The song mentions blowflys, which can cause Myiasis, defined by the cdc as "the infection of a fly larva (maggot) in human tissue." She then goes on to talk about eggs inside her.
Yooo this is such a cool detail!
After I went back to the original song and noticed it was "fireflies" and not blowflies, I knew something was up with that line! Good catch!
You are a fucking genius. the eggs may be psychoactive
Maggots also move the corpse they're consuming over time, making it seem like it's shifting or moving. Flies also are known to lay their eggs in open wounds or orifices in a corpse (such as the mouth; "kiss me")

This feels like two people accidentally invoking the wrath of an eldritch deity. From "the bubbling crow skulls" to "the melting tree stumps" and even the "black, wet chains", everything seems like it's decaying on a molecular level, which when you put into perspective, makes the sounds the singer makes when they get infected all the more horrific, assuming that they're decaying in a completely unnatural way while they're still completely alive and conscious. This is the kind of horror that chills me.
I figured one of them got infected with something and started to hallucinate but always wondered how the other person didn’t get whatever it was if that’s the case
This makes slot of sense too!
She's a trapped soul in a digested body. It's truly horrifying as it's a way to see it as a way that the second person couldn't let go of her and dragged her through this hellish land.
I feel like one person brought the other(the singer) there to be killed and transformed into some kind of creature.
The trees being demolished was probably her after she got changed by whatever it was into an extremely strong thing. And the "kiss me to become stronger" is probably her trying to spread it.
I don't know why the other person would have a map made of human skin that leads to some kind of meat hive if they weren't a little devious although who knows because it seems as if she was chasing them (also the black slime by the other persons hat).
I also think they weren't dying as they suggest kissing them will transform whoever kisses them into some kind of powerful thing and she also gets put down by someone(most likely) in a hazmat suit after saying if she wakes up she'll become stronger.

@@MilltickerI once heard a theory that stated that whatever the infection was, it was plant-based, hence the trees with weins and other plant imagery. According to this theory, the rotting meat, eggs and map made of human skin is just dead trees, seeds and a regular map made of celulose, but the singer that is now part-tree sees these as the same as her.

The independent analyst's orange text makes them a little suspicious, but they end up being the most rational and relatable character in the video by far. The "...or something else?" comment in response to the police analyst suggesting psychotropic drug use implies that they're at least _considering_ the idea that something supernatural is happening, but at the same time, they end up as inconclusive as the police. We, as out-of-story viewers, are really only a couple steps ahead of the orange analyst; we _know_ that this is supernatural, we know about The Boys and the fact that they Are Back In Town, and we know that these Gourd programs somehow connect everything, but that's about it.
Also, unrelated, but most land plants do have vascular systems. Two, in fact. According to the internet, Blow flies can implant eggs/maggots into living things causing a parasitic condition known as myiasis. Earlier she mentions blowflies

