@@MJT-DA thanks dude but I've moved on from this. I can go FOR a GM, A Nissan, or a Jaguar since Mercedes is boring to me and the 3series is boring to me and so is Audi. Idk why so many people buy the cheaper vehicles of these brands and then a t like they own the road, in a c class - _- I love Jaguars because of the rich history, and even with all their ups and downs, they still handle better than a BMW Audi and Mercedes. I love the Jaguar Xe. Beautiful vehicle. Blends in, but certainly isn't like the others.

the 1st generation Gen Coupe turbo and the 3.8 v6 is under powered and has known tranny issues and other low quality issues of final offerings .2nd generation Gen Coupe has slave cylinder leak problems which cause the tranny needing to be removed to change the part($600.00 plus labor). If you beat on the car the OEM clutch or dual mass flywheel will fail on either the BK1 or BK2 , to replace both items is $3,500 to $4,500.If you get a 2nd generation turbo and plan on tuning and raising the boost be aware that the BK2's intake manifold is plastic and can blow apart under raised boost levels outside of OEM spec ,you would be wise to go to a salvage yard or ebay and buy a used 1st generation aluminum intake manifold if planning on modding for higher boost. This car had a lot of potential but Hyundai in an attempt to gain market profits for a new rear wheel drive entry model screwed themselves and the American buyers out of a better deal .I have a BK2 that I modded and I am to believe I have 1 of 2 in America a 3.8 v6 R-spec that runs in the high 11's in the 1/4 on nitrous and a host of supporting mods. The KTM support is small and very expensive for such a slow platform .There is a Gen coupe BK2 turbo 4 cyl in PR running 10.50's in the 1/4 .I've done a lot to my Gen Coupe but if I had to do it all over again,I would have chosen another brand. It is hit and miss with the STEALERSHIP support in respect to warranty work.Either your problem will get fixed or they "the stealership" will deny claims for what ever reason and if you complain to Hyundai ,good luck with that .

Maybe you should lose the short form txt for a more understandable comment. BK1/2?;PR running 10.50's ( is that seconds )?; Slave cylinder leak?; high 11's?; KTM?; But thanks for the comment anyway

    • @dinomaxi4951

The BK 2 - 2.0 liter turbo Alphaspeed tuned Gen Coupe from PR is a High dollar build that runs 10.50's @ 133 mph .My Gen Coupe has run the best time of 11.57 and 118.7 mph on nitrous and supporting mods ( MANY MODS ) .I work on my own Gen Coupe and found many poor designs of the platform and corrected them .I don't think most would embark on the path I did because of the lack of tuning options out there . My motor itself is still OEM spec . I modded everything else on my Gen to produce a decent running car , not the fastest but can surprise any brand out there today on the streets .

I have a 2015 GC that my wife (71 years old) drives. I call it the Korean Korvette. It's got 39k and is all original, even the Toyo tires. Second owner since 9000 miles. Rare automatic trans, Brembos, sunroof, and spoiler. NO mods or upgrades, strictly factory. Tsukuba red. Now she wants a Lexus RC before she dies. Go figure, but I pamper my wife. She's a really good cook. I'm in Myrtle Beach....any offers over 22K? BTW, I'm happy with my black Impala SS....it's the SUV of sedans and gets compliments everywhere I go.

Hi Justin, I went to test drive a 100,000km 2013 2.0T today and everything seemed in order. The only aftermarket mod was a blow-off valve. Do you know if 2013 2.0T's are reliable if they are driven 'conservatively' ? I dont' plan on modding or beating it, I just love the look and the available passing power. Thanks !

That sounds about like what I get with my 2010 3.8 - about 23-24 commuting to work (30 miles one way) and from 26-18 on the highway if I don't push it. Its been a fairly reliable car with only a couple mechanical items - both covered under warranty. I did have to replace the AC compressor (Expensive!) shortly out of warranty. Since then no other serious issues now with 162K. The build quality is fair to good w/ some minor plastic pieces a bit on the cheap side.

Hey there, it's been a while since I've dug into these-- the owners community likely has a much better grip on that now than they did when I wrote this video. Suggest checking Facebook Reddit and popular forums.
Make some friends and network if you haven't already, most owners are happy to share their insights and experiences. Lists of year specific problems shouldn't be difficult to find.
Hope that sends you in the right direction, happy shopping!

I just bought a 2010 2.0t and when I’m driving around town and put it into 3rd I feel like something is in the way like the gear bitting back, it only does it sometimes but when it does you can feel it. It’s only 3rd gear that does that but I want to know is this a major problem? Should I be worried? If it’s big problem I might just get something done now before any more damage is occurred.
