Me to. 😂No one is touching my hair except myself or my cousin who is a retired hair stylist. I go natural now and have learned to do my hair myself. I went to a stylist about two years ago to have my hair braided and when I took the braids out the hair line was in patches and my hair didn't grow at all and that was it 😠for me.
My 78 yr old mom is an ole school hair stylist. "Cosmetologist" since 1965! Same characteristics as mentioned in the vid but she will also feed you and pray with AND for you if you like! We truly appreciate our ole school stylist! Thank you for sharing ❤
That’s why I take my daughter to the same hairstylist that did my hair in junior high school. I’m 46 now. She was the only one I trusted to do my daughters first silk press. My daughter was very comfortable with her. She’s always ready when I get there even when I’m early. Her shop is an old 2 bedroom house they converted. Her daughter, husband, and brother in law work in there as well. When she can’t do hair anymore, I’ll be going to her daughter. I’ve watched her daughter just to see how she treats clients 😂. There is nothing like old school hairstylist.

Oh girl when I say I felt that - “made me pay a $50 deposit while cursing me out”😂😂😂😂 I can’t tell you how many times I was interested in getting my hair done by someone I saw on Instagram. Went on their site to check prices but stopped immediately after reading the aggressive rules etc lol I know some people have had bad experiences with clients and therefore they’re trying to set boundaries and show they mean business but some ppl are doing the most.
It's such a turn off! I had one block me from making an appointment online and charge double the normal deposit. I had went to her once before and I got there about 10 minutes late with notice. I did nothing to this woman, but she has a large following on social media so I guess she thinks I need her. I refuse to play these games. She wasn't getting any more of _my_ money!

This is great. However, these new clients want to be braided up with a wig on top, & then want the wig cut & styled. So washing and trimming prior are extra fees. That's like doing two cuts on 1 head. Fortunately, you have hair and don't need all those services. People now in these days don't care to maintain their own hair. But they want slayed wigs...

My aunt still does my hair she's been doing my hair since I was 7 years old. I trust no one else with my hair, and my hair is healthy, thick, long, and strong! She never put harmful chemicals in my hair, only organic oils mixed in with a good old-fashioned scalp massage!
What I've learned over the years is finding the perfect technicians for any of my beauty or body regimens. People move around, change careers, retire, and transition. Don't wait till the last minute to start searching for replacements. Nothing will ever be the way it used to be, including products and the old school ways!!
Ask an old church lady where they get their hair done. Not unusual for her stylist to be someone who has been her stylist for many years and has a whole salon in her basement, porch or an extra room in the house. I LOVE IT

I agree with all other than the nobody being in the chair part ! Girl bye we use to be at the salon all day because they would shampoo you sit you under the dryer then move on to the next head curling the girl before you then continuing the rotation
Right!!! They definitely kept the rotation moving (for the most part), but they were almost always working on more than one head at a time. I think the biggest difference being I was relaxed then and drying your hair in a wrap or in rollers was the usual order of business.. It seems like most primarily blow dry now, and don't sit you under the dryer as long, if at all.
@@MsJay0913 exactly and nobody minded (for the most part lol) because the gossip was good, latest talk show was on the tv, the booster man came, and as a kid there was always somebody else baby there too for me to laugh and play with! They really don’t utilize the dryer anymore, most prefer steam treatment now opposed to deep conditioning under a hood dryer.. when I was little it was a hooded dryer for what felt like forever then a quick blow dry to straighten and make sure you’re scalp is dry lol

Saving your hair! Trim in sections etc! Washed your hair 👀…and it was not a up charge 😅…I’m missing my girl, because it’s hard to find a stylist in South Florida to take care of hair that comes from your scalp 😅….

I agree with all other than the nobody being in the chair part ! Girl bye we use to be at the salon all day because they would shampoo you sit you under the dryer then move on to the next head curling the girl before you then continuing the rotation

Right!!! They definitely kept the rotation moving (for the most part), but they were almost always working on more than one head at a time. I think the biggest difference being I was relaxed then and drying your hair in a wrap or in rollers was the usual order of business.. It seems like most primarily blow dry now, and don't sit you under the dryer as long, if at all.
@@MsJay0913 exactly and nobody minded (for the most part lol) because the gossip was good, latest talk show was on the tv, the booster man came, and as a kid there was always somebody else baby there too for me to laugh and play with! They really don’t utilize the dryer anymore, most prefer steam treatment now opposed to deep conditioning under a hood dryer.. when I was little it was a hooded dryer for what felt like forever then a quick blow dry to straighten and make sure you’re scalp is dry lol
Yeah that's ALWAYS been a thing. Actually doing one head at a time is NEW.

❤❤❤ I’m a 80’s baby…and this is what I expect! I recently moved from Connecticut…where my hair dresser/stylist was on point with everything. Detangled hair from the ends to the roots!! Saving your hair! Trim in sections etc! Washed your hair 👀…and it was not a up charge 😅…I’m missing my girl, because it’s hard to find a stylist in South Florida to take care of hair that comes from your scalp 😅….
