as someone still holding on to their original SE, the hilarious thing is that i've been working around a rapidly degrading battery for a couple of years and even this smaller battery is going to be an enormous quality of life upgrade for me

I can live with the SE2’s battery life so far, so the mini’s battery will be a huge upgrade for you since it’s much better than my SE2’s battery.

Even a brand new original SE would have worse battery life than the 12 mini, the whole battery life complaint is way blown up. Not to mention that people that want small phones use them like phones are supposed to be used, not watching videos all day or playing games hours on end.

There is no problem with the battery , I consistently make it through all day with moderate usage, really like the 12 Mini

5:12 Literally said the same thing about the 11 and 12 standard sizes. I got my 12 mini today after having a 6s for 4 years. I love how small it is; its actually functional to me.

Yep, me too. I do have an iPad Pro 11” and it’s awesome.
And ya know what? Most of the time when I’m doing something where a big screen would be nice, I’ve either got my iPad with me or I’m in a place where an iPad is available.

I had an SE (the one from 2015) and I am so happy for this. I hated this rounded design and I am so happy they are going back to the clean cut with defined edges.
I still have the original SE. I've been holding out for this. Finally, small phones with squared off sides are back! I only had to wait 5 generations.

Even though the battery life won't be stellar, it's all about functionality and single-hand use, and maybe will encourage me to not use my phone quite as much and use it more as a phone, less like a tablet. Can't wait for Friday!

@@QueenPcontrolstheuniverse Based off MKBHD's review, he's getting three and a half hours of screen on time. The phone is gonna be fine for light users, but don't expect to be gaming or doing video capture for long periods of time. I'm sure disabling 5G and low brightness should lead to somewhat decent battery life, but it's definitely below average for a modern phone. It's not a deal breaker, but something to look out for.
@@ThePowerOfScience Both his screenshots showed three and a half hours. Maybe he was doing heavy usage, so he's tacking on more screen time for an average user but my point still stands.

Liz is my spirit animal. I feel the exact same way. I have an XR because I wanted to obviously upgrade, but I hate this damn thing. I was SO excited when I saw there was a 12 Mini! I ordered mine in blue and can't wait to get it on Friday. This is what we have been waiting for! I miss using it one handed as well. Liz rocks!

I have been looking at reviews because I know that I’m going to end up with a regular iPhone 12 or a 12 mini but I have been trying to decide between the two for some time now. This review is wonderful because it was done from the viewpoint of someone who has always loved tiny phones and the viewpoint of someone who might be thinking about going from a bigger model to the smaller phone. Thank you for helping me decide that I would like to try a more miniature experience this year!

I’m loving these videos. Really feels like video journalism. Also liked the interview. I’ll admit I look at the hardware visuals too much so it’s fresh to hear from someone who sees their phone as a tool rather than fashion

I love it. The size is really what a phone should be. It is so fast too & my experience with battery life has been great too so far.

I had the original SE, and I did not want to upgrade, but it got splashed with water and forced me to get an 11. I feel like I'm fighting the phone everyday, and I had that same exact reaction she did when seeing the Mini lol
Edit: Spelling. Case in point, my fingers can't reach the correct letters on this 11 😫

The reasons I never liked 11, I bought xs instead last year but returned after 8 months of problematic use, now I have 12 and so far so good. Mini would be my choice but I use as sat nav and extra screen makes it easier to drive and look at.

This is me to the tee. I was so sad when my SE randomly bricked at work one day. Went to the Apple Store, bought an XS, used it for 2 days and hated it so much that I returned it for an 8, which I still hate but have been forced to use for 2 years. I am so excited to pick up my 12 mini on Friday.
Coming from a iPhone 8 Plus I've been waiting for a smaller phone for year's. The excitement is unbelievable. Big phones have a place just not in my pocket or future anymore!!
I switched from the 11 to the 12 Mini and I'm beyond happy. This was the greatest decision! Earlier this year I wanted to buy the SE 2020 because the 11 was just so huge and heavyyyy but my Boyfriend told me to wait for the Keynote to check out what was coming and I'm so glad I did. If you struggle with the size of the 11, check out the 12 mini for real!
* also the fact that you have to buy the charging thing seperate gives you the opportunity for fast charging, this is so great!

