Bought my 13 mini last October and will keep it for years...in 2/3 years lifespan I'm going to an Apple store to replace the battery. Tiny but very powerful, it's really a great phone.

I say in 2-3 years you should just retire it and get a new phone. Don't sell it or give it away but use it as a backup or a 2nd camera instead. An iPhone in airplane mode that's only used as a camera and a music player will net you quite a long time. That's what I do with my iPhone X and it only has to be charged once a week, sometimes less frequent. iPhones have great standby time on a single charge and not using wifi or cellular really makes it last much longer. Just some unsolicited advice from the owner of a 4yr old iPhone.
I’m keeping mine as long as possible because I like smaller phones and this is the last mini I just hope in the future the mini returns but I can definitely see me with this phone for the next 4 years
I'm completely baffled by the comments on the battery. Have bought the 13 mini a few days ago. I do not play games, neither record videos/take photos; I check messages sometimes, listen to no more than 2h of podcasts/songs every day. And, around 15 pm the battery level is about 30% (being charged @ 8, 9 am). Really, tf is happening because people are saying by the end of the day their battery level is yet about 20, 10%
Currently have a perfectly good and still great iPhone XR for the last 3 years, battery efficiency at 90%. I have been thinking about the iPhone 13 Mini for a few days now, more so since I held it in my hands. Perfect size for me.

Now that I’ve used the amazing 13 mini for a while I realize that one of the things I like the most is how easy it makes using Apple Pay at point of sales machines. Instead of fishing a huge phone out and holding that beast up to the machine the mini slips in and out of your pocket so smoothly and effortlessly in comparison, also people can hardly tell you’re holding anything when you scan the machine.

I have been waited for the smaller phone since years then finally replaced my iPhone XS by 13 mini. Its best phone i had ever, 5.4" is still big enough screen to write emails, posts on socials and watching YT videos or gaming. No more larger phone ever if possible. It lays in pocket perfectly no matter you're in work or on sport activities like running or biking, and completely no issues with battery working time - one day of very active up to two days when i am not using phone a lot.
It was time for a new iPhone for me. Have always admired the 12 mini. When to the Apple Store to check out the 14 and 13 models and came home with a blue 13 Mini. What a great phone, love the size to this little powerhouse…

I think that Apple should've released the mini 6 months after the release of the standard 13 and the Pro models. That way, the mini isn't looked as the most inferior phone out of the bunch. If Apple released it 6 months after alongside the SE, people can have a choice between which new shiny small phone they'd prefer.

Love my 13 mini and if Apple end up discontinuing the mini, it was nice while it lasted. I think it had a lot of potential, but its sales said otherwise. I'll keep buying it if they do make another mini in the future. I have the same experience with my pinky. I feel that it hurts and is suffering from such big phones. Not anymore with the 13 mini tho. It just feels so nice in the hand. Love the vid, man! A video on why the mini line up failed would be a great idea!

The first error was to call it « Mini ». That sound immediately inferior and cheap. The names should have been like : iPhone 13, 13 Plus, 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max. Same goes for 12 series

Though I considered switching to the 13 Mini from my old iPhone X, I went for the 13 Pro due to battery reasons. Was longing for a phone that would make me forget about battery, and I‘m more than happy with the 13 Pro‘s battery life. Still, if Apple somehow - magically - would come up with a mini phone which had the same battery life of the 13 Pro, I’d instantly be down for it 😎

After several years of using an iPhone 8 (and an 8 Plus before that), I was aiming for an iPhone 12 or 13 Mini since I really like the comfort of smaller phones and couldn't afford any of the current flagships. I'm perfectly sure that I would have been completely happy with either Mini model. Now, I ended up getting used iPhone 12 Pro - but I still consider the Minis to be the perfect phones for me and my needs. If I would get a single wish for the future iPhones, it would be that the next generation of the iPhone SE is based on the 13 Mini - that would be wonderful!
@Andreas Viklund - I myself having used both the pro (currently 14 pro) and mini phones I would still prefer the mini. The size and comfort is such an important factor for me that I don’t miss anything in comparison to the pro models. I really think they should’ve eliminated the SE and turned it into the mini line.
Satisfying review, bought my mini a week back. Love it and like you said if Apple releases another mini then you can see me standing in the queue outside the store.

