel like you have nothing to wear! It's so frustrating when you have a closet full of clothes but you feel like you still have nothing to wear, and getting ready in the morning takes you much longer than it should.

Ellen Rose That sounds like an awesome idea but I live in Europe, so I'm not sure if we have that here. I'm slowly trying to embrace the thought of a minimal wardrobe by mixing and matching what I already own to create new looks, but I still end up buying a new piece every 1-2 months.

If you ever need a video idea do you think you could make a lookbook where every individual item is under $40 or maybe $50? I love your style and I'm trying to look more put together instead of just wearing sweaters every single day haha

My favorite closet organizing tip is asking yourself, “would I buy this now?” And is the answer is no, say goodbye to it. It’s helped me tremendously! I now have a closet full of things I LOVE!

Really good advice to have only the essencial, focusing on pieces you need and makes you feel comfortable (also difficult sometimes, for example if you are gaining or losing weight).

hahahah i'm becoming the type of person who, when i really like a piece, i get it in multiple colours 🙈 sure it can get boring at times bc the cut is the same, but i know it's versatile and flatters my figure very well so it's okay 😊

Love the advice of making a list of things you don't have. Also this advice might make me sound like a slob. But I have 3 washing storage and I've realised. I only end up washing items at the top. If some folk do that too. Then look at that pile dived it to keeping and donating. Then wash and keep or donate. Also to collectors I use to like collecting thick indian traditional scarfs when I was a teen. I'd wear a different one each day. Now I'm 25yrs old don't wear scarfs some are in good condition. If you have clothes in good condition sell them.
True! I've sold some items to consignment stores in the past also, it's a great way to make a little bit of extra cash if you have items that aren't providing you value anymore.

For me is having too many clothes, you forget what you have, I solved it by creating an actual inventory using an app, is a lengthy process but TOTALLY worth, you can save outfits and label them by occasion so everyime you go out you already know a lot of premade outfits
This year, I studied a lot about clothes and what looks good on my petite frame. I realize I don’t wear most of my clothes because most of my blouses are a little too big for me...the shoulder seams don’t even fall on my shoulder. But then again when I buy the smaller size they’re suffocating. I’m usually between XS or S depending on the material and design. I feel bad when I look at my wardrobe thinking if only some pieces are smaller or bigger...it’d be perfect. I even made this mistake with the clothes I purchase 1-2 months ago and only realize it now. Oh well, I didn’t know back then. 🤷🏻♀️

The title of the video seemed very promising, however, the entire video was talking. It would have been more helpful to actually pair basis key pieces with a in trend piece to keep your wardrobe trendy. Perhaps a piece of jewelry, scarf, clutch etc. This is important as not a lot of people have a lot of extra money to constantly update their wardrobe. Thanks for listening.
Thanks for the feedback. I actually have a lot of style guide videos if you're interested in something more visual, as well as my building basics series where I show pieces that I feel are timeless and you can build multiple different outfits with them and keep these pieces for many years. I'm not a person who follows trends heavily because I don't like to constantly update my wardrobe either.

The app Pureple is useful to assess all that you have and to help when shopping so that you can check if don’t have too many of that piece and to make sure you have something that can go with what you already have.

Unfortunately, if you live in a place where you have all 4 seasons, chances are it's normal to not see a good portion of your wardrobe for a year. It's now warmer weather and I'm seeing old favorites since I can put away the heavy sweaters.

Few things... One...I wonder how to budget to rework our wardrobe. I struggled to let go of pieces, now that I don't struggle to let them go anymore I feel like I don't have enough (really, like 5 casual shirts and I am ready to let go of 3 of them, bec I don't feel like I like them anymore ant the one I really love can't fix). Two... Funny thing, I worked slowly on my basics but then I lost a little weight and they dance on me. I don't wanna loose the money... How can I then budget realistically but fast enough to really enjoy the pieces. I remember when I was a teen I had a set budget of $X and I shopped on summer and that was it. Jus in cases when I needed something specific bec of a party or something. Otherwise I shopped once. What's your take on this? Or anyone?
I like to make a list of things I want / need for my wardrobe! That way I can slowly add those things to my closet. Also a lot of my favourite pieces are from stores like Forever21 or H&M that I didn't spend much on but the fabric is nice and they've lasted a long time!

I am working on having essentials in my wardrobe. I recently got a burgundy blazer and was going to purchase a burgundy long cardigan...do you think that is unncessary?
Depends if you'll wear them! I have lot's of things in grey because that's my favourite so if they're different style and fit then why not!

I used to have way too much stuff too! It's definitely a process trimming down your wardrobe. Maybe start by asking yourself which are your absolute favourite pieces that you own, and why? And then slowly start building upon that :)