This is single-handedly the most exciting iPhone this year. I know plenty of people who love using a smaller phone, and even though I love my 11 Pro, I do miss not having to do a hand shuffle to pull down notifications or control centre.
Watching this while enjoying the 13 mini. So glad they kept this design. Small, squared edges. Timeless design.

My previous phone was the 2016 SE, 32Gb, still works awesome, change the battery and runs amazing, almost like brand new. But this guy is like a Custom Shop iPhone. Just perfect! No issues with battery life, lasts all day. Facebook, calls, messages, music (a lot), UA-cam and AmpliTube for guitar practice and no problem at all.
I’ve been missing the 5 style body since the last rendition I had. (which was the first SE). I love the boxier design and it’s such an ode to their older designs. I love it! Going to be buying one soon.

The fact that this little one has the same main camera as the other 12s is impressive. I've the iPhone 12 and been uploading HDR Cinematic videos for my channel and the quality is so GOOD! I even made my own version of Blinding Lights videoclip by The Weeknd just with the iPhone 12... So I'm sure the Mini will be a best seller!💪
To be honest camera is the same as last year. Not exceptional . Has some problems rendering fine details but otherwise really good.

@@tim00zz no, older iphones didn't have as much lens flare as the newer ones.
@@sourav7162 of course not perfect... but with HDR I really see the improvement against me 11pro. Plus I use final cut pro to edit... you can check out my latest video of making a video cover of Blinding Lights just with the 12.
@@tim00zz that's why I said that... I made some HDR videos in really low light conditions. You can check it on my channel if you want... I was blown away with the 12's camera... plus when you edit that and do some color grading it get's even better!

I had my first generation SE for over 3 years and it was my best phone I ever had. I was so excited they made a 12 mini! I’m loving it soooo much!
I've had my SE 1 for 5 years🥲 but it was also my first phone ever. I was always wondering how people can just change phones every few months when a newer version came out, let alone have the money for that lol. But finally I'm getting the iPhone 12 mini cuz my old phone literally drops to 20% battery after using it for 2 hours on low power mode and low brightness.🤦🏻♀️ I just can't with it anymore

For a case I’d recommend the expensive silicon Apple one. It doesn’t bulk up the phone & makes it look sleek & expensive...I could argue that the phone looks equally as good with the cover on as it does without the cover....

I’m gonna be switching to the Mini from the XR mainly because of size. I’m not TOO terribly worried about that battery life, but I definitely agree that Apple should display the mAh on their website.

Hell no, Apple did it right. Keep the specs the same along the lineup, that's what everyone's been asking and finally they listened.

Apple is selling it for the same price all over the world. The price differences in different market shelves are due to import taxes and tariffs, imposed by the different governments.

When I upgraded my phone, I thought about getting the mini. After many thoughts on which phone to change to between the iPhone 12 Pro and Mini, I figured I could try out the more high end phone. If it wasn’t for the stainless steel style, I most likely would have opted for the Mini. However, I think once I’m ready to update phones, I’ll try out the mini for sure. Hopefully the mini is still available be then.

I’m updating from an iPhone 6 we bought in July 2016. I keep my phones for years. So it’s about time.
Got this bad boy for free from Verizon and ended up gifting it to our son for his very first phone. I set it up for him before we gifted it, and was pleasantly surprised with how it feels, as well as it’s camera and snappy response when scrolling

5.5 inch phones aren't that big lol you should see the 6 inch and up phones
Regular iPhone 12 and pro aren’t that big… it also offers more screen to watch stuff. But, if you’re not into that kind of stuff that’s fine.
@@zzztriplezzz5264 I tried the iPhone 12 for 9 months. I didn’t like the size at all. The phone was just too big for one handed use, at least for me. So I went with the 13 mini recently, and I love it. It has all of the features and design of the new iPhones but can be used with one hand like what a phone should be like in my opinion.
