Very nice video. I'm riding a Continental GT 650 since september 2019. My dealer asked me after a couple of weeks after the purchase, if I'm still happy with my choice. I replied: "When I'm going to the parking lot, and can't hide my grin, then I've made the right decision." ;-) And this lasts till now. After 16000 kms.
I use my GT as my daily commuter bike. You just need to get used to it. And it hardly takes a week or so. You can do everything with this bike, tour, everyday things. And it will always bring you a smile whenever you'll start the engine. Its the best bike ever.
This is my first bike. Last summer I went to a triumph dealership because i love classic motorcycles and was looking for used Bonnevilles but in the small corner of that dealership was a small display of royal enfields. This caught my eye so I test rode it and fell in love with it(also the price was within budget brand new). This bike gets a lot of attention everywhere I go.

I acquired my GT 650 Rocker Red here in Brazil, and even going through a vehicle price crisis, RE managed to maintain itself with a very attractive price. I had a CB 450 that I customized with a café racer. And when I saw Continental always presented in a mall, my eyes lit up! It was a matter of 1 month to sell my Yamah Nmax and buy it.😁
Freddie, that was probably the best video you have ever done, I enjoyed every second and laughed out loud many times. The Continental, particularly in that paint scheme, is a work of art and I agree it could be the best looking bike ever made. Your enthusiasm is totally infectious and you make me want to get on a plane and fly to Tenerife just to replicate your day out on the bike. I was in Gran Canaria in February and went out motorcycling for a day and can confirm the roads and scenery are simply ‘as good as it gets.’ As an added bonus, you found a very rare example of the first car I ever owned at the age of 17, Fiat 600D, the nostalgia was overwhelming and I will have to watch the video again to see that beautiful little car again. What a video Freddie and what a start to my Sunday morning! Major thanks to Monica of course for all the hard work behind the scenes and thank you both for one of the best channels on UA-cam.

Wow, the best video ever and a great emotive description of the RE Continental GT650! I bought mine three years ago, and have done lots of mods. There are so many performance modifications and style changes available for this bike. And it retains its value so well. Each day when I take her out on my Idaho country roads to go to the grocery store for a sandwich I'm an Isle of Mann TT racer!
Hey so I’m really considering getting this bike cause I mean come on it’s just beautiful and I really love the cafe style, so what mods would you recommend?? Cause a couple of things I’ve heard that the bike should have is better suspension and brakes.
I loved your enthusiasm in this review. From all the videos I've seen reviewing this bike, I could say that yours is the absolute best. Glad that I came across it. Thanks Freddie, keep em coming!
I don’t think Royal Enfield themselves could have said it any better than this. This bike is beautiful in soo many ways. One can see how RE has preserved the true essence of a cafe racer. But I feel RE could have made the exhaust a bit better, not in terms of looks (they look gorgeous) but in terms of sound. This is a beast of a bike and the sound of these stock exhaust do not do justice to it’s presence on the road!
Nice one, Dude! I had my first Royal Rumble in a bar close to my place since 30 years just after picking up my GT and I don't regret a single punch. This bike gives you so much strength on and off-road, I fell like in my 20s again . Besides, the vauxhall ist an Opel Manta here in Germany & there's quite a good community for that car still.Enjoyed your video a lot. Stay safe and best regards from Bavaria ❣️
The style, the class, Monica's giggles, the cinematography and of course the love letter for cars and bikes(a well written script). Subscribed 🇵🇭🇸🇦 P.S. I'm 6'0"ft. 200lbs. Great reference for me.

Loved this video. Traded my 2021 Interceptor 650 for a 2022 Ducati Multistrada V2S in December. Already missing my Royal Enfield. You are right about the RE GT and the Interceptor. You can feel like you are racing at legal speeds and have a “Ton” of fun. I do love my Ducati but to get that same feeling I am definitely above the legal speed limits. Wish I could have both bikes.
I just started watching your videos Freddie, and gosh I’m hooked! The writing, the cinematography, your charisma makes your channel just unbeatable! I can’t wait for what you will create in the future! Brilliant!!
