Watching Martina painting is like watching Bob Ross. You think it's perfect and then she overpaints everything and you wanna shake her but in the end it's always even better than before. Love/hate this rollercoaster of emotions while watching. :D
I spent my honeymoon in Norway this year and I fell so much in love with this country! Your videos, especially the ones like this one where you see so much of the breathtaking landscape, make me want to travel to Norway right away. Your artwork is just as breathtaking and I wish I had just a spark of your talent, Martina, you are a true inspiration yourself. please keep up the good work, I love your channel so much! best regards from Germany
One of the things I respect most about Martina is her work ethic. She works so hard on these projects and puts everything into each one. Never satisfied till they are exactly what she wants. It’s really awesome to see her consistently creating such a vast array of art and projects
The true difference between an artist and a viewer of art... Every single time Martina showed us the 'in-progress' painting, I was like "Damn, that's a gorgeous finished painting you have there". But that is also a sick final result too. Incredible work, and a gorgeous little tour across nature for us to boot.
The neat thing about this painting is that if you look at each place and its color pallette and mood, it actually changes your painting (which I believe was the point of this). The first place had this golden sunset and amber vibe and then as you transitioned to each place, that cabins mood and color were added to the painting. Creating a sort of collage effect.
I'm glad you wrote this; it was such a visual change when the painting was updated from cabin one to cabin two that the vibe she talked about became the theme for the painter's art. A collage of vibes as you say.
As a Canadian, I can certainly appreciate the first fire in a newly opened winter shelter. Like, you are SO glad to have arrived, you just wanna hang out, but you CAN'T hang out until that fire's roarin'.... So there's a real anticipation there!
No way! Another wild Canadian, how ya doing bud? How's your weather cause it's getting chillier up here in the Kootenays. My family just got two big loads of wood to top up for the winter.
I'm so glad that you're taking breaks from huge mega-projects to do some good old-fashioned traveling & painting. Happy you're getting back to your roots from time to time.
Gotta say the explosion on the last toilet when she was "blowing it up" with the royal family was some high brow humor, top notch wit. Honestly this vid had everything you could want, off grid living, artistic method, quick wit and humor, Nori swimming. So good.
Norway has got to be one of the most beautiful countries in the world with it's landscape of amazing Fjords with mountains just made me think if any vikings had been there. That last cabin tree house was soo cool that I could absolutely live there, also the fog off the water was creepy that if the monster you painted rose up from the lake like Jörmungandr wouldn't surprise me.
This is absolutely my favourite kind of videos from you guys, these kinda vids with the staying in the nature for a long period always make me feel so happy, keep it up guys!
Unrelated to this video, but I’ve just ordered your new hoodie and I wanted to say how nice it is to see a sustainable clothes store. It’s really appreciated that you went with them - I love the idea of planting a tree by buying a hoody! Thanks!
Nori’s independence and willingness to just go off on their own adventure is honestly kinda cool. The final result was so cool in this one, so much nice detail in the painting
Just pre-ordered my ghost hoodie! I just want to say I love your annual tradition of the limited release merch. I know I wouldn't take advantage of a lot of the patreon perks but I still want to support you guys, and buying an awesome sweatshirt every year is a great way for me to kick you some money and also rep your channel when I'm out in the world (I always get comments on the cryptic and skjera bagera hoodies). I love watching you guys no matter what you're doing, thanks for making art in all kinds of ways and sharing it with us. ❤
I don't usually comment, but man. This ep is just wow. The best painting by far, the best trip, the best views and taken frames, the best experience and literally the best everything. You r one hell of a character I would watch you jump up and down through the screen like you do forever. I mean I never seen a female as funny as you. The best video so far. Hands down.
I‘m so fricking happy that I found your channel! It’s been so great to watch your projects because your not only amazingly creative and very skilled, but also very funny! Please, never stop making arts and crafts, you always improve my and many others mood when watching
HOLY COW! the improvement is actually blowing my mind, I LOVE how it's so different from your other paintings but still has that signature Martina flair! The details in the foreground brought the whole thing home, I think this might be the most master of masterpieces! And I'm calling it now, the secret project has gotta be an art book!
When I had a ski vacation in my youth, we also spend two nights in some alpine cabin. It still had that infamous thunder beam in the latrine hut. So be happy having those toilet seats, they are pure luxury.
A few of those had me going "damn, that just needs a sauna" xDDDD And then I went "oooh, Moomin mug!" I'm such a cliche, honestly. Really pretty painting, and really cool video!
Every time you post a video of you traveling around Norway I realize how beautiful this country must be. It's so different from what I'm used to here in southern Europe. Btw the painting is amazing as always!