I gave my 13 mini to my wife a year ago and am now going to buy another for me I agree with everything you say it’s so easy to manage and is powerful enough for what most people will need 😊oh by the way I’m predominantly an android user but this is all I need.

I moved to this from 11 pro, and i am so super happy about the form factor as well as the camera. I always preferred such an easy to hold & easy to carry iPhone and it makes me feel nostalgic as i think of iPhone 5/5s which was another awesome phone had come up. And yeah, its the last mini they say, so i am definitely planning to keep for long time (longer than 11 pro which i used for around 2.5 years). Great video overall ❤️

@Nikos - I don’t think you will have any issue because the 11 pro is rated for up to 18 hours of video playback while the 13 mini is rated for 17. Considering that your battery has probably aged a bit I believe you’d be getting an equivalent or even better amount of life from the 13 mini. I have always liked iPhone as it's always been so compact, smooth to use, powerfull and what not. The best phone ever I joined apple family when I bought 5s and then suddenly from iphone 6 the design were changed. I was using 5s for almost 10 years hoping they would bring the same design back. I was happy with the release of 12 especially 12 mini but reviews of 12 mini were not that great. Last October I bought 13 mini and it's such a great phone. It's like 5s 1 inch taller with edge to edge display. I still remember checking the size of 13 mini by putting my 5s on top of that hoping it not being to big then 5s. People take me as a fool for choosing mini over 13 but honestly I just love it. If the stories of 13 mini being the last compact iphone are true then all 13 mini holders should be proud to own a legendary phone.
Happy for 13 mini. Had SOS purchase so I took SE 3 first, and then I saw it's a no go for me (did the switch). Thought about 12 mini.. but hey i can lower the capacity and take the 13 mini with the same price range. From X to 13 mini. Phone size is normal, not that small and love the camera + night mode. Performance is great and battery life is good. I was surprised that 13 min have cinema mode as well.. Will see how much battery life iOS 15.5 will add. I believe I will switch to iPhone 15 afterwards (but who knows). Had the iPhone X for 5 years. Awesome to see that gaming console!

Was on the fence about deciding between 13 and 13 mini.. and after the new 14 series, which basically have pretty much the same specs as 13, the 13 mini seems so special ! I'll go get it now XD
@@QasimZafar Exactly ! It felt like the perfect time to upgrade. Been holding on to my Galaxy S9 for more than 3 yrs now and that was so slim and had the perfect size.. The only issue in the later stages was its battery performance. And that's again the concern here with the mini. But the magsafe battery looks kinda made for the mini too haha. I can never get myself to hold and use monsters like the pro max.

I love how down to earth this review feels, great video. I'm glad I'm discovering this phone years after it was released because it means I can find it at a lower price. If I were to buy a refurbished 13 mini at, say, a battery health of 80%, would that lower health affect the battery life much in your opinion?

I had a se 2020 the battery was terrible I would always need the charg it 2 hours into work and would have to wait a long time just to hit 40% but the 13 mini I just wake up no change needed I can have it on me with out having to think about it
@Peppita Chips - Yeah the battery of the 13 mini is definitely better than the SE 2020 which I also had. With light usage it’s not difficult to get through the day.

The mini is not going to get a device upgrade for now so you’re good if you want to buy one. What I would do is wait until iPhone 15 release so that you can get it for a better price.

It is misleading to compare the screen size of the 13 mini and the plus phones with 5.5 inch screens because of aspect ratios. Those older phones have larger wider screens

if its not for you then dont even bother. Iphone 13 mini is a good phone especially for disabled people because u can use it one handed. Battery issues can be solved with a battery pack. Its got features from the 12 pro and pro max that apple manage to fit into the 13 mini

that 7/8 plus comparison doesnt really make sense since they have a completely different aspect ratio. a 5.5'' 16:9 display (7/8+) is more comparable to a 6.1'' 20:9 display like on the 13 pro max because of the width.
@Patrick Kudak - I had a 7/8 plus and I’d happily make the switch, definitely wouldn’t be caught up with the overall ratio. For me it just makes sense to go from that to a smaller phone but still be able to have a good screen size along with an improvement in terms of overall features. This phone should be called iPhone Pocket or something like that. Mini sounds like it's inferior to the regular iPhone. Plus and Max sound like they are superior to the regular iPhone. That's at least partially why the sales are lacking with the Mini. I'm pretty sure the next iPhone SE will be based on the Mini. Hope so.

