    What would happen if I did this without also derestricting the ECU?

    • @Alakay77
      @Alakay77 3 роки тому +18

      I'm not an expert at all, but the ECU settings when restricted cause less fuel to reach the cylinder. If you were to change the air intake without changing the ECU, the air to fuel ratio would be off and your bike would either run poorly or not run at all. If it does run you would risk damaging the engine.

      Even derestricted this bike is down 20-30bhp on the old CBR600rr.
      I suppose this is returning to the roots of the original - a comfy sports bike for the road, rather than a more track focused machine. 80-90bhp is ok but not great. Honda were obviously considering their European market and that the old 600cc sports bike class is almost finished. The CBR600RR was never updated to pass Euro4 emissions. Now Euro5 is coming in so the R6 and Ninja636 (last remaining focused 600s) be finished aswell.
      While tighter emissions regulations have led to better and more powerful 1000cc bikes... I can't forgive them for killing the 600cc category.

      The key code is not in the ignition barrell. The barrelly has an "antena" on the bottom of it to recieve the key code from the KEY. Not sure where those people get this rubbish from to be honest. The key is coded to the ECU, if the ECU is damaged and has to be replaced then new keys are required, which are then coded to the new ECU. We are not replacing the ECU, we modify and adjusting the TUNE FILE to suit the derestriction and exhaust/filter mods etc. Therefore there is no such issue with key coding what so ever.

    Do the longer snorkels give more mid-range torque compared to the shorter snorkels? I'm having a hard time getting the short snorkels so the shop is suggesting just modifying the longer ones. How much difference to peak power will it make and will I get more mid-range torque if I stick with the longer ones or are the short ones just better throughout the whole rev range?
