Great episode. Love seeing J. Reiger make the list. After trying the first hazmat bottle of Private Stock, I was ended up buying about 10 other J. Reiger bottles. The Wyatt Earp (160 proof) is excellent. I am glad to send the Judge a sample if he is interested. Also, 13Th Colony 15th Anniversary is hazmat adjacent at 139+ proof. It is excellent.
The blind that I sent you has a really nice hazmat in there! I had an Obtainium at a blind bottle share and it was pushing 160. We couldn't pick it out because it drank so far below it's proof. I did try the J. Reiger in a hazmat blind and I believe it came in 3rd out of 4. I have a Barton sourced Rare Character coming in at 140 that is phenomenal! The Cowboy Bourbon is one of my favorites, but I can see why some people wouldn't like it. That Corbin Cash was excellent! We will be sampling some Garrison Brothers for a pick this week, or next. 4 hazmats and 2 pretty close to hazmat. Cheers!
@ I know you’ve got a crazy schedule. We’re gonna try something different tomorrow night and have a virtual tasting party. I’m expecting Murphy’s Law to come in to play. Merry Christmas!!
You on the floor 😂😂😂. I have 1 hazmat bottle I purchased a couple years back. It is still sealed as it kind of scares me to sip on, relax and enjoy. It’s a pick of Obtanium light whiskey and I just don’t seem to find myself saying this is the day, always another time 😅. Cheers and happy holidays Judge
I've got 3 open hazmats. 1 is a 2021 Coy Hill at 141.2, another is a Copper Skye (MGP) 16 yr at 144.3 and the last is a WFE purple top 10 yr that is 150.5.
Judge, Love that bottle of J. Rieger. Got a store pick from SC at 151.5 proof. Awesome bottle. Another fav is from Broad Branch Distillery in Winston Salem NC called Big Winston. A store pick of Big Winston at 141 proof is fantastic. Also have a Corbin Cash at 146.2 which is amazing. Merry Christmas!
The thing about hazmat for me is not that I can't handle it (in small doses), it's because most of it is out of my price range. My memory is hazy (probably because of the high proof), but my best memories of hazmat are a Lost Lantern sample given to me by a relative in Colorado that clocked in at 140+ proof, luckily only a sample, could have been trouble. Also, a VERY early (pre-2019) ECBP that put me into the never-never land way too easily. I like your recommendations. Another interesting video.
This video got we wondering how many hazmat's I have. I knew it was many, but 22 was alot more than I thought I had. Highest is a WWS Wyatt Earp 13yr at 162 Proof. My favorites are WFE 9 yr at 143.6, Lost Lantern Rich Grain Distilling Bourbon at 140, Lost Lantern Corbin Cash at 146.2 and a River Roots Straight Malt (Seelbach's pick) at 147.12. Cheers! 🥃🥃
Oh, my daughter just finished her last class at Temple! She walks in the spring. Cheers to the cherry and white!
Congrats to you and your family! Go Temple..
I only have a Short Barrel Hazmat but it’s delicious! I have multiple bottles of JDSBBP rye and whiskey that are 135 though

Broad Branch out of VA, Big Winston. Store Pick from Heritage Liquor in Greenville, SC, 141 proof, very nice!!
I have a Haz J Reiger and it definitely sipps below it's proof. Such an awesome pour.
It really does. It’s one of my go-to’s for sure

Sounds like you have some excellent pours ahead of you. In Jan we gotta find a date for our livestream.

I hear you! Hazmats can be tricky!
I got the Wyatt Earp as well, 160 proof and it’s really good!
160 proof.. holy crap
I’ve only got one hazmat and it’s the Obtanium. Mine is 154.4 proof finished in port wine barrels. Aged 26 year. Great whiskey about $110.
I only have had the opportunity to try one Hazmat whisky, the Belgium Owl Intense. Very tasty and didn't drink like 70% abv.

Wow Willett with some heat!!
I just picked up a bottle of Jacob’s Pardon 18 year American Whiskey @ 142.7 proof and it is fire but tons of flavor too
🔥

Great picks! Cheers! Merry Christmas Chip…

Fair points

Wow that's a lot of heat!
I've got hazmat GTS (2007, 2008 and 2009). Hot isn't the word for it, lava is more apt. I usually add a nice ball of ice to enjoy it.
Lava lol
I got a NBC 34 yr old @153pf thats delicious. Its definitely bringing the heat lol
Nice find! That’s a good one.
Hazmat has to drink lower than 140 for me to enjoy. I am loving Lost Lantern Corbin Cash 8yr Bourbon coming in at 146.2 prf
Lol, I'm planning a business trip to Kansas City and thinking about a J Rieger tour. Probably need to go by Holladay also.
That sounds like a fun trip!
Hazmats are rough !!
According to the Ohio liquor app there is a distillery that has one at 160 proof. I would love to try a sample but it's a distillery exclusive.
Wow! That’s wild. I’ve never seen one that high!
GO OWLS!
Wait until you try a Charbay pick. Recent one I had was a 154 proofer. 140 ain't nothin XD
Lol
The closest I have to hazmat is a Kings County Pick at 129 proof. That's enough for me!
I hear ya Liane.
The 13th Colony BP rye is my pick for best hazmat. You'd never guess the proof
I bet.. they have some bangers!!!
Nice passed out shot. Looks familiar 😂😂
You know it 😂
Can't find hazmat in nj 😢
🎉🎉🎉
