    my favorite foods are my fruitopia, non-alcoholic mint julep, etc. drink recipes that I made up. Can sunlight count as a favorite food source? I would say it's one of my fav's lol. Others are what I forage - like pineapple chamomile, minneola, large cream guava, etc.

      That's right.
      My usual copypasta:
      What's the optimal diet for us?
      A nutritarian, fiber-rich/plant-diverse, anti-inflammatory/antioxidant-rich, flavanoid-rich whole-food plant based diet. Wholesome foods in sensible combinations.
      Everyone should follow Dr Greger’s _Daily Dozen_ and Dr Will Bulsiewicz’s _Fiber Fueled_ and Dr. Joel Furman’s _Nutritarianism_ advice. I challenge you and everyone else to see how much vigor and vitality you'll have (after a gradual transition to ease into a higher fiber intake).
      Insall the _Daily Dozen_ app, and see my playlist on it:

      Vegetarian is a diet and it's not very ethical or even healthy. It might be healthier than a standard American diet if it's done a certain way but it's not likely buy simple default. This is because diets have a very high failure rate. Vegan is not a diet it is a philosophy and when you understand that and embrace it you find a way to make the food work within the tens of if not hundreds of thousands of edible plants you can tailor your diet to your individualized needs without having to exploit animals for their body parts, organs, and secretions.

      @@VeganLinkedare you sure about vegetarianism being a diet? tell me more, i’m interested. i find vegetarianism is way better than eating meat, and vegan is better than being vegetarian. vegetarian still supports the milk& egg industry which are both very bad, but at least they don’t eat animals (as in buying a whole animal from the shop every week). some people try to exclude animals from their diet and use vegetarianism as an in between step to veganism. i think we shouldn’t use this black and white thinking. veganism is only a philosophy when a person wants to practise it and when it isn’t “the only good option” im vegan btw

    Listening to a lot of these vegans describe what they eat, it is clear why we get videos showing how unhealthy vegans can be. I am a vegetarian myself and transitioning to vegan. Many of these people have completely missed the point. Just because you aren't eating animal products anymore, doesn't mean anything and everything else is okay. Canned veggies, meat substitutes, sugar in everything- the body isn't getting nourishment and it'll start breaking down. WHOLE, NATURAL, PLANT BASED FOODS - UN PROCESSED, UNCANNED, UN ALTERED, CLEAN, FRESH WHOLE FOODS.

    • @VeganLinked
      @VeganLinked  2 роки тому +2

      I agree it is important to emphasize whole plant foods. And I think most of these people do, didn't you see that? Did you think these vegans aren't unhealthy. I mean, some of the ones that haven't been as long appear to be more likely to not eat as simply. Some people just don't care about eating healthy though.

    I subscribe to your channel and usually like all of your videos. Not that you're looking for opinions, but I just want to say this one started a little too slow and boring for me. I didn't particularly care for what she was saying cuz it seems it would turn off most people who are considering veganism. Personally I think you should have started with Dr. Milton Mills. Anyway just my two cents - keep up the good work!

      Thanks for subscribing watching and commenting! I kind of did this video in a rush for a variety of reasons... Future videos hopefully will be better eventually.
      I know what you mean though, it's great when a video can start off with something that pops. I liked starting off with Rae because she is a great example of a healthy long term vegan who eats properly and looks like she does. A lot of people really like Rae too so I figured she would be a good one to start with...
      I love Milton but a lot of people give him a hard time so but I felt like it would just be better to keep him at the end. He also had tears on the left side of his face because he was emotional before the part about food, so I had to cover that up with photos of food...

      @@GlennMarshallnz I hear you and agree we'll all be healthier when we're closer to eating whole foods and simple one ingredient foods. But I'm an activist and I'm trying to help promote veganism, promote animal welfare, make people aware of what they're eating (dead tortured animals) and show them that it's easy to transition. Most people out there aren't going to go from there aren't going to go from their big juicy steak or their bacon over to a Peach lol.

