As an absinthe drinker, thank you for explaining the correct way to consume and prepare absinthe. You seem to have explained things correctly and accurately. Much appreciated, sante!
Being unacquainted with Absinthe's characteristics, I bought a bottle and when I realized I had quite a bit, I put water in it to get the level up so the rest of the family wouldn't notice how much I drank. The way my heart sank when the clear green turned milky white when I added the water is something I can laugh at now. At the time, I was questioned about this and had to admit what I did.

Czech Republic never produced absinthe before the 1990s. And most Czech "absinths" are not real absinthe; they're just vodka with some dubious plant extracts and artificial green dye.
Any of the Jades are high quality. Jade Terminus Oxygénée is my favorite. Groen Opal is also very good. If you're looking for some that's fairly easy to find here in the states, Pernod Orignale is a good choice. Just make sure it's the Pernod absinthe and not the pastis. Usually around 70+ dollars a bottle. St. George is probably the easiest to find, but it's a little off if ur looking for a classic tasting absinthe.
I make my own absinthe. I use a recipe from the mid 1800's. My understanding is that absinthe made commercially in the US lacks the thujone of real absinthe, but I have seen on the web where it can be purchased from France online, but it is very expensive. (looking at the volume, and shipping cost what I found was about $100 for 500ml bottle) Drinking real absinthe produces a subtle alcohol high, that regular spirits like drinking whisky lacks. Drinking absinthe and catching a fine "buzz", I have the visited a local bar where i had to switch to my normal stand-by, Beam and Coke, but I notice the fine buzz wares off and is eventually replaced with the normal Jim Beam alcohol high that lacks the subtle "brightness" of absinthe. Unless the absinthe is produced outside of the USA, or distilled by somebody like me, then peoples opinion on the effects of what drinking absinthe is like are less than worthless.
I just saw a documentary featuring a couple French & English historians who wrote books on the history & said the Absinthe recipe was created by a female herbalist.

That method has only existed since the 1980's. The water and sugar method originated in France in the late 1800s so it's actually closer to how absinthe used to be drunk at the height of its popularity.
What are you tripping on? Distillation had already been invented long before the Egyptians. The Babylonians had evidence of distillation and it can be reasonably inferred that distillation had been invented alongside pottery.