Just wanted to point out, the computer has veins like the trees she saw did, and also appears to be melting like the stumps. We hear a dead loved one call out to us (thinlizzy) just like she did.
The POV character is 1000% going through the stages of infection. The "kiss me" and "hide hide" we hear at the end after the pov char walks away from the computer...may simply just be coming from us.
either that or these are just immediate signs of their presence.
you can see the red light getting bigger with "kiss me" and "hide hide", as if its approaching. so i doubt its coming from pov
@@viberry_ I would assume that it’s something approaching because of the light yeah.
(not so short) explanation/theory of "kiss me (kill me)" :
It's linked with the videos "photograph" and "and the boys are back (to kill you)"
Explanation :
In the end of photograph theres the weird thing on joey's head kinda melting it (just go watch it) and it seems to be able to "corrupt" the computer it was on with also any records of it, photos, videos (Writing sentences in big blue letters, maybe only seen on the records)
List of text seen in photograph :
-Nothing is on joey's head
-Embrace the mindflayer
In the boys are back (to kill you) you can see on the computer after the end of the transmission there is two icons "Nothing" and "Joey's Head", "Nothing" is on top of "joey's head" (on the computer screen), theses icons appears after the transmission end along with "my computer" renamed by "Our computer" and "gourdchat" renamed with "Goredchat"
The theory i prefer is gourdchat is used to spread the mindflayer as a lot of people seems to use it and not just installing itself everywhere (Police cases after the reasearch "gourdchat" indicates that people have accounts), i think the minflayer is using really popular things like Joey tribbiani or gourdchat to spread.
For the link between the boys and kiss me, we can see the mind flayer saying "hissed" when the song says "Slapped" which makes "Rember the girl who "hissed" the boys face", hissed could be "kissed", could say that the "the boys" is the mindflayer.
Theory of "kiss me (kill me)" :
The mindflayer infected the girl (she's surely infected after shes says "i feel the eggs ozzing [...]") and the mindflayer "possesed her" like in photograph when JerryTerry deleted is research in google.
The line "The eggs will find your veins" could say your the same guy in front of the computer as in "In the boys are back (to kill you)", since "the boys" wanted to find you.
The guy who shot the girl is surely aware of the mindflayer infection beacause he is wearing a gas mask, he was surely here to contain the infection of the mindflayer by shooting the girl and getting rid of the "infection": maybe the mindflayer uprooted the trees because he became a large infection, (maybe coming out of the screens we see or the infected persons)
Small details :
The "black liquid" on the hat is surely part of the mindflayer.
The melting tree line is maybe corrolated to the joey's head melting in photograph.
Gourdcop is helping the character steal files to spread the infection. (he's showing a file that wasn't asked and has "corrupted" text).
The message window of TL76 is maybe caused by the carachter being infected or is mind fighting the infection because the girls talks about "Hearing her dead loved ones calling out to leave quickly".
And i still can't explain the "Father -> you" part
If i forgot anything please tell me (or if you think i'm wrong, maybe i missunderstood)
Sorry for bad english i'm not native.
PS: Your 100% the guy from "The boys are back (to kill you)" because your searching too prove that somone died on gourdchat while you were watching (or maybe interested in what happenned), and also "TL76" is "ThinLiz_76" from "The boys are back (to kill you)".
@@williambastien8346 there is a few things i think your right on the money about the black liquid being part of the mindflayer, gourdcop knowing spreading the files spreads the infection, this girl being the one who slapped the boys face and POV man being consistant between this and boys. one thing thos You mention gourdchat Being popular but in this video one of the files state gourd chat is Defunct and another states that it just showed up on the Vics computer. The video PIZZA also seems to be involved as it has Joey and the mindflayer and The same "boys" text

"I hear the voice of long dead loved ones calling out to leave quickly" is a line so fucked up and haunting and it seems totally out of place in a what seems more like a science-based story. I just know I'll have nightmares tonight.
Sounds less sciency, and more like a supernatural horror.
This definitely doesn't seem sciencey, there's some eldritch shit happening in this story.
i think it’s referring to the chat window which pleads the viewer to leave and not continue pursuing the mystery
Maybe they mean it's like the SCP kind of sciencey, where supernatural shit is being described like an elaborate investigation(or science report)
@@BierBart12 That would make sense.
I see a lot of people theorizing but nobody mentioning this specific thing, but here:
TL76's chat messages saying to leave the files alone and escape as soon as possible, followed later by "It's impossible. I hear the voice of long-dead loved ones calling out to leave quickly" - i think the implication here is that we (or whatever character is in first person) are already too late by that point - we're already having the symptoms of the parasite or eldritch creature before they're even mentioned in the song. We had a long-dead person calling out to us via chat to leave quickly. Yet it was too late.
Oh my god that's so cool! I never noticed, that makes so much sense. Would also explain why the computers starts to leak out black liquid and the screen looks like throbbing flesh. Very interesting!
there's also an explanation that it is blowfly eggs inciting this reaction! :)
well. spesifically the eggs under her skin, since they're known to lay their eggs in open wounds
Omfg, I didn’t put it together that TL76 is “ThinLiz_76” from the boys are back! It’s implied that they died for trying to protect you from “the boys” so assuming “we” are the same character from that video, it really is the voice of a long dead loved one calling out to leave quickly. The fact that the words are slowly getting faded with each verse to symbolize she’s slowly losing control/dying really adds to it as well
I also just realized what that little motif is - it’s the guitar lick from The Boys Are Back In Town! This shit is LAYERED
I interpret the "You'll wake up from this scary dream and laugh" line to be as if the singer has completely lost hope at returning to their former life, and has simply accepted that the best course of action would be to sever the connection between "the path" that she's opened up (her curse and the physical world, presumably); thus, she tries to reassure her friend that this scary dream will be over soon and that it'll only be a distant memory... That's an actual possibility, holy shit.
Now that I think about it, the boys only really started to do violent stuff after the dude in the first video mentioned that the girl that slapped the boy's face died. Maybe they were actually just chill and genuinely wanting to catch up with everybody, only for them to start becoming monstrous when someone used violence on them.
@@HATVAULT I think about this as I feel like it may be more likely that the boys are some sort of inhuman entities or entity? As there’s a high chance that the girl in this song is the one who kissed or slapped one of the boys(?) it seems incredibly strange for it to just be a sudden flip when it comes to both songs, Aswell as the statements of the girl’s veins being filled with eggs and that the pain is immense from the situation before becoming nothing but euphoria and pleasure (if she was still herself at that point which I doubt) and asking to be killed as dying would be better than what was happening to her, I personally believe that she was lured by one of the boys (perhaps in love with one of them(?) as they could appear humanoid, and was transformed into something entirely new, most likely by the eggs, and having the pain being so immense from the situation, she would’ve preferred a quick and easy death, and if she knew what was happening as she was still wishing for death afterwards, she probably knew death would’ve been a better fate and being shot and killed right after being discovered? It’s incredibly interesting to me and the thought that the boys were just passive eldritch beings before some sort of thing occurring is chilling, but I have a feeling that they might’ve just been hostile the whole time ?
The boys aswell seem to most likely appear humanoid enough to be capable of luring the girl to death, aswell as having the ability to cause severe delusions and deluriousness if she seemed to be so joyous about the situation and all the things listed like being kissed around a place with bubbling crow skulls, realize that the situation is dire and that she needs help, only to succumb to what the boys really are is just... hoo boy, a trip to say the least ! It’s fun to analyze about it because there’s a ton to think about what the boys are and what exactly happened to the girl .

