I bought this same model and I love it. It’s way better than my previous Peugeot 208. The hybrid part is better than I expected as well. I’m very happy with it.
Points that I like 1. You can disable keyless entry via the infotainment system. (Helps prevent keyless relay theft) 2. The oil dipstick is easy to read 3. Engine is naturally aspirated, no turbo lag and the electric motors assist acceleration really well 4. Fuel injection is port injection not direct, therefore no carbon build up on the intake valves and performance issues over time 5. Automatic gearbox is a clutchless design, less maintenance (i.e. no clutch replacement ) 6. Disc brakes all round, easier to replace over drums if you are into DIY 7. Sport mode livens up steering and acceleration response 8. Comfort, road noise levels and cabin quality. Points I do not like 1. You cant view the exact tyre pressures on the dash / infotainment, only see green / yellow / red status 2. There is an additional coolant reservoir for the electric motors, something else to keep an eye on 3. No heated front windscreen, icy weather means scrapping and using de-icer 4. Door mirrors are not heated 5. Infotainment system is not the most responsive 6. UK model does not come with 360 cameras and park assist 7. Cost 8. Order delivery times, some franchised dealers quoting up to 6 months, whereas Renault Retail may get you one in less than a month. And Shadow Grey is the best colour to order 🙂
The door mirrors are heated, they heat up when turning on the rear window heater. Atleast on my pre-facelift 2023 Clio. Also the heated front windscreen is barely seen in the B-segment if even.
The gear box is a dog gear box used in formula 1😮🫡 Same as used the the engineered renault captur 😮 Cracking gear box uses a electronic device on it that allows split second on the gear cogs to allow them drop in as you say no clutch better than them crap toyota ctv belt drive gear boxes 😮😅
I don’t like the fact it has no manual flappy paddle option. People say they don’t use it, well I would do and I want that option! This alone rules out the Renault Clio for me. Shame really because I quite like it and would probably have considered one.
I’ve had my Clio for just over 2 years. It’s been a great car. Fully intend to get this new model at the end of the year. One of the main reasons I chose this car IS the design of the rear doors and the hidden handles. In my opinion it makes the car more attractive and almost coupe like. Always thought 3 door cars look good. Very sad I think that there is now almost a total absence of 3 door options on the market. That’s the main reason I’ll stick with the Clio (for now!).
Was never a Clio fan but this and the previous generation I really like. Wouldn’t say it’s a small car anymore but everything above it have increased in size also.

They will bring out a small electric car instead as they haven’t got one in their line up and it makes more sense to invest in that than a new petrol car platform, maybe a link up with vw again maybe the vw2 platform
Quietly stylish car, a good option if you're getting bored with brash Peugeots. Some interesting technology too on the hybrid with its "dog box," and no worries about where to charge it. I'd consider it next time I throw money away on a car😂
How can you get bored with the Pwugeot's when the 208 is much more fun car when it comes to both design and tech then the Clio? Clio is littterally the most boring B segment car after Fabia and Polo.
In other markets this is the new Mitsubishi Colt. The Renault Captur is the new Mitsubishi ASX. Mitsubishi are out of the UK though so the closest relatives are the Nissan Micra and Nissan Juke for those looking for something the same but different. Think the Dacia Sandero and Dacia Duster are the other relations
In my country, Belgium, Renault isn't exactly cheap or affordable. None of the European car brands are actually. Yes you can get an ultra basic Citroen C3 with an interesting starting price but that one is almost more basic than a Dacia Sandero but with a higher price than the latter. None of the German cars have offerings that you could call affordable, not even the fake German brands like Ford and Opel. You have to either opt for Dacia or to the brands who still offer ulta compact cars such as Toyota with the Aygo X, Hyundai with the i10, it's twin the Kia Picanto or some Suzuki compact models (although they are more expensive but offer massive discounts on a regular basis which is kind of silly). But even these cars aren't really affordable when you know that their prices more than doubled compared to 5 to 6 years ago (and please don't give the bullshit about inflation and parts shortages). This means that what is called "affordable" is in fact what would have cost you for a well equipped small family car a few years ago. In my book it's called "stealing, ripping off, scamming people...
No bull-shitting here, I am with you. It's a sad state of affairs. The rise of the PCP has made a huge contribution as people are only interested in the monthly figure and not the over all cost.
You can get a sofa, a bedroom lamp, even a toaster with built in usb points. But it seems overlooked on so many 4/ 5 seater cars. Its not rocket science is it, manufactures count the number of sestbelts in your car at design stage and add the same amount of usb chargers.
I am surprised they aren't popular on British roads. I see them everywhere here in northern Croatia, especially in orange. IMO they overtook Fiesta and Corsa here. We looked at one but ultimately decided to go with a used kia (which is also hugely popular). I like the way these look and I think Renault has an opening to come out with a spicy version that replaces Fiesta ST given that they screwed up the last gen spicy one and Fiesta is going extinct.
They are popular in Croatia se they build them litterallu 100km away from Croatia (in Slovenia) Hence why you get them cheap and competitively priced = they sell well. Simple as that
I'd say Dacias are better selling than Renaults in the Uk now. Cost of living here has hit many and a lot are downgrading to Renaults budget offerings.
There is a mild-hybrid, which usually has a very small electric battery which just compliments the engine, a strong/Full hybrid which will run for short distances in EV and only and then a flu-in hybrid which can run for long distances in full EV.
I have ordered the Renault alpine Clio , had a corsa f and found it awful on comparison. The Vauxhall brand have had a new facelift and made the corsa f lacking the sporty look inside for the price of the Clio same as the Toyota Yaris in which I test drove and the Clio has more reliability on road handling and acceleration from both competitors. The corsa f and Yaris left me wanting more from sporty look, feel and more importantly the drive. The new clio left them standing. So ordered one and don’t regret !
Nice car with promise ✅. The US made a mistake dissing all their cars (with the exception of Cadillac). Chevy should've at least kept the Cruze Hatchback & similar to Ford with the Escort. I still don't get Mitsubishi making such dreadfully small & cheap economy cars, it makes no sense. They should've revived the Starion Turbo sports coupe in a version similar looking to the 80s version. I'm glad Cadillac continues selling CT4 & CT5 Sedans in the States.