I started researching the GT650 a year ago and this was one of the 1st videos I saved on the subject. Pulled the trigger on 2024 GT650 Apex Grey last month. Couldn't be happier!
I just got a 2022 interceptor a month ago and I absolutely love it. Such a fun bike, the ride feels effortless. Would it be wrong to have an interceptor and a continental?
Awesome video Freddie, filled with laughs and love for the the RE Continental, best value for Money cafe racer out there and best looker 👀. When we met up for coffee we mentioned the IOM TT, I would highly recommend you go to the Classic TT 21st August 👌 don’t forget your comb 😂👍
I was thinking of getting myself a Svartpilen 401 as my first bike next year. This video just turned me on into getting a Continental GT. Awesome job! Enjoyed every minute of it!
Such a well presented video, well done to you both.. You've said what I've also been saying about these modern retros, you can use more of the power more of the time rather than these super sport /naked's where you can soon get into trouble very quickly. Much more satisfying at the end of your ride.
Great video again. I had a white Opel Manta GTE IN THE 80’s a white one with white alloy wheels! 2.0 injection and couldn’t out drag the Corsa GTE at the time 😂😂. Looked the part though . Followed up by a Renault 5 GT turbo, now that was a car 👍🏻
What I absolutely love about Freddie's (and Monica's) channel is that he "gets" motorcycling. Not just motorcycles. There's a difference. The former incorporates the soul, feel and lifestyle outlook that all mix in together, and impart their input on our buying choices. And then I just spied the Fujifilm Xpro2 on the cafe table. Suspicions confirmed - here is a man of classy tastes and a preference for tactility and the manner of doing something. My Xpro2 is in front of on the bookshelf as I type this. This is all very useful to know, because it means that when he raves about the class and capabilities of the Guzzi V85tt, for instance , there's an excellent chance that I too will love it.
Thank you for this. Nice video. You've just cemented my decision of getting one. Planning to get for my birthday this May. Thanks again and I love your channel. Cheers to you & Monica! 🥂
Wrong decision it lacks power and it is not super reliable get a homda cb1100 looks almost the same but even better, is faster, amazing reliability, bigger fuel tank for tours, beautiful sound, much better suspension and brakes. The Honda smashes it in every imaginable way
Thanks for the comment guys. I know what you meant. But looking for that old British motorcycle vibe and that price point. I love it. My friend got the CB1000R and for the H2, oh man.....in time. 😊✌️

New Sub from across the pond mate, love the content! I love the history of this motorcycle and you're doing an awesome bang up job with the story of the motorcycle. You definitely have something going here but If I would suggest something with no disrespect at all, I don't really enjoy the laughing when you're taking me back in time. You Sir have a gift to take a person back in time and you should definitely take advantage of that with no comedy or laughter added, you definitely hit the nail right on the head. No disrespect intended for monica or anyone else laughing while you're acting for us, I just find the act to be so much fun to watch. When I hear the laughs I know it's not real. Hope I don't get a Ton of hate for my two cents. Love that comb btw!
I've test ridden this bike back in summer last year and since then I can't stop myself to look videos and pictures about it. I own an R6 and a Cb650r and this continental GT felt very fun regardless it's power. It's not too much, but it's the good amount to make you smile while riding it. Man if had the money to buy another bike...one day I will own this bike
I definitely do not understand your culture or the past nostalgia you were describing but I definitely did enjoy watching this review and you definitely did took my imagination back to those black and white videos I've seen about street raceing. Lots of Love from India🥰
@Roark Bjorn How about you explain first I am sure it's would be over by the time I take leak. Indian culture can't be described to one maggot, need a whole group to explain culture as it is that vast, won't be spending energy on one dweeb
Love your enthusiasm Freddie, I honestly believe you will eventually be offered a TV slot. You can tell just how much you love motorcycles, and you do it in real style. I really love the continental gt, but I bought a Kawasaki w800 cafe for a couple of hunded pounds more than the RE. In my opinion ( and is just my opinion) the build quality is superior on the w800, and also being a air cooled, it feels more authentic to the old British bikes. Both 47bhp but kawasaki has a bit more torque.
Damn, that intro is worth dying for. What a brilliant presentation and review. Gets even better as I've booked the Inty 650 and eagerly waiting for it to ride home.