      @@HOLAThriftnReuse some of my videos have music. And I've had people say no music please lol. I did think about putting music to the intro of these but I just don't think it's necessary for these particular kinds of videos. I did rewatch it a little bit here today and I definitely could have cut it up better. It's like I could have split race part in 2 and put half of it somewhere else for example. But as an editor that tends to be the case with most things. Like I can always rewatch a video and think of more ways to edit it infinitely.
      I really was in a rush though because I gotta keep this going. I do all this alone. I don't make any money shooting and editing and all this is extremely time consuming, labor intensive, expensive and taxing on me in a lot of ways. But it's something I'm going to do until I no longer can. Nonetheless thede videos will get better. I was in a rush because I needed to get it done and off my list of things to do so I can move full throttle on to the next projects. Right now I am out of town and have been since last Thursday shooting Dr Joel Fuhrman, 14 hours of video!!! I got some great content for this channel but it's presentations. And I'm excited to get back to shooting more stories. I already have a handful of new stories almost done for the next series. It's it's a lot of traveling just to do one story and shooting on editing.... for example a couple of weeks ago I drove 20 hours in one weekend just to shoot two 1 hour or interviews... Plus I have to lineup more interviews and deal with comments pretty much everyday. Then I gotta go make money here and there somehow so I can keep doing this lol. And every now and then I just have to stop for about a week and do nothing because it gets depressing and draining doing all this alone. But I promise they will get better, eventually. I may do this concept again in a better way and release a better version. If you look at my older videos like from a few years ago you can see they are already better. Plus I have people pulling me in other directions. And there is a really epic documentary I want to do for this channel, more on that later. And I'm kind of just testing things and still trying to figure some things out... so much and so little time. Last year I invested in buying a house near Dr Garth Davis in Asheville, NC an hour and a half from me so I could fix it up rent it out and put a building there and turned it into a studio so I could video him regularly. We did 5 videos and then he moved to Texas foiling the whole thing so there's always something getting in the way of progress it seems. Not to mention someone trying to sue me over a video a couple years ago, or the time that I spent almost a year helping someone do a documentary only to have them hold it hostage on Amazon prime... And of course covid really messed things up. March 2020 I had all kinds of plant based doctors in the mix that I was going to video in proximity for the first time after building momentum the previous years and COVID destroyed that... I'm doing all I can giving my all to the movement. ❤ I really do appreciate your feedback though!

      @@VeganLinked You are doing a great job, Jeff!! Have you thought of doing what Jill Dalton does, with the Whole Food Plant Based Cooking Show (she's in Cary, NC)? She started on UA-cam in 2015, she called her show the Nutritarian Cooking Show at first, but got in trouble with Dr. Fuhrman about that, lol, I know you just filmed him, coincidentally. She now has people pay her monthly, she has different tiers...I think she gets a couple thousand dollars from that a month, maybe more, based on my quick count of the names of the people who pay, that she was flashing on the screen...I think she stopped putting the names up now bc there are too many to fit. If you did that, maybe you could pay yourself and/or pay someone to help you with filming and editing? Here's one of her videos from a week ago ua-cam.com/video/-miQItldpB8/v-deo.html At about 9 minutes in is her 'plug,' asking for sponsors for her show, if you did this, you could ask the same thing, during all your videos...she just inserts the same clip into every video. Here's her page about her Sponsorship and it includes a video about it on there as well community.plantbasedcookingshow.com/membership. Maybe your son could help, but I'm sure you've thought of that before. Maybe you could put a request for help up in the Charlotte Animal Activists FB group? Thanks for all the hard work, Jeff!

    Does vegans take supplements and what if what kind of supplements

    • @VeganLinked
      @VeganLinked  2 роки тому +1

      Generally speaking B12 is the main one which comes from bacteria. Depending on your lifestyle and goals you may want to supplement other things as well. Dr Fuhrman seems to be a trustworthy source. I've heard good things from the brand Complement also.
      Here is a source I trust: nutritionfacts.org/topics/supplements/

    • @Duh331
      @Duh331 2 роки тому

      I do not, but B12 will be checked with January doctor visit.

    • @extropiantranshuman
      @extropiantranshuman 3 місяці тому +1

      @@VeganLinked you don't need supplements if you get it with food. Plenty of vegan foods naturally have b12 in it - like e3 live (that one has a whole lot of b12 - in case anyone argues that 'vegan foods are very low if it has any') and barley grass powder, not to mention seabuckthorn and duckweed. I wrote the whole list on my website.

    • @VeganLinked
      @VeganLinked  3 місяці тому

      @@extropiantranshuman Yes, but the most consistent and reliable source of B12 would be from a supplement. That's the most predictable and safest to recommend. It's really not a big deal to supplement. I don't see why it would matter if you get it from a supplement versus fortified versus cross-contamination versus potentially from some other source like potentially pulled into a plant, it's all synthesized by bacteria. So may as well get it from the most reliable source, a supplement. That's just my perspective on b12.

    • @extropiantranshuman
      @extropiantranshuman 3 місяці тому

      @@VeganLinked you'd be surprised - but b12 supplements degrade over time. So they are not the most consistent. Food is going to be fresher - because you're eating it more. If you get a whole bottle of b12 - by the time it's at the bottom - the amount of b12 is marginal compared to the beginning. It also depends on the type of b12 too, not to mention the fact that not everyone is going to need to take b12 - so if they keep taking it for nothing - why recommend it?
      Did you know you don't even have to eat b12 to receive it? You can just be handling soil and it soaks through one's skin.
      Well this is my perspective - at least we placed here both - for all to see and compare.
      And yes - source matters. B12 is water soluble - if you're consuming it from cooked foods - it might not uptake due to cooking out the water. Not to mention - certain forms of cooking degrade b12 (I believe google says microwaving's bad for b12).
      So there's a lot that needs to be considered that seems overlooked.