I love how each location influenced the painting (even the weather) the creative process is so cool. Apparently, I need go outside and touch grass to do art in nature. (Tbh you should've done a coffee star rating)
Idea for the next Martina Paints Remote series: paint a painting at each location, so you end up with a tryptich...or a penta-tich? However many canvases you want to carry, those things are HEAVY!
That might be my favorite painting she's ever done too. I had my doubts though, when she pitched the idea in the beginning. I mean, she's done this kind of painting with dragons over and over, and I thought it'd just be the same. Don't get me wrong, that's good! But the aesthetic of this particular painting seemed to be influenced by each environment she was in in each cabin. It started with a bunch of warm colors and gradually got more winterized. That layering and changing as she went along really added depth to the entire piece. Amazing work.
When Martina pulls a Bob Ross 🫣 and starts painting over a beautiful scene 🤬… and then does it again 🫣… and then it all works out in the end for a wonderful painting. 😊 The sky looked beautiful through all the stages, Martina, even if they weren’t the vibes you were going for. Big cloud closest to the scene looks like a spaceship.
Honestly one of my favorite paintings you’ve done and video ideas! You can see the inspiration from each site you stayed at, and I love the final details! Also lol at the rocking chair comment, you should make this one into a print it just transports you when you look at it!
The "very cute, very demure, very mindful," made me smile so much. And ngl, cabin five was just all of my Minecraft houses I built when I was nine come to life.
Absolutely amazing cabins, Martina! I really loved the views on the first cabin, and the last one! The last cabin was also nicely designed and furnished that I would want to visit it! You've got great spots in your country, the nature is stunning🤩 Epic painting!!! You outdone yourself 💯
Props to Hansi for great imagery of the correct way to welcome the Norse dark season in addition to Martina excelling at "dass" reviewing (yes we use the correct term among friends) while painting us all into the spooky season
Watching this, I really want to start painting again. Love how you decided to do your inspiration. I can tell how each influenced how the painting turned out 😊
Ah Martina, I love that for the last 5 years or so, your mind has translated "I want to paint" into "I need to put myself through hell to accomplish my goal" you don't make a compelling case for taking up art! 😅
PS. I will never get over how beautiful Norway is. I'll give you a new challenge. Teach a fat Scotsman with no visual imagination how to paint in ten days, as long as it's me, and I get to spend some time in Norway after.
This take me back to the first video I saw of your that made me want to watch you. When you spent a week alone in the woods painting. Loved you ever since, and really enjoy your drive and inspiration.
I love love love how Martina embrased the norwegian accent while experiencing one of the most norwegian things. Awww and he cabins - so cool. What a wonderful video idea. I loved it :)
I love the last cabin. I would have stayed there in high Norwegian summer, when the temperature is the highest and it's as hot as it gets. I would probably think that it sucks and I should have come in a more wintery time, but at the same time I wouldn't because I can't stand the cold! 😅 Martina's painting skills are leveling up like crazy! I just love her! Also, the Moomin mug!
I gonna try that Challenge, but staying in a single one and just staying like a type of Mystical legend than only farm, live outside the social locations, only playing games and drawing.
I would like to see an ALL INK CHALLENGE. Think Inktober kinda thing. But using your perspective drawing video in mind. Basically, all in with ink tho. As I know that is a medium you don't use basically ever.
Martina and Hansi never disappoints! Honestly guys I remember the days where you used to call us "nerds" LOL and throughout the years your content just got better.
I know pretty much nothing about Norway, but thanks to you (including Nori :3) this beautiful country looks like such a cute, comfortable and safe space for the puppies to have fun, exercise and be free but not at risk and I reaaaally appreciate that. I hope I can experience it one day with my babies and loved one to confirm it ✨
This was an awesome adventure, with the cabins and painting. Loved the story-telling (and the many times you reworked the canvas). I can only imagine how complicated it was to keep track of all the footage!
Being a landscape artist, I would have done a painting at each cabin of what I saw out the window or from the porch. Love your work - how did you stay on point in such beautiful surroundings?
Wow, the painting is absolutely magical! It oozes atmosphere and fantastical mystery. Thank you for sharing this! I just wish you went a bit deeper into this cabbin-hopping influence. I feel like I don't understand why that's been done and what the effect was. You stated what you are looking for but not what effect it had on the work, so it seems a bit like you would be able to paint this amazing painting even if you stayed in a single spot. But that's just about the form, nothing to do with how awesome the result is and I'm sure that the whole trip had a huge effect on the finished piece. Well done!
I loved watching you paint and see the painting change because you didn't like certain parts, i feel like its the prefectionism and how you get new ideas when you are on eating or before going to bed or on the toilet looking at the royal family. Very inspirational! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Bless you Martina, you have such a gift for creating beautiful things. Every time I think it can't get any better, it does and I'm blown away. Thank you for sharing this with us
Phenomenal work as always. I haven’t painted pretty much all summer. I think it’s time I pick up my brush again. Thank you for the inspiration. I can’t wait to hear more about your secret project
As a retired graphic designer it is refreshing for me to see old and new techniques used in your work. Have you ever considered making an opened dollhouse styled as a Gothic castle? My wife and I love your dioramas the most. Thanks for entertaining us each month!
