I'd like to apologise for taking longer than usual to post a new video. I'll make sure to post another one before the end of the month! Also I decided not to include music in today's video, just to keep things nice and fresh, ya know? Much love to all of you, wherever you may be :)
WOW!!! Nick and Billy are really 5 star 🌟 friends! You are extremely fortunate to have these men who care about you, especially considering the enormous amount of their own responsibilities and projects. Good men all around!
Hi Ryan, I'm gonna also have to side with Billy on the cleaning up as you go. There's a saying i heard a while back, a stitch in time, saves nine. It's also better to have sure footing within your construction site, my goodness you guys climbed those stairs and they absolutey need a visit with that broom, YIKES! 👍🏼😀
Well done Billy for teaching Ryan how to use a broom 😝. But seriously, loving both your channels and now realise why Billy looks so tired at times. He is Superman! Ryan, look after your mate, and buy him a pint! Keep up the great work both of you
We just have to convince Ryan. This project is daunting to him. If he listens to Billy and concentrates on one thing at a time it will slowly come together.
I bloody love when the two of you get together in a video! The humour and dynamic between you is incredible to watch and I always know I’m gonna be cracking up the whole way through 😂
I appreciate Billy's work ethic to clean up the site at the end of every day. Then the next day is a clean slate. Glad that he could help you and provide his good advice.
Ryan, I'm a single mother who renovated my house whilst pregnant (and during the first year after birth) without knowing anything about renovation. I asked for help when needed and learned as I went. It's not perfect, but it's pretty darn good. You can do it too!
Ryan you have to face it, you need someone with you to keep pushing. Thank you Billy, your gentle pep talk will hopefully help Ryan to work more and procrastinate less. Ryan, Billy is right, clean up as you go or you will be faced with a big mess at the end, not to mention loose stones etc can be a trip hazard.
Ryan, after all the years you’ve watched and helped Billy, I think you know more than you think you do. I also think it makes you anxious and afraid to do anything without help. After the first start you’ll see you can do it. If you get stuck look on the internet for help. I’ve watched a lot of u tube videos and they are always looking at their phones. I know you’ve got this Ryan. 😊😊
At this rate Billy helps Ryan, Phil helps Billy, Nick helps Billy & Ryan, Ryan helps Billy & Nick, Yanis helps Sadie, Billy helps Sadie, Billy helps Phil (in background) All I know is it’s a joy to watch ALL !
Keeping a tidy workplace is a safety thing Ryan, and it's always so much better to work when there's not tons of rubble and debris about! 😛 Great to see another video on that sweet place, and as some other amazing UA-camrs like to say, keep cracking on mate! 😁👍
So great to see Billy there!! The work at the convent is so amazing! And Billy is giving his friend help, education, encouragement!! And a bit refreshing to see Billy in a MUCH smaller & no less daunting task. SO EXCITING!!
I can’t imagine how overwhelming your project must be but I agree with Billy. Focus on one thing at a time and before you know it, it will be a beautiful home.
Good talk, Billy. Ryan needs to believe he can do these tasks. He doesn’t need to wait for someone to walk him through it. Stop hiding behind the camera & own this work & this house, Ryan. You can do this. Again, you can do this. Stop overthinking & start working.
Your a smart man. Let every body else do it and you watch and pretend you are learning. Very smart😊 Love Mr. Bill for trying to help you and you you are mocking him. Have fun
Fun video. Someone commented about keeping the floors clean is a safety thing. I would like to see you sweep all the stairs to get rid of the plaster debris so that you don't slip on it and fall.
Ryan you missed the chance to point out to Billy that the next floor up is currently spotless. You two look as though you had a good time working together again.
Good grief Ryaln, clean those steps off before some slips on the debrie and gets injured. Keeping a site clean is number one on any site for safety. Maybe I'll leave it to Billy to "chew you out" on that note as I know he will. 🤣Things are coming along. Slowly but surely it will be completed so have patience. Good job today!
Billy is so right about Just Do It. I can't believe the things I've learned to do over the past 10 years that I've been updating my house. Of course, I leave the really technical stuff to the the experts (electricals, plumbing). But basically, youtube has been a Godsend.