Bought the mini in December and I am disgusted with it I have had this piece of junk for 8 months it is too small and just an se+1 glad they canceled the minis if only they would recall these things so I could get my money back

I changed from an iPhone 8 Plus wanting something smaller as I was tired of the big size for the last four years, I was aiming at the 12 Pro due to the price but discovered the 13 mini had some great specs including same camera lenses as last year’s pro, almost same screen size as my previous 8 plus and said fuck it… I have zero regrets, being able to use this with one hand is great plus all the goodies it has. Just to be clear I have an iPad Pro 12.9 so all my media consumption/ work and studies are done there.

I’m in the exact same situation. I’m still using my 8 plus, i’ll get the mini probably next month. But i’m an art student so i have an iPad pro too and a Macbook so i don’t need a big phone anymore. I always liked the small phones but i bought the 8 plus because at the time that was my only device and i liked to read pdf books.

I’m currently shopping for an iPhone.. I’ve had the 12 Pro and Max models and used the Max model for a year and I’m still struggling to make it feel comfortable on my hands lol.. I use my iPhone for basic use and a bit of media and I’ve been eyeing the 13 mini since there was no drastic change with the 14 lineup
@joeylondonxo - I just did a video on trying out the pro max for two weeks and even though it’s got the bigger screen and added features I still would prefer the mini. Tons of capability in a perfect form factor.

@Francesco Pavinato - With the 13 pro I’m at a 30% mark by 9/10pm so getting through the day I don’t have to rely on any additional charge however on heavier days even the 13 pro requires a little boost. Hope this helps 😊.

However the mini is my daily device and I can’t recommend it enough…I do understand your concern though simply because you don’t know how good the battery health will be on the refurbished one. I’d say wait it out because there are rumors of a new se4 device which should be similar to the 13 mini.

Bought my 13 mini last October and will keep it for years...in 2/3 years lifespan I'm going to an Apple store to replace the battery. Tiny but very powerful, it's really a great phone.

I say in 2-3 years you should just retire it and get a new phone. Don't sell it or give it away but use it as a backup or a 2nd camera instead. An iPhone in airplane mode that's only used as a camera and a music player will net you quite a long time. That's what I do with my iPhone X and it only has to be charged once a week, sometimes less frequent. iPhones have great standby time on a single charge and not using wifi or cellular really makes it last much longer. Just some unsolicited advice from the owner of a 4yr old iPhone.
I’m keeping mine as long as possible because I like smaller phones and this is the last mini I just hope in the future the mini returns but I can definitely see me with this phone for the next 4 years

I'm completely baffled by the comments on the battery. Have bought the 13 mini a few days ago. I do not play games, neither record videos/take photos; I check messages sometimes, listen to no more than 2h of podcasts/songs every day. And, around 15 pm the battery level is about 30% (being charged @ 8, 9 am). Really, tf is happening because people are saying by the end of the day their battery level is yet about 20, 10%
Currently have a perfectly good and still great iPhone XR for the last 3 years, battery efficiency at 90%. I have been thinking about the iPhone 13 Mini for a few days now, more so since I held it in my hands. Perfect size for me.

Now that I’ve used the amazing 13 mini for a while I realize that one of the things I like the most is how easy it makes using Apple Pay at point of sales machines. Instead of fishing a huge phone out and holding that beast up to the machine the mini slips in and out of your pocket so smoothly and effortlessly in comparison, also people can hardly tell you’re holding anything when you scan the machine.

I have been waited for the smaller phone since years then finally replaced my iPhone XS by 13 mini.
Its best phone i had ever, 5.4" is still big enough screen to write emails, posts on socials and watching YT videos or gaming. No more larger phone ever if possible.
It lays in pocket perfectly no matter you're in work or on sport activities like running or biking, and completely no issues with battery working time - one day of very active up to two days when i am not using phone a lot.
Your voice is so soothing, can listen to it all night long

I think that Apple should've released the mini 6 months after the release of the standard 13 and the Pro models. That way, the mini isn't looked as the most inferior phone out of the bunch. If Apple released it 6 months after alongside the SE, people can have a choice between which new shiny small phone they'd prefer.

