I think your points are valid. But you've already made a clear point of what I was thinking, why not have bought the Interceptor 650 in the first place?
At the end of the day it's your bike and you've gotta be happy with it.
I have a Classic 500 that I bought cheap second hand. The previous owner(s) did all sorts of dumb mods to it.
Cafe racer style bars that hit the tank. Indicators that make it unroadworthy. Alloy bar end mirrors instead of heavy ones. A muffler that gave me a headache and offered less power than stock. Which is hilarious, because every HP counts when you have so little.
Overfilled oil, which bled into the airbox, covering the the airfilter, and dropping all over the exhaust.
Too low a heat range spark plug, poorly adjusted clutch, dry chain, poorly adjusted.
I've nearly got the bike back to OEM standard. And it now gets up the big hill near me in top gear. The bars vibrate less with the OEM bars with the end weights. And with the OEM exhaust, it's nice and quiet and actually has grunt again.
Everyone I know loved the bike as I bought it. And while it all looks and sounds cool, it under performed, was uncomfortable and handled poorly. With it all back to OEM, it runs better, sounds better and feels better to ride.
      In my opinion.
And that's why my thoughts are, do whatever you want to the bike that makes you happy and makes you love it.

  • @sumansengupta9280

Hi, just got to say that if you can wrap your ramp with a rough cloth , the one that many riders use to wrap the exhaust, that will increase the friction and it will be safe n easy for you to load / unload the bike, even when it's raining.
    Have a nice day ahead.

I'm really looking forward to seeing that RE drag bike. When I have used ramps for getting a bike into a pickup truck or van, I used a slightly wider ramp so there is room for my feet and I ride it up. That way you don't stall it and the bike does all the work for you. But I love how yours strap on to the truck to keep the ramp from sliding. The ramp I use has none and the weight of the bike keeps it in place once you roll the front tire on. Bit nerve racking but so far so good.

I own a RE Continental 650. I love it, and I'm 60 years old. Yours is a goofy modification. If you don't like a Cafe Racer style bike, why did you buy one? The whole idea of this type of bike is for making quick nice rides from place to place. It's not for commuting or touring.

As I said in the video, I should have bought the Interceptor. If you're 60 and giving me a hard time, I would suggest you listen to my words again before critising.
Enjoy you 650 Stu. All the best

@@ThrottleDownunder Yes, I sold my 1959 HD XLCH Sportster magneto-ignition-knee-crusher for a good price and bought the RE after seeing Jay Leno's Garage review of the Continental with the money I got from my sale. With a better sense, I suppose I should have bought the Intercepter (same price), but I'm in good shape still and like to relive my days when I had my 1969 Triumph Trident racer. I apologize for my comment, and let's all enjoy our rides.

@Karl Allen man you are spot on mate, if you buy continental GT you have to commit as i and you did.
I could have bought intersepter which was 30000 Rupee cheaper in India than GT (30000 equates to one month of avg starting salary in india) its some serious cash.
but i choose Continental GT as i wanted the front end feel.

If you look through my videos you'll see I rode both back to back. Preferred the GT at the time. But over time decided I didn't like it.
I still love my GT. Seating position is changed now.
      Royal Enfield are great bikes.