5:24 pretty subtle yet tragic moment here: though we see text for both voices for the rest of the verse, the 'real' girl's voice can only be heard echoing the repeated "kiss me". I interpret this as the girl having a moment of weakness in her terror and despair, and only wanting the comfort of her lover's kiss regardless of the consequences.

Hi jane prentiss
I was watching this video while in a car but then paused. I looked out of the window and was confused because I could still hear it playing. It took me a second to realize I was hearing the original song playing on the radio. With how the song sounds and the horror vibes it engrained in my head, that was honestly freaky.
holy shit that must have been terrifying
THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME AT A GAS STATION AT NIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE (I live in a rural area) IT WAS SO SURREAL
Now I'm imagining somebody listening to this with it initially in perfect sync and then getting confused. thank you for this.
something kinda similar happened to me. I have this Steam program that allows you to have animated backgrounds on your pc. I have an entire play list of donkey kong country backgrounds that play the songs of the stages I have as a background.
occasionally I mute them to help me listening to other things. So I had it muted and was watching a podcast kind of thing while playing a game. Suddenly I just hear a faint melody of aquatic ambiance and I knew I had the backgrounds muted. For a solid second I thought I was having auditory hallucinations, but then I realized it was just part of the podcast I was listening to.
I experienced that same feeling today while I was at the store with my dad it took me a minute to realize the song that was playing over the intercom
I just realized that we might be the singer's boyfriend's father, it makes sense when she says "What was your father's name?" and it circles "you", along with GourdCop redacting the comment when she says "We'll use your father's map." I believe the person she's been talking to is an agent of "The Boys" and after she is infected, she is trying to convince us to join The Boys. It would explain why she initially questions the trees having veins and such, but later says she's "feeling so much better", as if she's accepted the transformation.
Also, this probably goes without saying, but GourdCop is *not* on our side. It is actively leading us into a trap, this shows when he closes the chat w/ ThinLiz_76's warning and snickers to himself. It could possibly be an extension of the parasite masquerading as a file recovery/syphoning software, which would line up w/ the computer itself becoming physically corrupted as the analysis progresses. This has happened before, as GourdChat steals the user's computer in The Boys are Back in Town (to Kill You), relabelling the application "My Computer" to "Our Computer." This is also supported by GourdCop's eerie grin after we close the analysis, and the warning against taking confidential files now mockingly encourages us to take them, knowing that no one will believe us. The "Out to Lunch" sign also alludes to us potentially being it's next victim, in reference to how the parasite consumes victims from the inside w/ eggs, and it knows our location (having been with us via GourdCop). On top of that, after we leave the room, there's a distorted voice taunting us, saying "Kiss me, hide hide."
Basically, I think The Boys are pursuing us, all the while we're illegally investigating into what our son had to do w/ an unidentified girl's death and ThinLiz_76 is strangely still alive. The parasite itself is most likely the mindflayer from earlier, being referenced by the line "beside the boiling tendrils."
Edit: I've also noticed that the singer isn't truly dead as the recording would suggest, since around 7:40, you can hear her in the background saying "Kiss me, kiss me, hide hide." Funnily enough, if you listen closely to it, you'll hear a second voice on-top of her own saying "Help me, help me, help help." I could just be hearing things, but eh. Also, the second time she speaks, there's a red glow on the monitor, and it gets slightly brighter when she speaks the third and final time this video, as if shes physically approaching. So, not only are we potentially being pursued by The Boys, we're being pursued via the girl the police assumed was dead. But how could she have known were we'd be, *unless she knows who we are, and knows we'd try to find answers about her supposed death, as well as everything else happening?* I think we, the user, must related to her in some way. Or, maybe she just has an innate sense of where we are due to her infection, and The Boys are actually one large parasitic hivemind, I'm not sure tbh.
Edit 2: I've noticed a lot of people theorizing that we, the pov character we're in, is actually being infected as we watch the tape transcript. I've seen people mention the "long dead loved ones + ThinLiz" thing, the black goop coming from the computer, the voices from offscreen at the end potentially being ours, and I think it's a solid theory. I originally thought the voice belonged to the girl, with the whole "I'll only come back stronger" line, but now I'm not sure what to think.
In the “boys are back (to kill you)” there is a frame at the end with Joey from friends with some kind parasite thing on his head. There was also an app called joeys head. It makes more since now with all this context.
@@FlapJackBackpack That would be the mindflayer, but correct!
I actually feel like GourdChat isn't the villain. The singer says she hears the voices of dead loved ones telling her to leave quickly... which is exactly what ThinLiz was doing. To me, GourdCop was protecting the viewer. Also, the supernatural happenings for most of this video have nothing to do with GourdChat, so there's something deeper at play. I get "trickster god" vibes from the gourd, like it's leading people to these paranormal cases for its own amusement. It's sinister but not necessarily evil.

