MAMP is very simple to use compared to XAMPP I use that as well on the PC but I have a website I am putting together with prestashop and its much faster doing locally due to the file upload issues on prestashop when doing it to the server (times out). As well as being able to test bulk uploads and it will build a reliable backup in a local environment that is easy to move to my .com later.
+Road Less Traveled you were right Matt. After using it for a while it feels much smoother than the windows variant. If the software you wish to install is in the drop down list it will populate the database for you in phpmyadmin (well in Wordpress at least). In windows you have to go in there and create it yourself. I shall try and do a video myself. You've inspired me to give it a try.
Thank you for this. Was very helpful. The official video on the Presta Shop Site was not as easy as this.
Fantastic! thank you really straight forward
Thank you mate!
Thank you!
I've found using local host on mac confusing. I work with xampp on windows.
Need to give it another try on mac I think.
