@@anya5635 The first boy just wanted some friends. After a couple millenia he's basically met and "befriended" every boy that has lived or ever will live. He commands his legion of Boys to continue hunting, hoping they'll find a new member that won't bore him in a month or two.
my perception of this song has changed since his new release of "kiss me (kill me)" since we have more lore, it's safe to assume that the world is breaking out into an apocalypse and its genuinely terrifying
this HAS to be all centered with gourdchat (the application in general) because both "the boys are back" and "kiss me (kill me)" have some sort of reference to it, this song is litteraly centered around it and "kiss me (kill me)" has the main character serching up the incident, trying to download the files, it failing, and using the "gourd cop" to help, but in the end leading them to a trap
Okay I know everyone is talking about how this is fear inducing and stuff but no one talks about how this song is a absolute addictive blast in this version
I love the implication that “The Boys” aren’t a group of boys independent of one another, but likely one entity with multiple consecutive bodies. (Because that girl who is “living happily in a mid range apartment” apparently slapped the boys’ face, meaning she slapped the boys as a collective despite slapping one.)
Somehow you've turned the signature phrase of the song against itself. "The boys are back in town" went from being celebratory to fear-inducing. Great stuff
the fact the boys might not even be human is just the final nail in the coffin. they could have just been some dudes that got locked up and want revenge. but no they are demons.
*Living happily in a mid-range apartment building with her 2 children (who are not orphans and/or grieving for their mother, who is still very much alive)
It just hit me how connected this and 'kiss me (kill me)' really is. They mention the 'woman that kissed the boy's face', which is the whole premise of 'kiss me (kill me)'. It makes me realize that the boys may indeed be parasitic hosts as well. They try so hard to convince the people behind the computers that they're normal, and that nothing horrible has happened, and even to go as far as to say that the parasite is a good thing, that it seems likely to me that they're either under the control of the same parasite, or one faction lords over the other. The boys could be demons, they could be simple monsters, or fellow parasitic hosts, but they appear to act differently and on their own, comparatively to the poor woman being overtaken in kiss me (kill me). This could just be a crackpot theory, but in some way other than gourdchat and gourdcop, they are intertwined.
P.S. If you pause your video and use < and > to move the video at the very end, you find an image (albeit I'm pretty sure from friends) of one of the 'boys' with a large parasite placed upon his head. This appears to further the idea that they are of the same kind, or one type of parasite is subservient to the other.
I once beleaved that gourdchat (much like Halloween 3 in some way) had some sort of infused technology that signals the other infected creatures to the user or infects them into becoming one themselves. Also, I think the parasite itself is a different entity intirely, infecting hosts into becoming mutated monsters, while they are able to spread the mutation to other people. The boys coudl've been a collective entity of other humans that were victims of the parasite, fused together to form an amalgamation. They later on infected the lady in kiss me (kill me), turning her into a deformed corpse.
@@Plasstyre The Boys probably ARE the parasites, my dude. (And also, I heard from somewhere that they are also called "Mindflayers" so be aware of that.)
In both this and Kiss Me (Kill Me), the same dark text with red and blue highlights is used. I believe that it’s in some way connected to the parasite, since in Kiss Me (Kill Me) it seems to be used only when the girl isn’t speaking of her own will, as there’s a section after it appears where her speech returns to the regular blue text used to signify her words and she’s pleading for whoever she’s speaking to kill her while she’s down. It would make sense to assume the parasite is also affecting some of what’s said here following that same logic, seeing as the darkened text is solely to make the arrival of “The Boys” seem like a good thing.
i had to supress the urge to SCREAM this version of the song when it came on the radio i was in the car with my dad and i heard the iconic lil guitar riff melody and my mind SHOT to this i was very confused when The Boys didnt come back in town to kill me

The most unnerving part of this video is the way that we can see around the side of the computer screen. It makes it feel like the person whose perspective we're seeing is potentially at risk at all times. The first time I watch this, I expected it to end with the camera turning, and there being a jumpscare at the very end.
god this is so good, and actually decently effective horror. there's so much vagueness going on here. are the boys a group of boys, a singular entity, or a hive mind? are they typical murderers or supernatural? why are they trying to kill you? why did they come back to town for the sole purpose of killing you? are they manipulating the computer? there's so much going on here, and all over a really funky remix. i love this video very much

I actually don't think the song said dead. I think it said "now she's *them.* " It fits with the idea of assimilation / the spread of some sort of parasite or assimilator.
GourdChat has a really weird autocorrect. Whenever I try to type "Lmao I'm dead" it corrects to "Lmao I'm Living happily in a mid-range apartment building with her 2 children (who are not orphans and/or grieving for their mother, who is still very much alive.)" It's really weird.