Everyone else has already covered everything that's brilliant about this in detail, so I'll add that I really like how much character I can glean from the 'consultant' with the orange annotations, just through the text. The idea of this stern, unflappable expert being called in by the regular small-town detectives when they're stumped, sighing cause the beat cops must have missed something obvious again, then being presented with THIS really gets me. The growing sense of frustration and fear as they struggle to make head or tail of the song, in tandem with the audience? Excellent.
Agreed. The experts getting called in only to find out that the problem is so outside-context that they're just as out of their depth as everyone else is such a cool trope.

There's a psychological phenomenon called the Zeigarnik effect which describes how the brain tends to hang onto information it deems to be part of an incomplete task. Songs you don't know well or stop listening to partway through can have an easier time getting stuck in your head because of this.
The decision to cut off the end of this song mid-verse was genius because it renders the song "incomplete," and your brain has a harder time letting go of it. It becomes... an earworm. A musical brain parasite.
Seems appropriate, no?
Yes! This also combines with the many loose threads left open. The “sickly sweet smell” and “black wet chains” are just oddly specific details. We don’t know his father’s name unless I’m behind on something. The font of her in the 3rd section of the song is the same one that the boy’s used when changing the text on the computer… so that implies the text here is the creatures inside her veins controlling her voice, but what’s the connection between the boys and her? We don’t know who killed her. The cops seem to be ignoring the important details, as some of the later reviewers of the case have pointed out. We don’t know why someone is trying to steal the files. And, finally, that’s her voice at the end off of the computer screen? Like we know almost nothing about the story at this point, and the music’s cliffhangers and refusals to resolve psychologically burn those narrative irresolutions into your brain.
Lots of world building and really careful thought put into what must have sounded like the silliest idea. If you can execute something well, the idea almost doesn’t matter… if you know how to craft experiences (like through tools like the Zeigarnik effect), you can spin your worst idea into a really really good final product. Of course, that’s not to say there’s no merit in coming up with brilliant ideas from the offset, as of course really creative ideas executed well have their own unique charms and strengths. I say just that for new artists or those having some sort of artistic block related to idea creation, this is a great case study in how there’s value and charm to things like “Kiss Me but Psych. Horror and elements of Crime Thriller all told through a pumpkin themed OS”… human suspension of disbelief is high.
I can’t wait to see what lore we will get this Halloween, if any.