OMG Martina that painting is freakin' gorgeous!!! I would love to turn that into a cross stitch pattern and stitch it. You are amazing and I love the work you do. Keep up the amazing videos and content.
Absolutely gorgeous! Oh, and I guess the cabins were nice, too. 😅 Kidding, honestly, it was really neat seeing those different cabins and the NATURE! And the idea of getting away from technology and being able to focus on art for a while sounds SO nice. That painting is incredible, it's so detailed and dynamic! And I loved seeing Nori live his best life. 😊 That dog is having a wonderful time with y'all! Great video, I love all the work you do, but the paintings are just... damn. Seeing you improve over time, even when your first paintings on this channel were already awesome... It's been so inspiring! 🎉
I also really liked the video but what I would've loved to see even more is smaller paintings inspired by the cabins themselves. Especially with that amazing nature around it
Every time I see your paintings, I wish so badly I had the patience to learn to paint too. I love your work. And I love the work of Hansi and you on this channel. Thank you Hansi for those impressive landscapes you captured. You two keep on going ❤
the number of paintings that were really good, and then painted over as you changed them to something different is impressive. It's just as well you showed us all the process so we could see all the hidden views in the final picture. 🙂
I absolutely love your paintings! When you were blocking out the painting I thought it was going to be Jormungandr and Þor since you have already done a Fenrir and Oðin. You should do a Ragnarok series of paintings, I’m sure they would be absolutely amazing.
Wow! That was a really awesome video! You picked absolutely incredible spots where I'd like to go to as well someday. I admire the dedication and effort you put into your projects and I hope that you will be able to continue doing so for a long time.
2:30 Phew, was getting worried I was on the wrong channel 😅 Really enjoying the more experience-focused videos! Adds a nice contrast to the big projects, plus I love off-grid stuff so seeing all the cabins makes me really want to go find one near here... Coffee rankings: A - Mountain coffee B - River coffee? C - Lake coffee D - Waterfall coffee F - Marsh coffee Now did the river coffee beat out the mountain coffee? Not sure there.
one, im totally jealous two, the friggin difference in the cabin finishes to the final final result... seeing the evolution and the how the added details added so much more depth and movement to it.... aaaaaaaahhhh.... so pretty and epic 😍😍😍😍
God damn girl, your painting skills have always been amazing but you have REALLY just taken it to the next level lately, all that time and practice you’ve been putting in has paid off 1000%!
Love Nori going swimming in the lake at Cabin 5 and that he is just down for anything given he is with his people.
Haha, Nori, the real star of the show!
That made the lake scene 10000x better ❤❤❤
I came here for this comment! Nori out there living his best life!

I agree!
The process trusts her
I read that as “sponge Bob Ross” 😭😭
It's insane watching her grow; in confidence, as an artist, content creator and in her ideas over the years! 😀
The heart u guys gave disapeared after I edited the comment, and my replies keep getting deleted, would appreciate if you guys could re-like it 🙏

As a person in a wheelchair, I give the accessibility zero out of 10 you lost me the moment you had to walk which is for basically every cabin

I'm traveling to Norway this summer and seeing this makes me all the more excited great vid by the way
23:01 Love the sunset time lapse clip and reflection on the lake
It's awesome !!!!
Thoroughly enjoyed watched this! 10/10 I would love to see you do something like this again!
I am always blown away by how talented you are across so many disciplines. Thanks for sharing these amazing experiences.
I would love a part two! This was so much fun to watch!!
2:30 Phew, was getting worried I was on the wrong channel 😅
Really enjoying the more experience-focused videos! Adds a nice contrast to the big projects, plus I love off-grid stuff so seeing all the cabins makes me really want to go find one near here...
Coffee rankings:
A - Mountain coffee
B - River coffee?
C - Lake coffee
D - Waterfall coffee
F - Marsh coffee
Now did the river coffee beat out the mountain coffee? Not sure there.
one, im totally jealous
two, the friggin difference in the cabin finishes to the final final result... seeing the evolution and the how the added details added so much more depth and movement to it.... aaaaaaaahhhh.... so pretty and epic 😍😍😍😍
i love when you turn on the norwegian accent on purpose :D great work, team!
These cabins are so cool!
Also you outdone yourself with this painting.
The creativity you manage to put on a canvas never ceases to amaze me!! Amazing painting and awesome video!!!
God damn girl, your painting skills have always been amazing but you have REALLY just taken it to the next level lately, all that time and practice you’ve been putting in has paid off 1000%!