Nice job Fred. For me the GT is more comfortable and def more engaging than the Int. At open road speed; wind blast takes all the weight off, and you don’t need to hang onto to the bars like you do with a sit up and beg position. Int owners are always putting windshields on for that reason, but the GT doesn’t need one.
Steve McQueen is alive and living on Tenerife! Freddie, you absolutely get why Royal Enfield are such fun but when are you going to get one and which one will it be?
Oooooooh genuinely (and I really mean this)- every single bike in Enfield’s range I love and want to own. If I can pick two; Interceptor and Classic 350! But as the Interceptor’s so similar to my Bonneville, I’ll take the Classic! But… the Super Meteor’s out in a few months and I’d consider buying one of those too!🤩🏍👌🏻👌🏻
Would welcome a look at the new Royal Enfield SRAM 411 based on the Himalayan if you can get hold of one, sort of a poor man’s urban GS. Royal Enfield are knocking it out of the park at the moment, every day bikes for every day people!
The best scenery of any test video I've seen, and you've got class, mate. (Actually I'm American). I would've watched the whole thing anyway, but I hoped to get a glimpse of Monica. She has a nice laugh.
Thanks for the vid, very scenic. I agree the bike looks great as it is. I dropped the clip ons an inch on mine, and turned them inwards a few degrees. It's actually more comfortable although you lose a bit of turning circle. 👍🇦🇺
Freddie and Monica you 2 guys are the best. I started following you this year when I seen the Morocco trip . I was fascinated by the trip , unlike other you tubers your videos are packed with information about the places you go to the food and the places you stay at . This video was so funny I loved it . I was at NEC today for motorcycle live 2023 and I was chatting to the sales people about the history of the royal Enfield and to be honest they hadn’t got a clue , then on the BSA stand the same thing . I told them to watch your channel and they would learn about the once great British bikes . I run a Honda NT1100 DCT which I have toured Spain and Portugal and later I done a mini tour of France. I’m looking at buying 2nd bike and would love a classic and the 3 bikes I’m considering are a boneville like yours or the BSA or the Enfield. I will probably go for a BSA as both my mom and dad worked at the BSA in small Heath and it is the place where I was born and I went to a school beside it back in the 60,s so it holds a special place in my heart. PS the lads at Triumph Blade in Stratford do know about you . Keep up the great work guys .
My favourite car when I was growing up, the open Manta. I knew I would never own a Mustang, as it happened I couldn't afford one of those either. Brilliant video as always, love your enthusiasm for bikes and cars, wish there were more people out there keeping the motor alive, they will miss it when it's gone.
Freddie, I totally agree. Even if you never rode it, you could buy the GT just to look at and be happy. The fact that you can ride it, and totally immerse yourself to your and the bike’s limit, every single day makes it a sacrament. I ride a Classic 500 that achieves that status too, just in a slightly different way. You are a great advertisement for Tenerife too, it looks beautiful in your videos.
My grandmother died on Saturday and on the Sunday I was looking through some of her old photos. There were some of her and grandad on a BSA in the 1950s, his slick back hair, leather jacket, her on the back. She was a fun lady.
I am from India and this costs Rs 3.5 lakh(million) (around 3510 pound) here, I'm surprised to see it costs nearly double outside, I'm 16 and this is my dream bike, being from an middle class family, 3 lakhs is a lot in Indian standards for most motorcyclists (Most motorcyclists ride 125-250 cc bikes which cost usually 70 thousand to 1 lakh in general, anything over 1.5lakh is considered premium), let alone for a student like me, but i guess if I work hard enough in life I'll make it one day
You are the King of the Classics….keep it going….oh yeah - put the helmet on…Monica knows better…hahahah - nice job!!!….You are right…I have a new RnineT Scrambler…and so odd no fuel gauge…especially for the price….
Great video and I think you hit the nail squarely on the head with the point about the high powered fast bikes. Always more fun to ride slower bikes fast. Excellent, well done.
It was absolutely fun watching you narrate the entire video, i completely agree with you on the feeling part, both these bikes are amazing.. loved you work.. subscribed.
