I think your points are valid. But you've already made a clear point of what I was thinking, why not have bought the Interceptor 650 in the first place? At the end of the day it's your bike and you've gotta be happy with it. I have a Classic 500 that I bought cheap second hand. The previous owner(s) did all sorts of dumb mods to it. Cafe racer style bars that hit the tank. Indicators that make it unroadworthy. Alloy bar end mirrors instead of heavy ones. A muffler that gave me a headache and offered less power than stock. Which is hilarious, because every HP counts when you have so little. Overfilled oil, which bled into the airbox, covering the the airfilter, and dropping all over the exhaust. Too low a heat range spark plug, poorly adjusted clutch, dry chain, poorly adjusted. I've nearly got the bike back to OEM standard. And it now gets up the big hill near me in top gear. The bars vibrate less with the OEM bars with the end weights. And with the OEM exhaust, it's nice and quiet and actually has grunt again. Everyone I know loved the bike as I bought it. And while it all looks and sounds cool, it under performed, was uncomfortable and handled poorly. With it all back to OEM, it runs better, sounds better and feels better to ride. In my opinion. And that's why my thoughts are, do whatever you want to the bike that makes you happy and makes you love it.
Thank you for the awesome video. I picked up my interceptor a few weeks ago and can't wait to start some upgrades. I like those bars a lot, can you tell me if you had to change any cables or brake hose? Or they fit just fine.

I'm really looking forward to seeing that RE drag bike. That way you don't stall it and the bike does all the work for you. But I love how yours strap on to the truck to keep the ramp from sliding. The ramp I use has none and the weight of the bike keeps it in place once you roll the front tire on. Bit nerve racking but so far so good.
