- If you have just bought a brand new DSLR Camera or you are planning to buy a new one, the various features and options can be a little confusing. Well, in this video, we show you how the different options like aperture, shutter speed & ISO work and how you can take that perfect photo, with effects like bokeh or blur, with a DSLR.
We are demonstrating this video using a Canon EOS 70D DSLR.

This explains a lot but i must have done something wrong in manual mode, I have 1300D and i wanted to learn the manual mode so i started using that and set my shutter speed and aperture value and iso everything is fine to me as it shows in the video but now i am have a problem, in manual mode everything is dark, display is dark until i pop up the camera's flash, if i close the flash then display goes dark and if i press the flash button and flash pops up then i can see the display, so please tell me what I've done wrong. Thank you so much 😃😃

For all those who are commenting about his eyes, you have no idea how painful it is psychologically to live with it. I've lived with it over 5 years and it did destroyed my self confidence. We must appreciate him to have the courage to come out with it. I could never allow anyone to take picture of me when I had the condition.

aperture = how much depth of field you want to achieve in a scene in-other words aperture is inversely proportional to depth of field.
shutter speed = It depends upon your object whether it is moving or static . if your object is static then you have less shutter speed and if your object is moving then you have more shutter speed to capture it otherwise you ended up having a blur image.

I didn't understand something.. At 6:17, you mention, "A Higher Aperture would let more light but also create less sharp images, AS IT IS CAPTURING ALMOST EVERYTHING AROUND IT". But earlier you had mentioned that a higher aperture value would concentrate on one object in the middle blurring the surrounding. I'm confused, how it can capture almost everything when it is actually concentrating on object in the middle. Can someone clarify. P.S. I'm a beginner with absolutely zero knowledge on using high tech cameras. Txx.

As he told aparature value determine the focal point, higer the aparature closer the focal point, causing focus only object it point to and blurring out other objects !!

Shutter speed is the only thing that was still slightly confusing me. I always thought you wanted your shutter speed adjusted a little higher to eliminate shakiness in photos. I’ve noticed that in manual mode it seems as if shutter speed affects the brightness of the photo more than the other two.
