My sister and I saw box in concert the night he got home from his cancer treatment he came to his theater. He gave a fantastic concert. After the show he and his wife met with fans and signed autographs and talked with fan. He was very tired from hi treatments then traveling from Houston to Branson but was so gracious. He passed away a few weeks later. I will always remember our talk with him and his concert
Hi Carol , I had the pleasure of meeting boxcar for the first time when I did a country music crawl around the states in 1979 , at Branson ,I was so impressed with this man that I couldn't wait to get back again, I managed to get there in 1992 and was extatic when he was doing shows at his theatre in Branson, like you say after the show he mixed with the audience and I was lucky enough to have got to talk to him for around fifteen minutes,he just wanted to know more about Australia, it's a talk that I will never forget,so sad to have lost most of the greats of country music and we will never see the likes of them again, cheers from Tasmania Australia
This show was recorded at the Television Center in London for the BBC, Johnny and Box were both from the USA and Colorado were from Scotland so not sure where you are getting an Irish connection
