I just finished playing the 10 hour free trial on EA Play and all I can say is this game is so enjoyable it may be the first time I ever pay full price for a game! I still can't get my head around how the London courses look so realistic. Having been a motorcycle courier in London for many years I can honestly say I recognise practically every single building, road and corner although there has been a bit of artistic licence in the odd area. I particularly love the electric vehicles and was driving the single seater around London at the same time as the Formula E race was on in New York on my other tv and the sound was practically the same, which begs the question when is Codemasters going to do a deal with the owners of Formula E and create a racing sim or at least licence the cars and tracks so they can be used in Grid Legends? As for now I'll just have to go back to playing Grid until I can afford to become a Legend!
Played the trial.. Not got the full game!!..yet..absolutely brilliant 👌
you guys actually knocked it out of the park with this one... I might actually consider this one to be even better than Grid 1 and 2

Played around 5 hours from EA Play and game is good, I am surprised how much the game is an improvement over 2019. Great job Codemasters.
It is 100% an improvement. Unfortunately it's still just very average
How is the AI? I watched a lot of videos and it seems the AI is too weak even on highest level. A lot of players can confirm that.

@@Ravecat27 yes, it is weak. I am playing at legendary difficulty and still manages to increase the gap about 4-8 seconds from the second player. They need to tweak things in that department.
@@harmannfs8297 That's a shame, it was already a problem in Grid 2019. The AI is pretty quick on some tracks and absolutely awful on others.

Does it have a cockpit view ? I remember loving 1 went to town seen 2 expected a upgraded version of one and I got NFS shift basically, and no cockpit view :( EDIT , trailer has confirmed it does , looks awesome too

Why does everyone say the AI was too easy in Grid 2019? In my own experience it was just unbalanced, in some races the AI was unbeatable and in some it was easy.
I always had to switch between middle and hard difficulty

Played 10 hour Demo on Xbox series S, the game is outstanding...I must admit, I was skeptical because 2019 was questionable so great job on the free demo for people to try for themselves! I'm sold, pre ordered digital edition for PS5 😎👊

I've been playing the 10 hours trial via Game Pass. This game is an improvement over the previous episode in many ways.
The career has a better structure (even if the og Race Driver Grid remains the best in that matter - i don't understand why you don't want to adapt a similar structure), the gameplay has evolved and is more arcade oriented (this is a good point, considering the essence of the Grid series), the destinations and meteo effects are gorgeous (Havana 💯), the elimination races are tense (with a high difficulty), the RPG elements are welcome.
Now you need to double down with the expansions and support, bring even more versatility.
Overall it's a W.
But it's still crap

I'd say more Forza Horizon style than DD. But, didn't the original GRID have a destruction Derby style race or two in it? (it's been a while since I've played the series, this one looks fun though).

I just got this game and I can't get anyone to play online with me kinda sux but I do enjoy the game
The story mode is engaging and only using the 10 hour preview trial but game seems good. The story mode has excellent flow to it.

Great game, but bad timing. GT7 just came out, but I'm definitely picking this one up later down the line. But maybe it's great for xbox and PC players to have a new racing game besides GT7.
But it looks really promising. Really loved the gameplay and handling in the Grid Remake. The Platinum was a bit tough though with the thousands of miles to drive...

I can imagine! A full simulator thats has a really proper damage model, In depth team management, Endurance races in with dynamic time and weather coditions ,Pitstops... I'm a really casual racer but I really love the concept of this!

Please add back customisable sponsors. Grid 2008 was the first codemasters game to do this and now dirt, f1, and project cars all have this yet grid legends doesn't. Its the same as 2019. The game overall is a big improvement but its a shame that we can only use preset sponsors which heavily limit creativity with the liveries as the ones pre-chosen will most likely not look the best with alot of colour combinations or livery styles.
I think we've all just got to accept that this series is going to do it's best to push away from being like the original Grid. That's the only reason why they've 'rebooted' the series to begin with. Let's just hope it's actually fun, for what it is.
However, knowing EA, this might very well be the last Grid game we'll ever see if it doesn't make enough numbers, probably.

I've downloaded the early access trial on PS5 and for my surprise the game doesn't recognize my Fanatec Gt DD pro. Not only that, if I start the game with the wheel turned on it corrupts my save file. I have to say this is far from ideal.

Because the handling in this game is so vague and clunky you can't help but hit every car you try to pass, and spin out for even looking in the direction of an apex... But seriously, I think it's because Codemasters have no idea what their target audience is, and don't listen to actual fans of racing games for what they want from them. They're going for the easy sell; the kids who's parents buy them the "fun" game, and the causal audience who like the idea of racing but think games like Gran Turismo and Forza are too boring or too realistic
Because Grid was never about super clean racing. That's Gran Turismo for you