I'd like to draw attention to the symbolism of gourds/carved pumpkins. Pumpkins and gourds were originally carved and set out to ward off spirits, right? But in this little series, they're the one attracting them, or are used as the thing that spreads them. Somebody in the newest song, Kiss me (Kill me) pointed out that the virus could be spread via air. The best way to spread it from an infected person would be to, yknow, blow their brains out. The impact would shatter the skull and release blood everywhere. Smashing pumpkins could also do this. Or carving them.
I've only seen this done in one other place and that was The Candy Mare where the pumpkins scattered everywhere became vectors for her to infect and be everywhere at once, and when someone smashed them, she got on everyone around her. It's a very lesser seen detail in that massive novella story, but it always struck me as neat. It's so utterly forgotten what they were and could be or do.

Judging by, what we can assume to be a picture from the correspondent's webcam moments after his demise, that "the boys" seem to be some kind of insectoid-like beings that attach themselves to the heads of humans, presumably some kind of feeding behaviour. And the way they're talked about implies that they're a threat that some common folk are aware of, but were not anticipating their return for some time. Addendum: Either the photo is how "the boys" feed or is possibly, judging by Kiss Me, how "the eggs" are transmitted.

This song gets even creepier if you listen to the other one in this series, as at around 1:34, as the singer is telling you to "get away" you can hear what can be interpreted as buzzing and egg hatching, as well as a slight heartbeat, just like the one used in Kiss Me (Kill Me)
Unfortunately impossible, as 'The Boys' is a singular entity rather than a group of boys as the name suggests (am grammar nerd) due to how the SPaG is used when describing how The Boys had their face (singular) slapped, it suggests there is one being, which is called 'The Boys' The Boy's - The boy (singular) owns this The Boys' - The boys (plural) own this. At first it could be multiple faces of multiple boys, but the word 'face' is singular, and therefore means 'The Boys' (singular) has one face (singular). (And yes it should be 'has' not 'have', it's one being.) Also, normally you wouldn't capitalize 'The' or 'Boys' so that suggests it's the name of something. 'The boys' isn't a proper noun.

I absolutely adore the attention to detail which went to craft not only the song, but this whole video around. The clock's time going from 23:59 to 00:00, the revert, the distorted lyrics not showing their original meaning but something completely opposite (especially the 'Living with...' part), the handle of your friend (ThinLiz_76, rather clever), the icons and chat application changing as well ([Embrace] [Them] in GoredChat, for instance), and the blue screen in the end. Perfection.
During the corruptions, the contact changes from "ThinLiz_76" to "Joey's Head" later once the desktop corrupts there is "Joey's Head" and then there is "Nothing" above it because there is "nothing on Joey's Head" also it's only then that the time changes from 23:59 to 00:00 I love the attention to detail

Somehow you've turned the signature phrase of the song against itself. "The boys are back in town" went from being celebratory to fear-inducing. Great stuff

Smooge Shiroganeechan I think it’s “now she stabbed”
*BAM BAM BAM BAM* "oh shit. Remember the time i told them 'no?' Now my blood will spill."

Or carving them.
smh why did The Smashing Pumpkins do this 😔
I've only seen this done in one other place and that was The Candy Mare where the pumpkins scattered everywhere became vectors for her to infect and be everywhere at once, and when someone smashed them, she got on everyone around her. It's a very lesser seen detail in that massive novella story, but it always struck me as neat.
It's so utterly forgotten what they were and could be or do.
The last thing we hear in Kiss Me (Kill Me) is a gunshot, presumably directed at the infected singer.

That's a very interesting take. Honestly makes the song a bit less unnerving. Only by a bit.
Unfortunately impossible, as 'The Boys' is a singular entity rather than a group of boys as the name suggests (am grammar nerd) due to how the SPaG is used when describing how The Boys had their face (singular) slapped, it suggests there is one being, which is called 'The Boys'
The Boy's - The boy (singular) owns this
The Boys' - The boys (plural) own this.
At first it could be multiple faces of multiple boys, but the word 'face' is singular, and therefore means 'The Boys' (singular) has one face (singular). (And yes it should be 'has' not 'have', it's one being.)
Also, normally you wouldn't capitalize 'The' or 'Boys' so that suggests it's the name of something. 'The boys' isn't a proper noun.

Dead Not Dying ohhhhhhhhhhh I get it now, I kinda thought it was like a call or something since you hear his voice and it shows the pumpkin holding a phone.
Vash Milam So did I until I thought about it a little more
Considering the test goes all HEY THIS IS AN OBVIOUS LIE I think the receiver still got the general message.
EDIT: text not test
4 years later and i finally noticed Joey with [nothing on his head] appears in the static just before the computer shuts down

Whoa this is some high quality content!
Video Game Remixes Don't see that a lot on UA-cam don't yea.
I love the whole aesthetic of this video. The Windows 95 computer and the program acting very much like a virus from back in the day.
The chiptune remix fits very well with the whole 90s theme to the video.
I love the change at the end of the program name from GourdChat to GoredChat.
I also agree with a higher comment they it feels like they act as some kind of group that makes each other aware.
I also love "ThinLiz_76 is typing..."
Totally agree, without the presentation I would've gotten a quick chuckle but only watched this once, instead I've watched this daily since I found it. The Windows layout and slight creepiness really elevate it above most other 'soundclown' remixes like this.
Same thing with the my computer becoming "Our computer" Your friend's head on the desktop, and *nothing*
1:17 thats a great foreshadowing for his next song. im surprised he was able to call back to that.
Also the text that shows up on this screen to lie about stuff is the exact same style of text that shows up after the woman transforms in "Kiss Me."
2:43... I think we know where those eggs came from too.
@@vla1ne its just a in-channel joke jerryterry has, joey from friends with something on his head
They were askin' if a better remix could be found.
I told them "NO."

