Not the only 'pasta song' by a german band. There was a band named 'Peiniger' (tormentor)from Dresden (if I remember correctly) saw them around 20 years ago. They were in the style of death metal but with rediculous lyrics. I had two records of them '666⁶-Mega Evil' and 'Superevil'. Songs about baking a cake and getting anoyed by a fruit fly and destroying the whole kitchen trying to kill it and the song about his vacation in Italy and getting a bad case of diareah which triggerd his hate for pasta. This stuff was funny as hell. Sadly I can't find the CDs anymore and I couldn't find a trace on the internet so far. If anyone knows something please let me know. This TBS song isn't my beer, like Electric Callboy its just not my type of music. But its nice to see that they get carried out into the world for a much bigger audience to see.

I'll have to adjust my definition of "TBS". To me, "TBS" is the American cable channel that plays "A Christmas Story" for 24 hours every Christmas. I only caught a few words, but this cracked me up. Especially "Bon Jovi, Bon Jovi" . Fun song. But the AI cheese spew? Yeah, I'm not that hungry anymore. I can see kids loving this song and video. It's great. Very catchy.

I've seen them twice now and going a third time in February. They're great live and just do random fun stuff for each song and inbetween. Like a beer chugging contest before their song Dosenbier.

Didn't expect to see TBS on this channel :D They quickly became one of my fav bands after I discovered them last year. Went to one of their shows earlier this year with Samurai Pizza Cats, it was a smaller show, still the most fun I ever had at a concert! They're AMAZING live, I'd presonally put them slightly over electric callboy. Funfact about that show: One of their songs is about fanny packs, part of the lyrics in that song is (roughly translated) "you look so jealous with your backpack in the club". Someone actually brought a backpack into the pit just for this one song. Definetly can't wait for their next tour, already got my ticket! And maybe I'll also attend their heimspiel next year, it's not that far away after all.
If you wanna check out a few more songs from them I can recommend basically all the of the current singles and from their older albums "Ich hab Polizei" (that is actually a cover of a song from a german satrical magazine), "Banana", "Alpha & Opfah", "Lauf Junge", "Reiner" and "Diamanten"

I've never experienced the weird side. My German metal experience is the Metal Queen herself, Doro Pesch, as well as the Scorpions of course, Helloween, and Beyond The Black.
If youre gonna check out more of them u gotta listen to the new Songs like "Sonnenbrille" or "Freitag". Some of my favourite TBS Songs since they came out. Ive seen them live 3 Times now and those 3 shows were the funniest shows ive ever been too.

After 37 years on this beautiful blue planet with all it's horrors I came to the conclusion that you're just missing out if you take youreself, and other people to serious. Tank, with your understanding of German, I think you might really appreciate/like Knorkator. They are one of the German OG "not taking themselves seriously" metal bands. Most (if not all) band members have higher education degrees in classical music and their lyrics are some of the most intelligent ones in the game. TBS have lots of weird and funny ideas for their songs, like Bauchtasche, Rainer, Mein Stern, or Bierdurst, it´s just another fantastic and funny german metal band.
Even though we live in Germany, we hadn't heard of the band before. The song has a few really good parts, even if the hip hop content was a little too high for our taste, German rap is not ours at all. More and more bands are learning that it's not so important to take themselves super seriously and that metal can also be combined with humor, which is a very positive development. One of the pioneers of metal bands that don't take themselves too seriously are Maximum The Hormone. If you don't know it yet, be sure to check out their remake of the song Shimi, which they did together with the band Atarashii Gakko. Clearly the best song and video of the year for us so far.
That "berlin underground" reminds me at some Gabba stuff playing on one or the other campground party of summerbreeze a decade ago. Fun times. Thanks for "calling out" fear factory. My brain could not put a finger on it. have fun with german song texts.

It's basically Kraftklub meets EC or WBTBWB...I don't like Kraftklub, but this is fun like WBTBWB and Samurai Pizza Cats...
I love them! If you haven't seen it, I recommend Bauchtasche.
The best part is, it's not the German metal scene, it's the entire German music scene that is like this including rap, punk and stuff.
In general i really love German Metalcore.. these Bands are all insane in various degrees. No matter if they mainly sing in English or German.