Love my 13 mini and if Apple end up discontinuing the mini, it was nice while it lasted. I think it had a lot of potential, but its sales said otherwise. I'll keep buying it if they do make another mini in the future.
I have the same experience with my pinky. I feel that it hurts and is suffering from such big phones. Not anymore with the 13 mini tho. It just feels so nice in the hand.

The first error was to call it « Mini ». That sound immediately inferior and cheap. The names should have been like : iPhone 13, 13 Plus, 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max. Same goes for 12 series

Though I considered switching to the 13 Mini from my old iPhone X, I went for the 13 Pro due to battery reasons. Was longing for a phone that would make me forget about battery, and I‘m more than happy with the 13 Pro‘s battery life. Still, if Apple somehow - magically - would come up with a mini phone which had the same battery life of the 13 Pro, I’d instantly be down for it 😎

After several years of using an iPhone 8 (and an 8 Plus before that), I was aiming for an iPhone 12 or 13 Mini since I really like the comfort of smaller phones and couldn't afford any of the current flagships. I'm perfectly sure that I would have been completely happy with either Mini model. Now, I ended up getting used iPhone 12 Pro - but I still consider the Minis to be the perfect phones for me and my needs. If I would get a single wish for the future iPhones, it would be that the next generation of the iPhone SE is based on the 13 Mini - that would be wonderful!
@Andreas Viklund - I myself having used both the pro (currently 14 pro) and mini phones I would still prefer the mini. The size and comfort is such an important factor for me that I don’t miss anything in comparison to the pro models. I really think they should’ve eliminated the SE and turned it into the mini line.
Satisfying review, bought my mini a week back. Love it and like you said if Apple releases another mini then you can see me standing in the queue outside the store.

I moved to this from 11 pro, and i am so super happy about the form factor as well as the camera. I always preferred such an easy to hold & easy to carry iPhone and it makes me feel nostalgic as i think of iPhone 5/5s which was another awesome phone had come up.
And yeah, its the last mini they say, so i am definitely planning to keep for long time (longer than 11 pro which i used for around 2.5 years). Great video overall ❤️

@Nikos - I don’t think you will have any issue because the 11 pro is rated for up to 18 hours of video playback while the 13 mini is rated for 17. Considering that your battery has probably aged a bit I believe you’d be getting an equivalent or even better amount of life from the 13 mini. I have always liked iPhone as it's always been so compact, smooth to use, powerfull and what not. The best phone ever I joined apple family when I bought 5s and then suddenly from iphone 6 the design were changed. I was using 5s for almost 10 years hoping they would bring the same design back. I was happy with the release of 12 especially 12 mini but reviews of 12 mini were not that great. Last October I bought 13 mini and it's such a great phone. It's like 5s 1 inch taller with edge to edge display. I still remember checking the size of 13 mini by putting my 5s on top of that hoping it not being to big then 5s. People take me as a fool for choosing mini over 13 but honestly I just love it. If the stories of 13 mini being the last compact iphone are true then all 13 mini holders should be proud to own a legendary phone.

Happy for 13 mini. Had SOS purchase so I took SE 3 first, and then I saw it's a no go for me (did the switch). Thought about 12 mini.. but hey i can lower the capacity and take the 13 mini with the same price range. From X to 13 mini. Phone size is normal, not that small and love the camera + night mode. Performance is great and battery life is good. I was surprised that 13 min have cinema mode as well.. Will see how much battery life iOS 15.5 will add. I believe I will switch to iPhone 15 afterwards (but who knows). Had the iPhone X for 5 years. Awesome to see that gaming console!

@@QasimZafar Exactly ! It felt like the perfect time to upgrade. Been holding on to my Galaxy S9 for more than 3 yrs now and that was so slim and had the perfect size.. The only issue in the later stages was its battery performance. And that's again the concern here with the mini. But the magsafe battery looks kinda made for the mini too haha.
I can never get myself to hold and use monsters like the pro max.