Yo wazzap
I absolutely adore the attention to detail which went to craft not only the song, but this whole video around. The clock's time going from 23:59 to 00:00, the revert, the distorted lyrics not showing their original meaning but something completely opposite (especially the 'Living with...' part), the handle of your friend (ThinLiz_76, rather clever), the icons and chat application changing as well ([Embrace] [Them] in GoredChat, for instance), and the blue screen in the end. Perfection.

During the corruptions, the contact changes from "ThinLiz_76" to "Joey's Head"
later once the desktop corrupts there is "Joey's Head" and then there is "Nothing" above it because there is "nothing on Joey's Head"
also it's only then that the time changes from 23:59 to 00:00
I love the attention to detail

Nice catch
Makes sense since it seemed as though our friend's neck was snapped
I think this might be the funniest and creepiest post I've seen today. Amazing work!
The Kraken Experiment wait how is it funny?
How is it creepy
I don’t want to like because you have 420 likes and if I did I’d ruin it
how many funny / creepy posts do you see daily for this to only be the best thing you'd seen on that day
Watch out guys, it's the fun police. Can't call this funny even though it's meant to be humorous.
A group of human beings, most likely of the male gender, have gone back to a collection of buildings holding a small population of people, though it is not stated when they had last occupied the small city.
They only wish to -commit murder- assist you in your daily life and wellbeing.
I'm getting mixed signals.
Lmao
They want you to think they aren't hostile
They're just -a threat- good young men!
I dunno, just sounds like the boys are back in town to me.
hello getting mixed signals.
This is one of my favorite UA-cam videos.

You know, we’re actually shown what The Boys are. Right between the blue screen and the shutdown, we’re shown an image. It distorts quickly, but if you pause at just the right moment, you can see the image (and The Boys [er, *A* Boy at least]) in perfect clarity.
(The two *new* icons on the “Connection Lost” screen hold some clues as well)
its joey from the friends lol
So the boys are people being controlled by alien parasites?
Oh wow they look alot less horrifying than I thought they were... the lyrics in kiss me (kill me) make it seem ALOT more horrifying.

It also sounds like “The government”
I hear "you brought them back".
My friend just sent me this a couple of years after I told him of my idea to make a fake trailer for a horror movie where every line is the lyrics to The Boys Are Back In Town and now I'm upset that someone not only beat me to the idea, but did it in a way more entertaining way.

I want it as a ringtone

0:00 - 0:15 that sounds like floppy drive stepper motor sounds and pc speaker chirp, while the beat is pretty much normal
If you have basic editing software you could make it yourself, the BPM is 162 (I think? 160 and 165 seemed to make it out of beat with the metronome after a while but 162 is a strange choice), then edit whichever parts you want and export

BROOOO PROPS TO YOU FOR BEING SMART
The inversion of the screen interface makes it obvious.
I thought the screen inversion was supposed to be me realizing what's a lie on the text, the dude on the other part of the screen says "the boys are back" meaning I've already met with them before
fun fact : at 1:46 the internet explorer icon looses the internet explorer icon and the text is replaced to "nothing" and the "my briefcase" file becomes a picture of joey tribianni's head with the new text "joey's head"

Guess who just got back today?
Those wild eyed boys that'd been away.
They were asking if you were around...
I told them you were livin'.
They were asking if you could be found...
I told them *YES* .
The boys are back in town!
The boys are back in town!
To *HELP* you!
Every night them boys say;
Won't be long until you're on the floor *LAUGHING* !
Them boys, they're *ANGELS* .
Don't forget;
The boys are back in town!
To *HELP* you!
Won't be long 'till the boys find you..
They're getting warmer, it won't be long.
You better *LET THEM IN* .
The boys are back in town!
To *HELP* you!
You know that chick that got up and *KISSED* the boys' face?
Now she's *LIVING HAPPILY IN A MID-RANGE APARTMENT BUILDING WITH HER TWO CHILDREN (WHO ARE NOT ORPHANS AND/OR GRIEVING FOR THEIR MOTHER, WHO IS STILL VERY MUCH ALIVE)*
Oh shit!
You know that time I told them no?
Now my blood will spill...
Here it comes...
*LET THEM IN*
*LET THEM IN*
Spread the word around...
The boys are back in town again!

The boys weren't the same since... well, you remember, don't you? That night, down at the warehouse? I don't remember much after it got them, I just remember you and I running for what felt like hours back to your place.
