I love agave! I use it to sweeten individual glasses of tea, hot or cold. Oatmeal, yogurt baking…the flavor is more mild than honey so it’s perfect for sweetening anything!

I love Costco. I don't go very often because it seems to add up real quick. There is always something there that I want LOL. Some of my fav items to buy from there are the rotisserie chickens, croissants, cheese tortellini, toilet paper, seasoned ribs, canned veggies, seasonings, olive oil. I'm sure there are way more but I can't think of them. I find Costco really helpful for the major things that you need to buy in bulk that you can either freeze or has a long shelf life. Those ravioli's are so cute I will be going to pick some up. I'm pretty sure you can freeze them I always freeze the tortellini and they turn out fine. 🙂

We always buy the large boxes of fresh organic spinach from Costco. The price is unmatched and we use a LOT of spinach at our house. Also love the Kirkland sparkling water cans and the cauliflower crust pizza!

We live in New York City and shop Costco just north of NYC. In addition to our usual staples and whatever catches my eye, we buy Costco made items. Their muffins are amazing and we often get two packs for the price of one. They make a delicious chicken pot pie. It is huge so we end up freezing at least half of it. A Costco birthday cake will feed a large crowd and, at least in NYC, is much cheaper than a bakery. They will decorate it for you also. The chicken street tacos and gyros are also very good. You just have to put them together. Their ready-made meals are well priced when you consider that each meal is really several meals.

Costco must haves for last minute/convenience meals: the fully cooked chicken skewers, the chicken flautas, the yakisoba chicken teriyaki stir fry.

My go to Costco items are the ciabatta breads (keep them in fridge or freezer bc they mold quickly), the croissants, organic eggs, organic milk 3 pack (lasts forever), their fresh cheese tortellini (maybe they were out when you were there) bag of broccoli, 3 pack organic ground beef, Parmesan cheese, Dave’s killer bread, Rao’s pasta sauce (I stock up when it’s on sale), toilet paper, trash bags, apple sauce pouches for kids, big block of sharp cheddar cheese, and anything that’s on sale. Sale prices are always really good. Kid’s pajamas are also great quality and price.

If you have a vacuum sealer, use it for your cheese slices! I get those huge packs but once I open the pack it goes bad faster than expected. The pkg has two stacks in it. Just vacuum seal each stack and even if you freeze it, it thaws out way better than just freezing in a ziploc freezer bag. The agave is good for hot/cold drinks but I used it more for baking in place of honey.

4:04 yeah, that would be the pronunciation. It's like a vegan honey or like corn syrup, it is a sweetener, it's taken from the heart of the agave plant, which is the plant the tequila is extracted from. Don't worry, it has no alcohol in it, it's kid friendly 😊.
7:17 that bread is kind of expensive here in Mexico. I personally don't like white bread, any kind, because it sticks on the back of the teeth and I hate that, but it's a popular soft bread. If you guys like white bread, I would bet you are going to like it

Our Costco staples are top sirloin steaks (about $5/lb today), bags of potatoes, onions and garkic, honeycrisp or gala apples, pineapple, spinach, salad mixes, bagged whole carrots, bagels, the 5 doz egg boxes, Ritz crackers, the 3 1/2 gallon milk in cartons (lasts really well without souring), Kirkland butter, the Mexican shredded cheese, their Pacific Bold K cups (coffee), canned goods (when priced competitively).
The key to Costco is knowing the comparable prices by unit at grocery stores you frequent, restaurant supply stores and so forth. There are some supplies I will only buy at Costco such as TP, garbage bags and paper towels (all Kirkland brand).
Have had a Costco membership since 2004, be sure to always check car rental prices through their travel site (always competitive). Their tire service/pricing is great, too.
@kristinstepp love your channel! Givrs me great inspo for packing my work lunches and snacks!

Not having a list when entering a Costco is a sure ticket to a $400 tab! ;-) It's such a great store, though... They curate some of the coolest products (not just food!) in that store.

For the croissants, slice them in half and then freeze them. It’s just my husband and myself and we get them and the muffins fairly often and they both freeze well. Cutting them makes it easier to thaw or to toast them up in the toaster. My husband always warms his muffins up in the oven for 15-20 minutes in the morning while making coffee.

New Costco member here. We don’t live too close either so we take a cooler with us for frozens. Also when we buy bulk spices we reuse our leftover small spice containers. I’m sure you will fill up your pioneer woman spice jars but just sharing a way to reuse containers. Just trying to be a little green and I just hate throwing away the glass spice jars 😂

They have good cooked rotisserie chicken and I think the frozen department has a good variety. We use the gas there a lot which would not be easy for you of course. I do like the meat selection also

Get a bread machine!! I got one for Valentine's day and have made 6 loaves already, two as gifts. My biggest apprehensions for starting to make my own bread is the time, kneading, how long to let it rise, etc etc. You just put all the stuff in the bread machine and it handles it. So worth it!! My wrists are saved and all the thinking is taken out of the equation.

Agreed! I love the KitchenArm machine (runs about $110-$120 on Amazon). A 25 lb bag of AP flour at Costco costs $8.49, plan on another $4-6 for a jar of yeast (regular grocery store for that one). The only other ingredients needed for a 1.5 lb loaf of express white bread are a top of salt and 2 T of olive oil. Saves so much money!! Bread prices have gone way up!

My family gets broccoli every time we go….mostly roasting in (garlic salt, little extra regular salt, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and minced onion)
Also get the brussel sprouts there.
Crescent rolls only when fil is here…hard to get through them all before stale.
    Ranch dressing we buy there
    Cerave cream
    Mrs Meyers cleaner
Bona floor cleaner if they have
    Disposable coffee cups
    Garbage bags
    Zip locs
    Eggs
    Milk
    Basmati rice
    Sour cream
Triple zero yogurt (mix in chocolate chips….Chobani zero sugar yogurt is nasty so don’t buy that…even my kids refused to eat that)
Their apples are also delicious, though not always cheap
We also tend to the buy corn on the cob BUT you must use it up within a couple of days or it goes bad quickly
Love shopping at Costco but so very easy to overspend
Pizza rolls I would but if it were cheese, but sadly they are always pepperoni. The small boxes use to go on sale for $1 each….now minimum of $2 each but such sale is rare.
Must stop at food court after for a slice of pizza and refillable soda
2 things I will not buy at Costco:
-tortillas (bcs they always stick together and then tear….my sister randomly complained about that also so not just me)
-mozzarella cheese, use to be fine but last time I bought it the cheese would not melt well
