- Revitalization in Gary, Indiana is underway. Today, construction crews broke ground on a new neighborhood stabilization effort. Volunteer construction crews are demolishing abandoned homes to make way for the future of Gary.

The City of Gary tried the same thing back in the 90's under then Mayor Barnes. I'll believe it when I see it
The city of Detroit promised it too. We even moved there to help! Nothing EVER happened and we're back home now.
The only future they're working on is removing the vacant homes. Nobody in their right mind would buy a new home there.
You’re absolutely wrong about that. People from Chicago have been buying homes here in droves. More space and MUCH MUCH lower property taxes.

A waste of time, energy and money breaking these homes down. This is a textile manufacturing town and these houses are meant for workers.
Aetna will never ever get back to what is use to be. Might as well tear it all down and rebuild it. It use to be a great neighborhood. Im glad there finally doing something though.

I did...I live by a 6-mile beach surrounded by the national park with the highest biodiversity mile for mile in the country...on the shore of the greatest lake....
