I feel like we've come full-circle to where I'd rather go back into a physical store than shop on Amazon. So many low quality products. Hard to find good stuff.

So weird but very true. Amazon's saving grace is their return policy, but even then - what's your time and sanity worth having to go return and re-order countless times? Counterfeits of name brands have also run amuck.

Thank you! Info like this is important seeing there's more GM/Chevy standard vans on the road than any other van.

Amazon likes to pull the "You searched for the exact part number, but here's something that is close enough to fool you" trick too. You have to be really careful with Amazon and eBay when ordering items like these.
In the auto parts world, if you keep searching hard enough for the cheapest price you will very often end up finding the pot of crap at the end of the rainbow. That being said I've saved a ton of money over the dealer or local parts stores by shopping online.

I've long since learned my lesson to never trust the online "fitment" guides.
The auto parts world is a strange place.
I recall working at the mom & pop auto parts store in high school. AutoZone was selling the same brand and part number at their regular price cheaper than our own warehouse would supply it for.
As much as I would love to support the little guys, my budget isn't unlimited. I've found myself purchasing more and more parts from RockAuto and my oils from Walmart.

Tim, thank you for sharing all these videos. I just had to replace the sliding door handle and all those clips broke. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Thanks for letting me know stuff I didn't know I needed to know, but do need to know! I appreciate in advance, because I am sure I will run into this at some point. I have had my Express for 10 years now, and wouldn't or couldn't easily replace it in today's market.

Happy to save others the frustration!
Solid platform for sure though. Time tested!

Good to call out these counterfeit / poorly manufactured / incorrect Amazon items. I have had issues with parts on Amazon as well.

Thank goodness for Amazon's customer service is pretty understanding when it comes to product issues.
However, counterfeit products and countless fake reviews make it tough to shop.
      Really unfortunate!

I had the opposite problem with some of those clips once - they were too tight of a fit and they got stuck in the metal frame of the door panel. I was lazy and tried to use a screwdriver to pry them free instead of getting the appropriate tool and paid the price; screwdriver slipped and my hand flew into the door panel recess, taking the top off of my pinky finger on the sharp metal edge as it went past! Trip to emergency to get it stitched back on and I still have the scar to look at every time I see those clips… Moral of the story is; use the right tool for the job! 👍🏻

Man, that turned nasty REALLY QUICK! Glad you saved your pinky! I've had some close calls as well, but luckily no ER visits.