I had a se 2020 the battery was terrible I would always need the charg it 2 hours into work and would have to wait a long time just to hit 40% but the 13 mini I just wake up no change needed I can have it on me with out having to think about it
@Peppita Chips - Yeah the battery of the 13 mini is definitely better than the SE 2020 which I also had. With light usage it’s not difficult to get through the day.
The leather case from apple now sucks but what caused yours to look like that? I swapped to nomad for my 13 Pro. I miss the 11 Pro size the most.

The mini is not going to get a device upgrade for now so you’re good if you want to buy one. What I would do is wait until iPhone 15 release so that you can get it for a better price.

It is misleading to compare the screen size of the 13 mini and the plus phones with 5.5 inch screens because of aspect ratios. Those older phones have larger wider screens

Sounded like you were making excuses for horrid battery life. Good android phones which are 100-200 USD less have way better battery.

That talk about having a smaller chassis where one has to compromise on the battery life is Apple bullshit. how come we had compact phones in the past by companies like Nokia and Samsung that had a great battery life? A person would understand that they did not want consumers to have such a life expectancy from a phone so that the upgrades keep happening and the sales go up. either for the phone or the accessories, that’s why things like the headphones and the brick have been removed from all new phones that are sold by Apple do you have a very convenient excuse it’s called saving the environment my ass! 👎🏻

if its not for you then dont even bother. Iphone 13 mini is a good phone especially for disabled people because u can use it one handed. Battery issues can be solved with a battery pack. Its got features from the 12 pro and pro max that apple manage to fit into the 13 mini

that 7/8 plus comparison doesnt really make sense since they have a completely different aspect ratio. a 5.5'' 16:9 display (7/8+) is more comparable to a 6.1'' 20:9 display like on the 13 pro max because of the width.
@Patrick Kudak - I had a 7/8 plus and I’d happily make the switch, definitely wouldn’t be caught up with the overall ratio. For me it just makes sense to go from that to a smaller phone but still be able to have a good screen size along with an improvement in terms of overall features. This phone should be called iPhone Pocket or something like that. Mini sounds like it's inferior to the regular iPhone. Plus and Max sound like they are superior to the regular iPhone. That's at least partially why the sales are lacking with the Mini.
I'm pretty sure the next iPhone SE will be based on the Mini. Hope so.

I'm actually confused between the 13 and 13 mini, wyat if the duze us too small and if i get bored of the size?
I changed from an iPhone 8 Plus wanting something smaller as I was tired of the big size for the last four years, I was aiming at the 12 Pro due to the price but discovered the 13 mini had some great specs including same camera lenses as last year’s pro, almost same screen size as my previous 8 plus and said fuck it… I have zero regrets, being able to use this with one hand is great plus all the goodies it has.
Just to be clear I have an iPad Pro 12.9 so all my media consumption/ work and studies are done there.

I’m in the exact same situation. I’m still using my 8 plus, i’ll get the mini probably next month. But i’m an art student so i have an iPad pro too and a Macbook so i don’t need a big phone anymore. I always liked the small phones but i bought the 8 plus because at the time that was my only device and i liked to read pdf books.

I’m currently shopping for an iPhone.. I’ve had the 12 Pro and Max models and used the Max model for a year and I’m still struggling to make it feel comfortable on my hands lol.. I use my iPhone for basic use and a bit of media and I’ve been eyeing the 13 mini since there was no drastic change with the 14 lineup
@joeylondonxo - I just did a video on trying out the pro max for two weeks and even though it’s got the bigger screen and added features I still would prefer the mini. Tons of capability in a perfect form factor.

Can you give a quick comparison between 12 Pro and 13 mini battery life? Is it true the difference is just minimal?
@@frankiepavinato I used both and the battery of the iPhone 13 mini can really hold the battery as the iPhone 12 pro, just minimum different but almost the same to be honest
@Francesco Pavinato - With the 13 pro I’m at a 30% mark by 9/10pm so getting through the day I don’t have to rely on any additional charge however on heavier days even the 13 pro requires a little boost. Hope this helps 😊.

@yelitzamartinez4504 - The 15 pro is a great device as I got to test it out when it first launched. However the mini is my daily device and I can’t recommend it enough…I do understand your concern though simply because you don’t know how good the battery health will be on the refurbished one. I’d say wait it out because there are rumors of a new se4 device which should be similar to the 13 mini.