Somethings I noticed:
At the beginning of the video, our protagonist is struggling to get into the computer, showing that this is most likely not their computer. I think that they are breaking into this computer to find more information on their friend that was killed by The Boys;
the "TL76" that messages our protagonist is most likely ThinLiz_76 from "The Boys Are Back In Town (to kill you)," due to them having the same initials. At 3:29 the Female Singer says "I hear the voices of long-dead loved ones calling out to leave quickly" which is exactly what TL76 tells our protagonist, which adds to the evidence that ThinLiz and TL76 are most likely the same user. For the whole "long dead" part, the computer in this video and TBABITTKY are from completely different eras, showing that it's likely been a long time since that incident. As well as the file our protagonist pulls up is labeled as "311098" which appears to be a date, specifically Halloween of 1998. Going off of the date system, it appears that the Kiss Me incident takes place before The Boys incident, specifically on August 12th of 1998.
Later on, after the Singer has been infected with the eggs, the text switches to the same style as seen in "The Boys Are Back in Town (to kill you)" when The Boys are covering up whatever ThinLiz is trying to tell the protagonist. The text is normally the opposite of what ThinLiz says, which is why I think this part is very cool. Everything said in the Red Blue and Black text is something that is either not true or something the singer doesn't want to happen (like her friend Kissing her as it would likely lead to them being infected as well, and the fact that she feels better), however "Your bones will harden and your skin will slough" is not in the special text, which shows that this is at the very least true. The final "So kiss ME" in this segment is partially normal text and partial special text. I think this could show that she truly wants one final kiss from whoever she is with, but the "ME" being in special text could show that she is no longer one single person (hence the eggs in her veins) which is why it is in the special text rather than the normal blue.
The "kill me" segment being in blue shows that she is being completely sincere with this request, she isn't feeling so much better and wants to wake up from this scary dream and laugh.
As to the path she talks about in this segment? I have no idea, perhaps it's the path seen on her friend's father's map which would lead more creatures like her and The Boys into this world.
Her next segment gets cut short due to her being **ahem** neutralized. But as seen in the end of the video, this didn't work, and she only wakes up stronger.
other things that don't fit into specific segments:
Couple of the melodies from The Boys Are Back in Town (to kill you) are here
GourdCop has a different appearance at the end of the video, not too dissimilar to GourdChat guy turning Black at the end of TBABITTKY.
Probably some other things I missed, but I'll add them here if I find anything.
I believe that this also takes place in the same universe as "photograph" and The Thing on Joey's Head is also an eldritch horror of some kind (perhaps the same one that the Singer is affected by in this video).
"photograph" uses the same text as this video and TBABITTKY, namely when saying that there is nothing on Joey's Head (which there most certainly is) and to "Embrace the mindflayer" perhaps the (or a) Mindflayer is what laid the eggs in the Female Singer which turned her into a monster. The singer mentions "boiling tendrils" which the (presumable) Mindflayer on Joey's Head has. The Singer also mentions that her friends "skin will slough" if they kiss her/get the eggs, and in "photograph" we can clearly see that Joey's skin is starting to discolor and decay.
Since Friends aired in 1994 I believe that this is the first appearance of the Mindflayer, since "photograph" is so adamant about the thing being on Joey's Head rather than Matt's head.
Edit: added some extra evidence and thoughts
Edit 2: added some things about "photograph"
I'm liking your thoughts

Whatever ambience is going on in the beginning instantly had me cautious and engaged. Even the cute derpy part of the song didn't feel right, since I knew this was a police analysis for a missing persons case, and the annotations ensured I wouldn't forget it either.
This has such a good tone to it. Its not the kind of horror that makes me scream, but the kind of stuff that feels so.... sickly and vile. Its like getting a high fever in the middle of the night and laying half awake and confused. I got such a sinking feeling from listening to 5:05 for the first time. The dread and buildup and overall weirdness is great.
Also the instruments at 5:27 are golden. I have no clue what to call the "intense action/horror film two notes falling in succession" thing that happened, but I love it. It really brings home the whole "oh shit oh fuck she's violent get the hell outta there right now" feeling.
So true
i have to say, the lyrics in this song are complete genius. referencing blowflies in the first refrain is brilliant foreshadowing if you know anything about em- they appear on corpses and cadavers, and their eggs hatch to the typical maggots you see on said "rotting meat". i could make a whole analysis on why this video and song are absolute gold. you're insane, jerryterry. your work continues to blow me away.