Ryan. I just started tearing up, when I seen Billy. He is knee, no neck deep at the convent, and he has come to help his bestie! Please pay attention and learn what he is teaching you, because you have 4 more floors just like this to do. Billy. You sweet, sweet man. Have fun you 2.
Give a man a fish, he eats for a day, teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime, make a man do his own cement work, he has pride of accomplishment. ;)
Well done Billy sound advice, it’s a big project and unless Ryan starts researching how to do some of these jobs it’s going to take you and Nick years to get it finished. Good lesson on how to use the broom too, I can’t work in an untidy workspace. Come on Ryan you don’t need a lesson in keeping the place tidy and safe 😂😂
Clean up every day Ryan and don’t wait for your friends to come and waste their valuable time doing what you should have done. Far more productive if they can start with a clean slate and not have to clean up after you. The very least you can do is keep your site tidy !!
Courage Rayan.
Well done you two. Ryan now you know how to mix the concrete, set it and add stones where necessary! Now you need to practice, practice, practice. You can do it!
Glad to see you back at it, Ryan! You are really new to all this, and it can seem overwhelming. It takes courage and tenacity and a lot of persistence to see through a project like this. We all know: 💖💖YOU CAN DO IT!!! 💖💖 Get a pad and paper, or white board, and plan out the stages of the project you can do on your own without help in one column. In the another column, put the things you need help/tools/resources and list them. That way, you can easily see which projects you can be chipping away at on your own, which projects need few resources that can be shared with others, and which ones you need extra humans/bigger tools/$$$ to complete. Get some OSB you can take up and down to temporarily plank floors as you need to. Do clean your stairs daily. Walking on them was the most hazardous activity in your house as there is nowhere to safely fall. 🤯 Save up for some basic, essential tools: powerful reversible drill, circular saw, levels, square/straight edge, screwdrivers, hammers, shop vacuum. Even if you are on your own, you can start mortaring the walls. Start at the bottom and work your way up. Using your temporary OSB sheathing, you can work your way around the beams you've put in. Every bit helps, and it all needs to be done eventually! Set yourself a manageable daily goal, such as 5 buckets of mortar/day. If it were me, I'd concentrate on the tea area. Clean it, mortar/plaster it, put up some cheap curtains and paint. If you have just one area complete where you can take a break it makes the entire project soooo much easier! I'd do the ground floor toilet plumbing, next, just so you have a decent flushing toilet and sink. Billy has a few (!!!) extras from the convent. A wonderful man I knew who worked as a gardener/workman on estates around WWI gave me excellent advice. 💥💥When you are working, always face the parts you've finished, not what needs to be done.💥💥 It is so encouraging to see what you can, and have, successfully accomplished. An "atta boy" with every glance! You have 80,000 people who know you can do this. Don't doubt yourself. Pick a random subscriber's name and pretend you are them for the day. Much easier than having to do it in your own body/brain. 😘🤣
Ryan. You do know what to do OR you could ask, watch UA-cam and more. Remember you have done things for a long time, you worked tearing apart 2 convent rooms, not finished, but you did work there. Nick has shown you and now Billy has shown you. CLEAN as you go. You will feel better starting with a clean place. Thanks Billy. 🎉🎉🎉
Ryan, this is your home. Start doing some of this on your own. You’re a bright fella. It’s ok to screw up, It’s part of life. I want to see you learn and overcome
Totally agree with Billy….best is to take charge and just get on with the renovation on your own….it is your house! I wouldn’t rely so much on others as it then could take a lot longer…good to get advice when needed, of course. Good to see it coming on!
Lovely to see both of you guys together. Nice to see Billy in a lighthearted mood but also, such a very wise man and has really good sound knowledge and advice, you’re lucky to have each other 😊
I haven’t watched much of The Petherecks lately and had no idea Billy had lost so much weight. I’m glad to see it because I was concerned. I know we aren’t supposed to comment on people’s weight, but it is significant.
Ryan it seems you only renivate when someone is with you. I agree with billy you have to do some of it on your own then ask for help on the bigger projects
Nothing like a great friend to hold you accountable and encourage you! It’s looking really good, but I can’t wait till you have at least one safe floor to walk on. Shivers.
