Yep, I'm a begonia lover! But,....I focus on the FLOWERS, not so much the leaves. So I focus on acquiring begonias that have magnificent flowers and flower production. You should try it !
In my experience cane begonia like a fairly damp but airy soil mix. I had bought a really leggy/ bare trunk wightii from Wal-Mart (cold damage). Begonia respond really well to applying keiki paste on their leaf nodes. I did it about 6 weeks ago and my begonia has formed an entirely new cane + filled in the bare trunk with a minimum of 8 leaves. I would try it on your crackling rosie, mine looked simular when I started!
Love me some Begonias! Enjoyed seeing your collection as well as your care tips. Wishing you much good luck with these beautiful plants. Think about a possible update on them in six months? That would be enjoyable!
I currently only have Rex Begonias from Lowes and Home Depot. I allow them to dry out almost completely before watering and they have done well the last 6 months. I am looking at getting named varieties in the coming year. Maybe I will try cane begonias as well. Thanks for the information.
Hi Marina! CPG's video sent me here and I'm SO glad to have found your channel! I have recently gotten the begonia bug and really enjoyed learning about new varieties from this video. My favourite from your collection is the begonia pink mix. Can't wait to get my hands on it if and when they come to Australia. Thanks for sharing! I used to struggle with rhizomatous begonias but found that they need quite a chunky, airy soil mix to really thrive. Subbed for more content from you
I have 4 begonias - Begonia looking glass, begonia gryphon, Begonia maculata Wightii and Begonia Maurice Amy. Maurice Amy grows very fast. My maculata needs more light. My favorite is Begonia looking glass and my wishlist plant is Begonia listada.
Linda Dawn wow and M.Amy. how beautiful. I have a couple begonias. I love my Beef stake begonia. It's my absolute favorite 🤗 new from That Plant Guy, nice to find another planty friend ✌️💚😊
I love begonias!! I have a begonia maculata (not sure if it's wightii or not, apparently if it has pure white flowers then it is but if it has pink flowers it's some hybrid??), begonia lady vanderwilt, begonia down home (she is flowering for me!!), begonia Steve's Leaves Titan, and begonia Steve's Leaves midnight skies!!
Oh I’ve never heard that about the flowers! I think mine was white last time it bloomed but I’ll have to check to make sure. And your begonia section sounds amazing 😍
Loved this video! I will definetly pick up a begonia or two after this haha. Also what is that plant on the floor behind you on the left called? (Leaves have a mint colour which get darker towards the outsides, with some speckling). It’s so gorgeous!!😍 does anyone know?!
I love the video. Quick question, how do you propagate your pink minx and Linda Dawn? I just got cuttings of both. And I want to give them the best chance of surviving. Thanks!
@@unclestuntman I think 50% should be good. If it seems particularly stubborn, than get the dome. You don't want to overdue it than accidentally rot it. I've done that one too many times lol

Huge begonia lover here. Cane and Rex here!!! Great video!!!! 😃🌱🪴
Thank you so much 💚 unfortunately I lost my collection to powdery mildew while I was out of town. Thinking of getting back into them 😭🥴
@@HelloJungleRoom ohhhhh so sorry to hear that!!!! 😞
@@paultheplantparent2702 it’s okay! It’s nice looking back on this video tho. Begonias are the best

Ohhh such good ones! I love looking glass too, definitely on my need to buy list. Thanks for stopping by 💚
That Pink Minx 😍 it does look like tree leaves and I think I need one!
I have a number of wightii... I need to stake them alllll (they be floppy).
Yesss the pink minx is amazing. And they really do get so floppy and top heavy

Thank you so much for coming over!! And I definitely agree, the beef stake begonia is just out of this world 😍

I don’t own any begonias but I’m totally gonna try one!!
You definitely should! They’re so adorable

Thank you! And it’s a dieffenbachia camouflage. Got it from Home Depot last summer!

Thanks!
You can stick them in water on right in soil with some humidity! It’s pretty easy. And they’re amazing! Good luck
@@HelloJungleRoom Thank you for your response! When you say humidity, is 50% enough or should I put a dome over them and increase it to 70-80%?

@@HelloJungleRoom Thank you! I appreciate the advice!
That Lana noid might be a looking glass
❤❤❤❤
Love rex begonias but they don't love me. They die I buy more. Will try cane begonias.
Canes are definitely easier than rhizomes! Lol
Way easier 😅
Not growing much. Put in some led shop lights. It will make a 99% difference. Mine grows as big as yours in 2-3 weeks.
They definitely needed more light, thank you!