Whilst I do really like the style of this bike the Interceptor with the chromed tank just shades it for me. A second hand W800 is a very competitive alternative and although you mentioned the horse power the W800 has @ 15 % more torque which is available right from the get go.
The Interceptor with a chrome tank would probably be my pick (just!), too❤️👌🏻🏍 Really appreciate the Kawasaki input- it’s a bike I’ve never ridden so that’s very interesting re the torque
@Stewy62 The W650 and W800 are great bikes, extremely high quality, but they just aren't as fun. They don't handle as nice and they have the 360 degree crank, which sounds rather like a boxer engine. Not a bad thing, as it's unique, but it doesn't really compare to the cleverness put into the Enfield 650. It's as if Enfield took the best ideas from several different engines to come up with something almost perfect. Air cooled, EFI, 4 valves per cylinder, 270 degree crank, over square bore to stroke ratio, strong oil cooling. It's almost perfect for a motorcycle.
I have just completed a really crappy 24 hour shift in hospital, this video was so good and funny that I had to watch and comment it, even though all I want to do is sleep. Just brilliant. Monicas' laughter was the icing on the cake. Have fun and ride safe.

Waking up with a hangover and seeing you have uploaded almost cured it!
I bought one after watching your video and I don’t have any regrets. Loving the bike. Thank you
A great, enthusiastic review. The R.E. twins make perfect sense on modern roads. I love my Interceptor!
Just brilliant mate. Looking forward to seeing your next video 👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧.
The style, the class, Monica's giggles, the cinematography and of course the love letter for cars and bikes(a well written script). Subscribed 🇵🇭🇸🇦
P.S. I'm 6'0"ft. 200lbs. Great reference for me.
My favorite review of the GT 650 on UA-cam. I've watched this so many times. Always puts a smile on my face! :) Thanks Freddie! I have the same exact bike, in the same color. I come-back every-now-and-then just to watch and smile like an idiot. Ha! Keep-up the good work Freddie. ps I'm a Californian living on a Greek island. Come down here for some amazing riding and scenery. I think your viewers would love a road bike video by you done in Greece. Cheers!
Thank you UA-cam algorithm.. I am here.. loved your channel... you should be brand ambassador for RE.. keep good work buddy
I have the mk2 chrome version and want conti as well
Gloriously bonkers Freddie. Your enthusiasm has virtually got me heading to the dealers!
Thanks Nick and great shout- I’ve never considered the Classic TT before!
At 7:45, Freddie entering the scene to the sound of a rooster 🐓 crowing is cinematic gold👏. Monica 🙏.
A glorious stroke of lucky timing- thank you for noticing!🙂🐔🏍
Great video again. I had a white Opel Manta GTE IN THE 80’s a white one with white alloy wheels! 2.0 injection and couldn’t out drag the Corsa GTE at the time 😂😂. Looked the part though . Followed up by a Renault 5 GT turbo, now that was a car 👍🏻
Fantastic insight and you have shattered the illusion for me a bit, Lee!😆
Renault 5… YES YES YES
The Honda smashes it in every imaginable way
@@everythinggaming7938 get a ninja H2 then
@@arthurherman1046 working on it with the dealership man. Wish me luck. ✌️
@@alexanderbryanchoa good luck, bro
I hope you will enjoy it ❤️
Thanks for the comment guys. I know what you meant. But looking for that old British motorcycle vibe and that price point. I love it. My friend got the CB1000R and for the H2, oh man.....in time. 😊✌️
Best Review of the continental I've seen till date Freddie! Great job! Also the car at 12:20 is an Opel Manta 400. Brilliant Car.
Been looking forward to this video. There is a Root Beer colour Royal Enfield just up the Crescent from my best friend’s home. Not sure what Model but when it’s in the sun it’s gorgeous. I love Monika’s laugh. Made my day.
They’re beautiful machines aren’t they! They really are as good looking as anything on the market in my eyes😍🏍👌🏻👌🏻
@@FreddieDobbs Agreed 💯% I really like the “Old School” Royal Enfield you had on the Channel last week. I’m definitely watching for when those hit the Canadian Market
I have just stumbled across this review. As a new rider I'm soaking in as many bike reviews and videos and can safely say no one does a review like you Freddie! Hooked on the channel now!! Keep up the great work 👍
New Sub from across the pond mate, love the content!
