Minehead parkrun [] Full Send [] Can I Beat My PB From 8 Years Ago? [] Battle for Female Podium

- Our latest parkrun travels took us to Minehead, an event we last did in 2016. That day, aged 52, Dawn ran 22:36. Could she beat that time as a F60 eight years later?
The battle for the third female position was tightly contested, with four of five females finishing within a few seconds of each other. Could Dawn also squeeze onto the podium at this scenic seafront parkrun?

I think the most parkruns stat should be scrapped.... at least until i get my total up above 1 😅
Excellent running on that slightly congested course.
We went to Butlins at Minehead a few years ago and enjoyed our stay, though I wasn't aware of all of John's fun facts 👍

Well done! I was there too on their first event back in 2016! I'm much slower than you but getting close to 500 parkruns so yes definitely keep the stats, at least I'm top 5 in something most weeks!
Yes, I agree with all stats should stay. One of the beauties of parkrun was/is something to go for with the stats, irrelevant of pace.
Looking forward to this one, my friend runs here regularly on holiday and was there on Saturday. Hopefully might spot her in the background 😁

John was on filming duties. It would be funny if she was one of the 5 in contention for 3rd spot....😅 Hope she had a good run no matter where she was. 🙂
@@tworunningbrooms- great running Dawn. It was pretty narrow in places where there were runners in both directions. Very tightly packed female field. No sign of my friend Gail though 🙂
I’ve visited Minehead a few times as a child. Plus taken a trip on the steam train too 🚂
@racheld1844 the steam train ran past we were staying. Very evocative whistle sound. Hope Gail had a good run. It was good to say we'd run part of the South West Coast Path 😉
Well done Dawn! I thought you were going for a parkrun PB, not a course PB? Great running! I’ve given up on the stats and just go for a jog now at my local parkrun.
I wish....That would be low 19s, and that day will never return no matter how much training I do. Course pbs and age grading are my way forward. I often just run steady, though, or progressively.

Hello, thought I spotted 1 of the 2 Running Brooms at Weymouth parkrun today. I ran... felt good to recognise you if I'm correct! Nevermind if I'm mistaken. Was busy but enjoyed it. 😊 Appreciate the Ian Botham mention... Yeovil/Somerset Cricket Club legend.
Yes we were both at Weymouth today. We did the first event there too. Yes Somerset cricket. Great rivals of Essex back in that era. Hope you enjoyed today too.

Yes, lovely place and scenic course but you have to keep your wits about you in places. Loved it though. 🙂

Haha 😁 Although there was plenty of congestion slowing us down at points. In fact, the lady in front came to a standstill at one point.
