Elderly Couple STUNNED with What I FOUND BURIED under this Overgrown Grass, Wait until you see this! #overgrownlawn
This Elderly Couple reached out as their yard has gotten out of control due to health issues and she explained she just wants her yard back. I drove out there and was stunned at how much Overgrowth there was. This has to be one of the largest trimming jobs I’ve ever done. They were shocked to see what all I found buried underneath all this overgrown grass

I'm a senior myself, and I hear you. Thirty odd years ago I couldn't understand why an older neighbour was turning more and more of his lot back to grass instead of flower beds, etc. Now I'm getting closer to the age he was then, I understand ! In recent years I've cut back the flower beds quite a bit, only growing what survives the best, and is the easiest to care for. As long as I can still walk ( ! ) I can still mow the grass, and look after the few flower beds I have left ! I know I'm blessed to be able to still do it all ! :)

I'm trying to bring mine back now I started with 10 green with red center bromeliads and I have a cast of thousands. Yesterday someone from one of my internet sites came by with her husband it must have cut it off a hundred to put around her trees. There's so many other plants because I've been sick for the last 2 years the grandfather themself all over my yard. I hate to chop them down when I can find somebody who could take him home. Live oaks ferns palms scheffleras monasteria you name it it gave birth while I was sick now I'm trying to just get my gutters cleared they're overgrown with purple wandering Jew and ferns and other Vines. But it's winter time here so I'll be able to remain outside more. Thank you for your comment all of you on site like this keep me going and inspired. God bless America!

Wow, Erik, that was some job! They could have a garden supply sale and make a good amount of money off all the excess things and that would help clean up the place. You just can’t do it anymore when you’re elderly. The mind wants to, but the body just can’t. 😊💖🦋🕊

As we got older we, meaning my husband, found it harder and harder to deal with the garden. So we downsized, found the house too cramped for us, then moved again. Now we are in a bigger house with only a 5m backyard which is all decking, a small Japanese garden, and a rocky garden with a water feature. The front is decking and stones. We only have plants in pots which are all around. The only grass is out front on the nature strip which is required by council. It takes my husband not even an hour to cut and trim the grass. We still have a beautiful outdoors which is well under our control. It’s very easy for a garden to get out of control.

When I saw some of those ancient garden tools appear from under the foliage - an old push mover ,what looked like a long, metal handled old style edger, an old rusty wheelbarrow - WOW what a great vintage display you could make with them - perhaps arranged into a perennial flower bed - mulch it all down nicely, to keep the weeds back - it would look fabulous ! I'm a gardener, myself - I'm loving this restoration !

Who would've thought all those items were hidden underneath all that overgrowth. Amazing what a good clean out can do for appearances.

They must be thrilled to find all of their garden treasures. They have been working on that for years and it only takes a few months for weeds and vines to over run the property! You went gangbusters on that jungle! Kudos for your caring and work!

Phenomenal job. Not only the overgrowth but the abundance of yard decorations to work around. They should pick some of their favorites to keep and then have a massive yard sale.

Erik, you've breathed a lifetime of memories back into that backyard! Great job! My sister is a horticulture major from college, and, would've had a field-day with bringing back to life that paradise escape from the "rat race" called life and enjoyed a moment of peace with a cup of coffee at the "paradise diner" that is welcoming you to sit at the table and unwind! Nice work, I think Lawton would've gotten a major charge out of this job site!😁👍❤️🐻🎶🧸😿 Doug

The cut down perennials will come back and then some. Seeds scattered will pop up. Even annuals cut down will pop up somewhere in this garden. Oh if only we had pics of its former glory!

You need to buy a pair of snake boots to carry in your truck for jobs like this jungle. Be careful and don't pick up any moving sticks. You are a blessing to many people. Keep up the good work.