Would love to watch you learn and grow whilst saving this home! These are skills which will increase and improve your self esteem and let’s face it, when you’re done it will be equally satisfying! Take it by the horns and just do it. You have a great team of friends who can advise you along the way.
You and Nick have done an awesome job of demolition and installation of new floor joists. You've done great work at Nicks place as well. It's good to see Billy P help you with the continuation of the floor joists as he and his help have been crackin' on at the convent with the installation of metal beams, floor joists and noggins.
If you don’t know how to do something Ryan- do what you know how to do. For instance sweeping and hauling off construction detritus. Nick may have been gracious about helping you clean up that mess but it was not the most productive use of his expertise and time. It’s like inviting a master chef over to cook a meal and expecting him to do all your dirty dishes first. Clean work site=safe work site. It may not be ‘your thing’ but it seems to be the thing of the people helping you! Love your videos please take this as constructive criticism we love ALL you guys and your channels and want nothing but the best for you and your project.
Why be so rude about Ryan? You dont think some things are set up for the video? Everyone works to suit themselves, and Ryan has done plenty of clearing up in the past, he does not need anyone nagging him about what he should and should not be doing.
@@janetpendlebury6808 I wasn’t being rude, I was being frank. He is a young whipper snapper new to this type of renovation and I wish the best for him. He is strong and capable, needs other people’s help and is subject to their schedules. Keeping on top of the construction mess is a safety issue as well and having Nick who didn’t mind, show up to that job site in the state it was in was not a set up for the camera.
Good job Billy. Your learning Ryan, so take a little bite of some of the advise, chew it well, wash it down with some good spring water, then apply what you can, when you can. Billy is right with his look it up on the net idea. Billy thank you for being such a good friend. Your caring friendship is what Ryan needs. So glad you recognize Ryan's short falls & help when & where you can. Reno is fun! For me it's expansion of skills & knowledge. Billy you are such a goose, peeking around Ryan, like a funny kid. ❤love it. ❤😊
Ryan, yes, cost is always a consideration but, seriously, those last joists in the top where you are wanting to install a floor to capture and make use of the space, just do it and replace these joists. It will give you a secure foundation for the floor you want to install and there won't be any regrets later that "we should have just done this right" all the way up. Anything worth doing is worth doing right.
My mother always told me that if I was facing a large project, just find a spot and start then the next thing you know you have done it all. That really does work with big projects. Don't look to far ahead. Look at the spot in front of you and work your way through. You'll get the hang of it.
My thoughts - feel free to disregard! I would place 1-2 cameras on tripods, let them film, and sweep up and get things ready for Billy to get on with it. And focus on what he's doing whilst you have him there, rather than filming angles, and him sweeping up. You'll never probably never have the house like that again, so I would replace the joists, make it super sturdy before laying the floors, and then going forward, you know you're sorted for years to come, as once everything is in - massive job to undo. Like I said - just my thoughts, feel free to disregard! ☺
Good friends like you guys is priceless. I love how you all support each other. I watch The Pethericks, Doing it Ourselves, Life Ryan, The Moons and Chateau Life. Plus Sadie of course. Crack on everyone xx
I'd like to apologise for taking longer than usual to post a new video. I'll make sure to post another one before the end of the month!

Its all experimental isn't it? Music is great, but so is chat.

Great advise from Billy. Take one thing at a time! The whole project is daunting!
Coming along nicely. Maybe not a "big job" but seems a critical job. Looking good. Hoping the best for your project. ♥️👍

A clean site is a safe site. Plus when working at height have the correct equipment and do not overstretch.
I second Billy's advise to take large tasks and turn them into little jobs and in no time, its done. Life lesson
Ryan, you are a bright young man and we all believe in you and we know you can do this.

Great to see best friends working together again. X
You’re right Billy! All that garbage is an accident waiting to happen. It’s easier to see your progress if you tidy at the end of the day.
Good friends like you guys is priceless. I love how you all support each other. I watch The Pethericks, Doing it Ourselves, Life Ryan, The Moons and Chateau Life. Plus Sadie of course. Crack on everyone xx
It's such a wonderful thing to have friends like you have, Billy did a great job today and I look forward to what you two do next xxx
Always nice to see you and Billy together
