I love that you talk about not changing things around too much, some people don't realise that. That's why when I do a new cage theme I try to keep the layout the same and only swop a hide for a hide or a tunnel for a tunnel but keep them in the same place. Also, my cages are set up in a way that I can clean in 2 or 3 sections over a period of time, this is partly due to my illness and limited energy but also it's way less stressful on the hamster so 1 night I might clean out the big multi chamber hide, leave a few days and then clean up the top area of the cage but leaving any wheel cleaning for another time. Over the years I have learnt that this can really help the hamster not be so stressed.

I have a question: how do you clean wheels with cork in them? My hamster peed on his wood and cork wheel a little bit and I want to know how to clean the cork strip. If you don’t know how, that’s fine. I also need to show this to my mom she doesn’t beleive me when I say ‘spot clean’ and not ‘dump everything out and replace fully’ 😂. You could use the 50/50 white vinager and water and just gently pat it on so you don't destroy the cork, but generally cork does need replacing if it's been peed on too much. Maybe a layer of a tub of plastikote would work on cork? It works well on wood to make it waterproof!

Where do you get your sprays from?
Also, you can give your hamster a coconut substrate, mine goes crazy for it.

For a second hand cage that looks like it could use some cleaning, do you also recommend the white vinegar and water combination? Or do you think just hot water is better?

So helpful as always ❤ my syrian female sleeps in a different burrow nearly every night lol so can make it hard to find where she's peed.., I usually put my hand in with a nappy sack at the warm bit where she's bn sleeping n lift out the surface bedding, it seems to work.., other than that, when she comes to me for some bonding time, she often pees on my hand or arm 😮😂🐹

We’ve had our russian dwarf week, we use the care fresh natural bedding. I’m struggling to find her pee spots as went to spot clean earlier. Do you have any tips?
If you can't see any in her nest, sand bath or any corners, I'm not sure! As you've only had her for a week, she may not have picked a specific place to go yet

hi! a quick question how do you see spoil bedding on spruce bedding? its my first time using it and im getting my hammy in the next few days so im not sure how to see it since the pee is yellow like the bedding , i used to use paper bedding but i just wanting to try witb my new hammy !! :)

Hi! So my hamster started burrowing and when i lift the main platform her burrows are nicely exposed. But the thing is I cannot find the place where she pees. I tried smelling and everything but still. Anyone have any suggestions?

My hamster pee in his House...there are 3 rooms, first bathroom, second bedroom and last for food. But when I clean Up last time I found mold...😢 I dont know why...
Have you given him any fresh food? I suggest cutting up veggies into small pieces so they dry up rather than growing mould 🐹
