Thanks Adrian, as it's been a long time since doing this type of work I did find it hard work and the cold weather did not help, that's one big job out of the way but still lots to do.
@@RobsSierraCosworth ,I have a load of work to do in my own car its a project but I don't fancy shivering out their in the cold at the moment. its taken me 3 years to source all the parts I need to get on with it just a 2007 vauxhall astra 5 door with 76,000 miles from new just changed the cloth seats to leather from a astra elite.Nothing ever seams to be straight forward by doing a simple seats swop I have a airbag light on the dash now ,I think its because the leather seats are heated and my old cloth seats were not its probably to do with the plugs under both front seats . In the 3 years of sourcing parts have genuine irmsher front bumper and irmsher rear spoiler and side skirts and I have refurbished sri wheels that look brand new .It was just the one seat (drivers) i had to take to the upholstery shop they fitted a new bottom seat pan and replaced the drivers bolster with a new strip of leather as for the rest of the seats they were in brilliant condition already. The finished look will be similar to the astra sri ,All the bumpers and bodykit are different colours at the moment its about £1500 to have it all sprayed the same colour taken a while to source all these rare parts but finally Its all down to the paint shop now
@@adrianricketts8884 Nice one Adrian, I had a few Vauxhall Astra's all back in the 1990s, my wife had 2 and I had an estate puls 3 or 4 work vans , I hound them all good to drive.
@@RobsSierraCosworth Cheers Rob ,I agree the vauxhall has never let me down its only needed a replacement coolant rubber pipe that I did myself the previous owner was disabled and had free service work done on it .I could see the potential in this car as theirs not one rattle anywhere .The previous owner did scrape the passenger and rear door but I just went to sw vauxhall swindon and sourced the same colour doors from a 2010 model and just hit the pins out the old doors and put these on the colour shade is ever so slightly out but with a bit of weathering it should blend in ok.I will have to go to a auto electrician as I will need multiple jobs done on this car like the astra interior light that I have is basic so I have one from a vxr but the wiring is diffrent the bumper I want to put on has foglights where as the original one doesn't so a separate switch will need to be fitted to operate those. Those plugs under the seats are diffrent thats why the airbag light is on the dash .As long as its done before the MOT shouldn't cause a problem in the meantime .I sourced all the vxr dashboard trim and instrument panels so I need the auto electrician to get the heated seat buttons working and wired up properly .Its had a new luk clutch last year and 2 bottom arms and the coolant pipe ,I have a gates cambelt kit with new water pump in a box to do but its cold out their at the moment I will plod on and get it done bit by bit .I can imagine it will look pretty good when its all done I will put the bumpers side skirts on myself .Once I get a torque bar from halfords I will do the cambelt and waterpump myself need the torque bar for the pulley wheel.I put a pumkin radio in it so will need to buy the reverse camera separately to get the auto electrician to wire that up .I can watch dvd films and dab radio its a smart peace of kit the head unit.Im going to try and get it done for the summer quite a lot of electrical upgrades need doing but I will get their .Look forward to seeing more of your videos hopefully soon.
