Great video with good progress. Took me a while to catch up to watch but got there. The tractor is looking brilliant. Hats off to you doing a resto like this outdoors.

Thanks Carl 😊, I'm certainly getting there now & aye it would be lovely to have some space to work indoors on the Dexta but it's all taken up with machines at the moment so outside will have to do for now 😅

@@Adventure_Van_Upgrades I get it. A mate of mine, Mat Look from lookcreations has restored a series land rover, basically outdoors, under a car port type thing. There is also a very talented lass called Land Rover Sophie who has done several restos outside. Needs must. Sadly I don't have room to do any bigger resto projects except that in my shop. Best wishes to you.

I've owned and restored a few of these, the last one I restored I kept for 12 years and used daily on the farm too, a real tidy little machine around a yard they are, you can zip in and out of tight sheds clearing muck off of floors ECT with ease. I'd even say they are better for some jobs than a 35. Two things let them down though in my opinion, 1 being the crappy steering box design, I've attempted to tighten up a few over the years fitting new bearings ECT, but I've often wondered if the outer housing was bored bigger inside and the depth increased if two bearings could be fitted? The other fault which I sorted on my tractor is the gear selectors. They were machined a bit short, when a gear is selected you have a gap open up between the selectors, that's ok until the tip of the gear stick becomes worn, together with the outer corners of the selectors themselves, then you end up with your gear stick coming out between that gap I mentioned and stuck in whatever gear was selected. I solved it on mine by welding a piece of 10 mm flat either side of each selector and grinding to size, it eliminates any gap between the selectors when a gear is selected, so your gear stick can't come out of mesh. Ferguson left shoulders on their selectors to prevent the same problem, of course a picture is worth a thousand words as they say, hope you can understand what I'm on about, cheers,👍

Thanks for your advice on the old girl , I have already got my hands on a replacement set of shift leavers so when I get the chance to install them I will certainly be checking for any excessive play at the tips. I have just rebuilt the steering column and managed to get it pretty tight for the moment although time will tell if it holds up.
I'm looking forward to getting her fired up in the next video and hopefully getting out for a road test.

@@Adventure_Van_Upgrades your welcome,👍 I saw a new kit available a couple of years ago which includes the worm as well as the nut and bearing, I'm sure that would improve things a lot. Not sure where I saw it though, could be Dunlop tractor parts in northern Ireland although not 100%