NOTABLE THINGS IN THIS VIDEO:
1:26 image at is the same monitor as in TBABIT(TKY), background and everything, implying that the POV in that video sadly succumbed to The Boys after all. this report also tells us the incident happened on 31/10/1998. another thing of note is that the name of the report is R21-311098-013. the monitor is also oozing in the same way our monitor in this video does later on, implying the two incidents are caused by the same thing
1:48 when gourdcop helps, he pulls up a different file, NOT the one we were looking for. this incident occurred on 12/08/1998, two and a half months before The Boys Incident, and the name of the report is M28-120898-001, confirming the middle numbers refers to the date. 001 usually indicates that something is the first (or only) with the name preceding it, which would imply that the death of the POV in TBABIT(TKY) was the 13th incident that same day. also notable is that while this incident is categorized as "missing persons", the TBABIT(TKY) case is categorized as a "single murder"
2:40 as cottoncandylesbo pointed out, blowflies are the kind of flies that lay their eggs in corpses, as the singer experiences later on
2:49 TL76 is for sure thinliz_76, the person who warned the POV in TBABIT(TKY) and was subsequently killed for not telling The Boys where we could be found. thinliz_76 was also searched for at the start of the video. the lyrics later has the singer claim to "hear the voice of long-dead loved ones calling out to leave quickly" which is exactly what the dead thinliz_76 is doing. but if the POV for TBABIT(TKY) is dead, are we a different loved one of thinliz_76? gourdcop closes the window and snickers, then narrows their eyes. just in case you wondered if they were on our side
4:03 FATHER is underlined and circles to the YOU in YOUR, implying WE are the singer's friend's father. earlier in the video gourdcop also removed the "[COMMENT REDACTED]" that was attached to the first "father" line as if they dont want us to know. so it is our map they are following. did our child take it without our permission, or did we purposefully use it to trap the two? i doubt the map was always made of human skin, and that this is most likely the result of being near whatever is causing this (same thing happened with the trees and is happening to our computer monitor as the video goes on).
5:06 as Countered Snow pointed out, the text here is the same as the ominous, "opposite meaning" text in TBABIT(TKY) as well as in photograph. this leads me to believe these lyrics aren't what the singer actually wants or believes, but what the thing that's infected her wants you to hear. the text is blue again on the last line, so your bones really WILL harden and your skin with slough :) the text then returns to the ominous font, however the lyrics are ALSO displayed in the normal blue font representing the singer, so maybe the singer has accepted the change now and agrees with it?
6:07 same melody as the intro do TBABIT(TKY)
7:08 the last annotation was on 31/10/2001, meaning this video takes place sometime after that. it is however possible that WE are the orange annotation, so it could mean this video takes place on 31/10/2001 exactly. although i dont remember if monitors looked like that back in the day (i was 1), i feel like they didnt yet :P
7:16 the "REMEMBER:" note has been changed.
7:47 its getting closer
NOTABLE THINGS FROM PREVIOUS JERRYTERRY VIDEOS:
in the last third of photograph the video shows a comment where someones asking what the thing on joeys head actually was (like the lyric from photograph by nickelback). the replies assure them there is nothing joeys head, the accounts all of which have a picture of joey tribbiani from friends, the last one being called "Embrace_Tribbiani". the POV searched for joey tribbiani on google and all the images show joey tribbiani with a green, squid-like being on his head, and half his face has lost its color and is decaying. the POV continues searching what the thing on joeys head is, and text in the same font as in this video and TBABIT(TKY) says "THERE IS NOTHING ON JOEY'S HEAD", "EMBRACE THE MINDFLAYER" and "LOVE HIM".
at the end of TBABIT(TKY), right after thinliz_76 is killed and hangs up, the gourdchat now says goredchat lol, though its icon still says gourdchat but it is blue like when it was clicked. "my computer" icon now reads "our computer". the "internet explorer" icon has been changed to The Thing on Joey's Head and reads "nothing". the "my briefcase" icon has been changed to Joey's Head and reads "JoeysHead". at the end of the video one of the images that showed up in photograph of joeys head with "nothing" on his head appears.
CONCLUSIONS:
the thing that caused this incident is "the mindflayer". i think the mindslayer is attached to the "sweet scent" mentioned in the video - the annotations at the end comment on how the shooter seems to be wearing a hazmat suit to protect against "contamination", and also bring up the sweet scent. maybe contact with it is what causes the monster transformation and/or illusions? the mindflayer may also be the same thing as the thing on joey's head, considering his face is decaying, similar to the rotting descriptions in this video.
the mindflayer also affected The Boys back in TBABIT(TKY), what happened to the singer here happened to The Boys before they got Back In Town (To Kill You), they were likely infected while they'd been away.
there is also the possibility that none of what the singer experiences is actually real, but, as the police department claims a few times, just a delusion. if it was real you would think the cops would have noticed when they got to the scene of the crime, and 0821 also comments on how the singer's descriptions of her surroundings don't correspond to the actual surroundings after a while. this would also add up with the "mindflayer" name.
however contradicting this point is that the monitor in the TBABIT(TKY) report looks the same as it eventually does here, implying it is real after all, but maybe that's an illusion as well
EDIT: Tom Baker pointed out its "mindflayer", not "mindslayer" lol, as well as explained that mindflayer is the name of a D&D creature that apparently eats brains, have psychic powers, and parasitically transform other people into mindflayers, all of which add up perfectly with this video and with the thing being on joeys head......... big thanks!! :O the plot thickens
feel free to comment if i missed anything :) epic video
Great analysis! Though if you go back to the Photograph video you'll see the creature is actually called the MindFLAYER, not slayer. Small change but important to consider, since that's a D&D creature with a lot of explicit ideas attached to it that can better expand our understanding of what this monster is all about. D&D mindflayers eat brains (the thing on Joey's head could straight up be eating his brain), have psychic powers (the hallucinations), and transform other people into mindflayers with parasites (the eggs in the veins). If there's any other connections the mindflayers in the JerryTerry musical horror narrative could be trying to take over the world/rule over everyone in a similar manner to the D&D mindflayers too.

