- 11th March 2014 marks the launch of our British Pakistani Voices campaign, here is a short voxpop filmed in London. We asked the general public what they thought was Pakistani culture and if they had any other thoughts on Pakistanis. This is what we got back.

Pakistani culture is Baloch, Sindhi, Pakhtun, Punjabi and Kahsmiri cultures as well as minority ones.
Had one of my best time in my life in Pakistan the people there were just AMAZING and never forget the BEST meal I ever had in my life was from Lahore LOVE PAKISTAN... 🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰

I came accross in UK and Europe, where they do not use their pakistani identity as they are ashamed of their origin(Restaurants and Taxi drivers etc)...They hide behind Indian name ...You can watch this on youtube covered in pakistani media itself...

@@zackirahghafoor3498 I am Pakistani from England too. I feel like we as Pakistani's do suffer a lot here in England in regards yo institutional racism and so fourth but it doesn't get talked about. I was watching a very interesting documentary here on UA-cam about blacks in 1978 and a lot of the problems they suffered and still do are the very same problems we face however they don't get much coverage.

@@fightermma To be honest with you I made this comment when I was 14 years old and I completely forgot about watching this video. I haven't felt any racism or anything, I do feel some Islamic institutions don't get the same recognition and funding as normal organisations. But in the society I live in the Pakistanis are very vocal and active.

I'm not sure why you're seeking approval from British people who don't know a thing about Pakistan apart from what they see on the media - constant propaganda against the country as well as the stereotypes these people have for Pakistan based on badly behaved British Pakistanis only. In my opinion, most British people that were interviewed here either felt like they needed to say something positive or were blatantly ignorant and through their narrow-mindedness, they clearly demonstrated how they're living in the dark ages. Oh the irony. I'm not saying that Pakistan is perfect, it is very far from it and terrible things do happen within the country. There is no denying that but amazing things happen within it too. Where there is oppression there is also resistance, even if it isnt enough! So why not ask the people who have actually visited Pakistan? If you dont have access to those people, why not make a video compilation of the tourists who have visited/experienced Pakistan and have written/made videos of it? I could give you some pointers if you like because trust me, a lot more non-Pakistanis have visited Pakistan than you think! My final recommendation is that please don't think that only talking about the positive side of Pakistan is gonna change people's perception of the country. You have to paint them a balanced, more accurate and realistic picture so that the good side of Pakistan is more believable. And most importantly, so that we, as a Pakistani community can finally address the issues that we and our people are constantly facing and help our country move forward. Change begins on a micro level. If you can change one persons perception, it can become a domino effect, especially in this day and age with increasing access to world networks (i.e. via social media etc). I hope what I wrote was helpful. P.s. to the ignorant people commenting negative things under this video, it says more negative things about you and your country and NOTHING about Pakistan. Yeah I can tell where you're from *cough cough* Indian, white British person (not limited to these guys). But don't worry, I'm not as ignorant as you to negatively label your nations based on what lowlife snakes like you who spend too much of your pathetic life trolling. #keyboardwarriors 😂
