Cozy Fall Recommendations in no particular order. Starting with novels, we have A Skeleton in the Family by Leigh Perry, Goblin Market by Christina Rossetti, Blood Price by Tanya Huff, Dead Collections by Isaac Fellman, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving, The House With Chicken Legs by Sophie Anderson, Ghost Wall by Sarah Moss, The Princess and the Goblin by George MacDonald, The Little Shop of Found Things by Paula Brackston, Reincarnation Blues by Michael Poore, Wicked by Gregory Maguire and The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. I also have some graphic novel recommendations. I love reading graphic novels during the fall. Death & Sparkles by Rob Justus, Super Boba Café by Nidhi Chanani, Kim Reaper, Vol. 1: Grim Beginnings by Sarah Graley, The Nightmare Brigade #1: The Case of The Girl from Deja Vu by Franck Thilliez, Yorick and Bones by Jeremy Tankard, Séance Tea Party by Reimena Yee, The Me You Love In The Dark by Skottie Young, Kin: The Good Neighbors #1 by Holly Black, Friends With Boys by Faith Erin Hicks, Anya's Ghost by Vera Brosgol, Garlic and the Vampire by Bree Paulsen, Archival Quality by Ivy Noelle Weir, Feathers by Jorge Corona, Paper Girls by Brian K. Vaughan and finally Night Cry by Borja González. I hope you find this list helpful or at least entertaining.
I LOVE Bunny!! I was scared I wasn't going to "get it" so it sat on my shelves for a couple years.. finally read it last year (5⭐!) and did a re-read this year for a Bunny Readathon... and annotated this time! Glad I did that because I caught some deeper things I initially missed. We had fun discussing theories once the Readathon was over (some had read it for the first time, others were re-readers). Honestly even a second re-read would be good, may do that next year. 🐰
Rereading it is so rewarding, Mona Awad does so many subtle things you absolutely don't notice until you've read the whole thing. The first ever description of Ava shocked me how early she set stuff up!
Gothic or Cozy Autumn vibes recs: Spitting Gold by Carmella Lowkis Our Hideous Progeny by C.E. McGill (Frankenstein-inspired) The Ghost Cat by Alex Howard The September House by Clarissa Orlando The Cautious Traveller's Guide to the Wastelands by Sarah Brooks The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving The Secrets of Hartwood Hall by Katie Lumsden We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson Gothic or Cozy Autumn vibes TBR: (in addition to The Death of Jane Lawrence mentioned in the video).. The God of Endings by Jacqueline Holland Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier A Study in Drowning by Ava Reid The Silent Companions by Laura Purcell The Lights of Prague by Nicole Jarvis The Shadow Key by Susan Chapman-Stokes The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde Salt and Broom by Sharon Lynn Fisher (Jane Eyre retelling/inspo) Belladonna, and Foxglove, and Wisteria - trilogy by Adalyn Grace I have many more on my Master TBR but I'll keep it there for now 😊
Nice video - lotta book reviews. Related to the witch book review, you might like "Margaret Hamilton From Cleveland Ohio to the Land of Oz " about her journey from kindergarten teacher to the Wicked Witch! Yes - she was a kindergarten teacher before becoming an actress.
First time watcher - that's a great list. A cozy but still creepy book with autumnal vibes that I really enjoyed recently is Crow Folk by Mark Stay.
Ooh I’ll have to look into that one, I’ve not heard of it!
I would recommend starling house! It’s also a haunting house/suspence Book! I really really enjoyed it, felt like a fever dream!
"fever dream" is exactly how you get me to read a book!!!