6:28 "kill me, I'll only wake up stronger" was maybe not as metaphorical as I thought

At 2:50, TL76, the person talking in the window that pops up, is probably ThinLiz_76, the person who is giving the warning in The Boys Are Back In Town (to kill you). This means they either survived the Boys, or, more likely, it's the same thing that the singer talks about at 3:29 ("I hear the voice of long dead loved ones calling out to leave quickly"). This means that whatever happened to the people in the song is also likely happening to the dude on the computer, which goes with the off-computer voice at the end saying the same thigs that were said in the song

@@wintermute8315 it's not a ripoff, it's a cover/sample. You don't have to credit every sample you use and to cover/rearrange things is just a part of music.
So that explains why this song felt so familiar
From my knowledge this song was pretty popular at one point, I’ve heard it before
Oh boi here it comes some big analysis:
To start up with, I think I can identify who the characters might be, if we remember "The boys are back in town", the song talks at some moment about a girl who slapped one of them and now she is dead, but "slapped" is glitched into saying "kissed", and based on the whole lyrics of this song, I think we can ensure this girl is the same one. The boys probably set some short of trap to kill her and take her corpse into their hive mind, proved due to how the text looks after she goes full berserk, being the same font as in the glitched words from "The boys are back in town" along side multiple other smaller texts as representing multiple voices speaking (thing also noticed in this video as we cannot only hear the girl's voice, but multiple others fused within hers) so it's probably not her who is speaking, but the boys through her body all at the same time, and they are aware we are watching.
The song also mentions a father, probably the father of the boy the girl is singing to, and there is a moment where it says "What is your father's name?" and the text abruptly focuses on YOU, not YOUR, but YOU, so we can suggest we are actually the boy's father and the same one who took down the girl at the end, also, based on the text from TL76, being ThinLiz_76, we can be sure we are the person he sacrificed himself for and The boys' current target, this would also explain why he tries to warn us about what is happening, because we are starting to have the same symptoms the girl had, seeing someone who is already dead warning us to escape and seeing black goo and veiny textures in whatever we are seeing (the screen in this case), just how in the video it says they found goo near the area and the girl ensures she is seeing the trees throbbing and having veins in them, in addition, after the girl gets fully taken by The boys, they start to directly talk to us, trying to convince us how lending ourselves to them is a positive thing and how we don't even have an option because THEY will find us sooner or later, meaning they are already aware we are in this computer, probably because they are the computer's administrator, which was warned at the start after many incorrect password attempts, and due to how the girl seems to be singing at the background at the end (7:47), it seems they are already here, using the same girl's body to hunt us down.
For what seems to be the symptoms and the thing contaminating the girl, it seems to be some short of gas or spores with hallucinogen effects, leading her to be babbling incoherences during this same song and watching things which aren't there such as a long dead loved one or veins, in addition, it's making the girl rot and attract blowflies, which are laying their eggs on her while she is still conscious about it, in addition, when The boys take control of her, she seems to act like some short of zombie, the blowflies are still filling her body with eggs and maggots yet she finds it now pleasurable rather than painful, also, when she manages to fight for control, she begs the one we can suggest to be her boyfriend to kill her, however, she is aware it will just make time for him to run away and search for help, because the other person comes and shoots her down but when police is investigating, they don't find her corpse and at the end (7:47 again) she is approaching the place we are in.
underrated comment, also I think theres something to do with the different yet same messages at 0:48 and 7:13
I think people have pointed out that this is a prequel to the boys. At least, that's how I've been thinking of it. She got lead somewhere, she got infected, the person she was with was "kissed" and maybe that transformation afterwards made the person into "the boys". TBABIT mentions she kissed the boys' face, which kinda implies they're one entity. I've been thinking about it as this girl was patient zero, so to speak. Idk though, just my thoughts.

