Surprised Volcarona didn''t make the list. Not only is it crazy strong, but it's literally treated like a legendary pokemon (especially in pokemon black & whiteand it's sequels)
I suppose that's because Volcarona never had a chance to shine in the anime. It has very few appearances and the only notable one was where it was defeated by a Jellicent.

yeah Salamence is a terrifying monster machine capable of destroying almost all pokemon, except legendaries and a few other pseudos
Honestly shocked that Greninja doesn't even get an honourable mention here??? Especially when we all cheered and were enthralled everytime Ash-Greninja came on the scene and stole the show throughout the Kalos Saga and even in Master/Ultimate Journey?

Bruhh, Greninja is not as good as the other Pokemon here, It's just really favoured by the anime.

4 of these Pokemon Ash owns: Charizard, Dragonite, Gengar and Lucario. 4 of these Pokemon Ash doesn’t own: Machamp, Alakazam, Gardevoir and Metagross. 2 Ash could’ve owned: Garchomp if he evolved his Gible and Tyranitar if Ash kept the Larvitar he hatched and evolved it.
And for those who are responsible for not letting some of Ash's Pokemon evolve into their stronger and even more powerful forms and letting Ash owns those Pokemon in the first place:The Writers.

Thats not the point of the story based on the genre, this is not a story where the main character have to be overpower, but its a story when the mc have to keep fighting even with his weakest state and never give up. Pseudo legendaries are not legendaries.
They are not even a thing in the anime or anything related to Pokemon.
It is fan-made term for Pokemons whose powers rivals that of the legendaries and having the total base stats of 600.
A really solid listing here and Tyranitar is a perfect pick for #1! I'd also add Greninja, Gyarados, Blastoise, Venusaur, and the Hoenn starter trio as honorable mentions to that list.
Ttar gets shit on competitively, Blastoise isn't that good either even with shell smash. Venusaur is a beast tho.

If we're going not by anime but by competitive 6v6 singles then it's either Darmanitan-Galar or Dracovish. If we include megas and use natdex rules, it's 100% Mega Gengar which is banned into the AG tier and sits alongside Mega Rayquazar, Calyrex-S and Miraidon (and Shedinja, Leipard but we don't talk about those).

Alakazam is a strong power pokemon for any pokemon team but it's a glass cannon though but gangar is such Pokemon with great special defense

Not all greninjas are powerful, only Ash's greninja is insanely powerful. The list is for general non legendary. In that case Pikachu didn't make the list 😅

I think there needs to be a list of Pokémon from the VGC that are the most powerful. Or maybe a list on the most used Pokémon used in VGC tournaments. It would be a different list, not to say these Pokémon aren’t but there are some crazy powerful non legendary Pokémon like Houndstone, Snorlax, Gyarados, Ferrorthorn, Primarina, Incineroar, Greninja, Swampert, and Dracovish.
U mentioned vgc but incineroar is only good Pokemon out of these . Primarina is just close to being good.
There has been teams with the Pokémon I listed that won championships. And actually don’t sleep on Houndstone with having Sand Rush as an ability and Last Respects is a broken move.

I’m sure there are people using Houndstone. Heck, someone used Pachirisu in the 2014 championship and won the entire thing. Anything’s possible. It’s not that I don’t pay attention to Smogon, but also check Wolfe Glick’s channel as well as False Swipe Gaming as resources too.

I feel like Gyrados should be here. It’s considered one of the strongest non starter. It’s the first shiny you get in gaming history with the red Gyrados.,plus a main character has one.
I wouldn’t have won my Pokémon platinum nuzlocke without alakazam and garchomp but I’m surprised hydreigon didn’t make the cut given how overpowered it is in competitive battle

As a kid I always thought Lucario was a legendary Pokémon. I feel so stupid realizing he wasn’t
Its because, up till that point, they didn't really give Pokemon their own movie unless they were legendary. Movie 3 was arguably about Unown, but Entei wae the one with actual character.
I thought Lucario was supposed to be legendary before they introduced Diamond and Pearl game. This was when they release Lucario and Mew movie
Tyranitar is one of my favourite Pokemon
I have Lucario(mega), Dragonite, Gengar(mega+gigantamax), Charizard(mega x) and Tyranitar. I'm happy with what I have but I won't complain if I got Garchomp, Gardevoir or Metagross🤔🤷.
Personally Greninja should have been here given its strength in competitive battling, and cos of Ash's.

A lot of these particular Pokemon may not be legendary, But i can remember back in the earlier seasons of the Pokemon Anime when they were classified as "rare." Especially Dragonite because at the time Dragonite was considered to be one of the rarest dragon type Pokemon in existence.
Greninja deserves to be very high on this list.....I kinda disagree with this tier list :(
I felt like Arcanine should've been on this list. It's literally considered the closest thing to a legendary pokemon, because it's called the legendary pokemon. I suppose OVERALL, it's not that big of a powerhouse, but it can have extremely horrifying sets on it.