I bought this bike back in January and I still watch the videos for it lol
It's about time Royal Enfield signed Freddie up as a brand ambassador.
Freddie deine Leidenschaft für Motorrad ist unbeschreiblich . hab mir RE Mr Clean gekauft , bin mega glücklich 👍
The lady's laugh is so countagious! It makes the review a lot cooler xD
I agree 100% with what you say. Freddie is the guvnor, the king of cool. Also agree with your comment re the w800
This is one of the better you tube channels, and I like your style young Freddie.
The coolest motoblogger
That’s very kind of you!🙂
This is the fourth time I am watching this video, I think this is best motorcycle review I have ever seen. Nice work.
I can see you having your own TV slot. Great presentation with such enthusiasm. Really look forward to your content. Great work both of you. 👍
I've watched this video many times and it gets better every time. 👍👍
But… the Super Meteor’s out in a few months and I’d consider buying one of those too!🤩🏍👌🏻👌🏻
As a Fujifilm big fanboy and an X-Pro1 and 3 owner, I realy appreciate your camera choice :-)
Would welcome a look at the new Royal Enfield SRAM 411 based on the Himalayan if you can get hold of one, sort of a poor man’s urban GS. Royal Enfield are knocking it out of the park at the moment, every day bikes for every day people!
I must try this asap! Bang on Stuart; attainable bikes that the masses can aspire to🙂👌🏻
The best scenery of any test video I've seen, and you've got class, mate.
Good one Freddy, always loved that bike even though the Intercepter would be better for daily use. You make it 500% cooler of course😵💫
Nice one, good old Opel manta GT, I think this is my favourite colour of Royal Enfield, gorgeous bike...
You are absolutely hilarious and your excitement is contagious. Essentially I want to buy every bike you review. :) Keep rocking with style.
Awesome video. I did take the Continental for a test ride and I thought it was great 😁 Didn't hit any barmen though 😂
Timeless classic GT Royal Enfield 650cc. Another English gorgeous motorbike ❤!
Nice vlog!
I am from India and this costs Rs 3.5 lakh(million) (around 3510 pound) here, I'm surprised to see it costs nearly double outside, I'm 16 and this is my dream bike, being from an middle class family, 3 lakhs is a lot in Indian standards for most motorcyclists (Most motorcyclists ride 125-250 cc bikes which cost usually 70 thousand to 1 lakh in general, anything over 1.5lakh is considered premium), let alone for a student like me, but i guess if I work hard enough in life I'll make it one day
A million is not a lakh, 10 lakhs is a million.
Bhai padh le maths acche se phele ...
10 lakhs = 1 million, dude.
Import taxes dude which increases price
Because it is manufactured in Chennai - India, its cheap here.
Your passion for bike review is infectious! Thks.
You are the King of the Classics….keep it going….oh yeah - put the helmet on…Monica knows better…hahahah - nice job!!!….You are right…I have a new RnineT Scrambler…and so odd no fuel gauge…especially for the price….
Freddie you're very charismatic! And Monika's editing skills are just on point! This is a winning duo!
Great video and I think you hit the nail squarely on the head with the point about the high powered fast bikes. Always more fun to ride slower bikes fast. Excellent, well done.
What a gorgeous place to ride a bike around, that is a seriously pretty place, the scenery, the painted houses, just spectacular.
Monica’s giggles made this video. You lunatics made my day. You almost sold the bike to me.
Ride safe
It was absolutely fun watching you narrate the entire video, i completely agree with you on the feeling part, both these bikes are amazing.. loved you work.. subscribed.
Whilst I do really like the style of this bike the Interceptor with the chromed tank just shades it for me. A second hand W800 is a very competitive alternative and although you mentioned the horse power the W800 has @ 15 % more torque which is available right from the get go.
They are both good bikes, But the W800 is quite a lot more expensive.
The Interceptor with a chrome tank would probably be my pick (just!), too❤️👌🏻🏍
Really appreciate the Kawasaki input- it’s a bike I’ve never ridden so that’s very interesting re the torque