One of my favorite things about this is that all of the menu sounds (text appearing, selecting options, etc.) are all either in key with the music, or are compliments to the respective chord it's played during. Tickles my ears in all the best ways! Nicely done!
I personally believe this incident was a mistake on the girl's friend's part. They found a map from their father and sought to bring their friend on an adventure to explore some old ruins. The earlier lines reference faded warning signs, barricades, and broken walls, indicating they were entering some sort of abandoned facility, one with dangerous materials present. As things go wrong, I think the friend realizes, and runs and hides in fear, past the earlier landmarks, potentially going back to their house, to get their father. Either by phone or just proximity, they call their father to help, which is who shows up at the end, putting down the monster, much against the friend's wishes. Since it was labelled as "missing persons" and not just the murder, I believe the father and the friend then left to flee the incident that was caused, though that's more speculation than anything.
this is my favourite interpretation
Ok this is a good one. It explains a lot.
I don't think it's just a facility, I think it's an entire parallel universe. That explains why the cops couldn't find the crumbling walls, the warning signs, or the barricade.
@@flaetsbnort or maybe just somewhere very well hidden/far away. thus needing the map to find it
The only issue with this is the case log states that there were two victims (likely, in this situation, meaning two deaths: the possessed and the friend, unless the person that pulled the trigger also died in the area after this which is unlikely). The person at the end tells someone to "step aside", but we have two victims. This leads me to believe that this is some sort of ritual gone wrong and that the possession was intentional and monitored until it got out of hand, in which case an outside party was called in to put an end to it.
I really do like body horror.
But I won't lie, there is something about this that unsettles me to such a degree that I've been thinking about it on and off for the last few days. Every time I do, I feel uneasy right then and there, on the spot. The lyrics and visuals maybe? Who knows.
All I know is that this video achieves the goal that it was going for a little too well.
Is it the mystery about the nature of the monster or the fact that the victim is fully aware during the transformation.
For me its everything about the video that nicely ties it together into a pulsating meat present, but also largely the fact that the chords and lyrics are still vaguely happy even in the transformation segment, really off-putting and unsettling. Ties in well with the idea that she is still vaguely conscious of the transformation happening but "thing" is melding with her being. Also I think if it just went full lovecraftian horror towards the last segment it wouldn't be dissonant, and wouldn't be near as effective as it is.
@@denno445 also helps that the viewer is forced to experience the situation first hand rather than watching it happen to someone else. We're trapped in the chair staring right at the warping screen and can't move. It's an audience engager that's tricky to manuever in your average horror film.
its one of the most haunting things I've seen. I keep on hearing "kiss me.... hide hide" stopping me from sleeping multiple nights. the song and the whole atmosphere is like the parasite, it clings to you.

Kiss Me is a song I associate so strongly with my childhood. I was 9 when it came out and would hear it on the radio. It reminds me of pokemon cards and riding my bike to the park down the street; of summer afternoons and watching the Parent Trap on VHS over and over again and it is so gut-bustlingly funny that this is some people's first experience with the song and they don't realize that it's *an actual song* until they hear it in the background over the grocery store speaker. Genius stuff, keep it up!
I've heard this song everywhere forever haha! I bet they have too, and haven't really paid any attention until hearing this and recognizing the tune

Genuinely found out through this version first. Then started hearing it being played over the speakers at the diy store i work in. Had to pause and listen to confirm that it was probably the og version and wasn't about to get eerie.
Everyone's missing the real lore of this song; it's all a meta distraction. The viewer (us) was trying to learn about The Boys, but was quickly intercepted and redirected to a different unrelated case (song). In the end, we're left "infected" by this new song, a new mystery to solve that distracts us from our original goal of The Boys.
Truly genius storytelling.

This is legitimately my favorite piece of horror media ever. It takes a standard song and does things with it that are not only scary, but genuinely unsettling, disturbing, and outright horrifying to think about. I absolutely love the concept behind this song, and I love the way it's executed with the human skin and veins beating through the screen. Fantastic video.
The line "Why do the trees have veins?" is terrifying to me in ways I can't describe.
The tree is human skin
I agree. Part of the horror for me is the slow realization that the lines on the computer screen weren't tree branches, but veins.
The saddest part for me is still when she says “you’ll wake up from this scary dream and laugh” like even when she’s in so much pain shes still trying to comfort the other person
I feel like we are all underestimating gourdchat's role in all this given that it has dozens of reports in the police department and in the original boy's video appears to be manipulated by the boys as well as being what our POV character choses to search after the boys and thinliz_76(the speaker for the boys video as well as potentially the person working with the POV in this one TL76?) fail to get any results. Tying Gourdchat into the boys and their cosmic horror style infection perhaps as a tool they use and can freely manipulate in addition there is obviously gourdcop from this video who seems to be pretty clearly a pawn of this redirecting the focus from the incident from the boys video to the seemly infectious case from this video as well as close TL76's warning and finally as what may be either the most damming or least damming piece of evidence of all is what I believe to be the gourdchat leitmotif at 6:07 which seems to have a sense of importance even if I'm not sure what yet as it also seems to be right as she steals her senses back
