- If your JVC TV has a black screen with sound or sound but no picture, then you can diagnose the cause, and find out how to fix it, using this video.
In 60% of cases, you have a backlight failure, but sometimes the cause can be with the internal components, or even something as simple as a software glitch.

What do I do if my tv doesn’t have physical power buttons
Mines a backlight issue but they cost £140💀
Im tempted to just fix it myself i mean its already broken csnt get any more broken then that
Hi, i have jvc LT 32C690 A the tv turns on fine then the picture and sound work then at random times it goes to a black screen and doing a flash light test I can only see a picture visible faintly in the center all other parts of the tv is black. HELP.
JVC RM3250 plays youtube fine, any other - digital TV, netflix or prime. Interface is fine - go to play a video and get bright banded image but do get sound. Any ideas?
Mine comes on, stays on for a seemingly random amount of time (between 15 seconds and 1 hour ish) and then goes black. Not power cycle, not multiplug, not wallsocket, not the lead either. Any ideas? Thanks for video
just wondering if it could be a software thing before opening up the TV
Started doing it about a week ago, but is now so frequent that it is unusable.
I would think that it's either a software issue, or an overheating component.
Does any part of the TV's case get unusually hot when it switches off?
Thanks for an interesting video. We have a JVC LT32C461 with screen that just went completely black. A few weeks ago it starter to flicker in the upper right part of the screen for about 10 seconds each time it was switched on, but this week just failed completely with sound but no picture. Used the technique of shining flashlight to prove that it is a backlight failure (image visible with flashlight), but interestingly, removing the back reveals a single circuit board in this model (not three as shown in this video). Checking with multimeter reveals that some LEDs work and some don't, but as they are wired in series, I assume that a single bad LED will stop all from working. The drive to the backlight from the single PCB also seems to have no voltage, so not sure yet if it's just the LED backlight strips that have failed or the main board, or both. Will replace LED backlight strips first and then look at the PCB if it still doesn't work. The good LEDs show a forward volt-drop of about 2.5V, so as there are three strips of ten, all wired in series, then the main board needs to provide a voltage of 2.5 x 10 x 3 =75V, which seems higher than I would have thought ?
It turned out to be just the LED strips that were bad .. replaced all and everythibg is good again. Thanks again !
Where is the physical power button?
The tv button
Thank you it's working now
I just pulled out the plug from the wall and waited 60sec...thanks
