It always amuses me that the Shadow Hawk IIC, Griffin IIC, and Wolve-uhhh... Conjurer are all lighter, more efficient platforms than their namesakes. And then the Phoenix Hawk IIC is a hulking assault chassis entirely devoid of subtlety.
The shadow hawk iic is really the phenix hawk upgrade. And the switch from 2 medium lasers to 4 lrm 5s. Is actually decent. The range more shots but low damage will still bully lighter mechs. And let's it be a skirmisher. Rather Than a striker with a er large

I would disagree with the ferro-lam comment, sure it's a whole heck of a lot of crits and a fraction more mass to fully armor up (you need roughly 21 or so tons vs 19.5 standard on an Atlas to fully armor the frame), but flat-out immunity to LB-X, halving SRM damage, removing the effect of Autocannon AP ammo, and Tandem-Charge SRMs, and cutting out 20% from any source of damage is absolutely wonderful for turning a normal mech into something much, much harder to kill. It also radically alters breakpoints, sadly not enough to turn 15-pointers into non-headcappers but it does turn 20-pointers into 16 point hits, so, no PSR from a hunchback, and you merely have to be armored vs a Gauss Rifle to withstand it, and every ten point hit becomes 8 points, which misses a very major breakpoint. Not to mention every smaller weapon does a point less too. It is easily the first armor you'd go with, and I do this whenever making a Dark Age custom.
@@argokarrus2731 I do like Ferro-lamellor the best of the "modern armor types", but with how amazingly efficient Clan Ferro-fibrous is, it is sometimes hard to justify.
The original Shadow Hawk SHD-2H is just mediocre. Its flawed in obvious and curious ways. Its only got 3 jump jets but a walking speed of 5 and running speed of 8 so theyre kind of useless. Its got weapons but theyre low damage for the tonnage it uses to equip them. Its got an excessive amount of Heat Sinks(12) that are effectively wasted tonnage because its got low heat generation. There are better battlemechs in practically every area. The Phoenix Hawk is faster, jumps further, and has more close range firepower. The Centurion is slower and doesnt have jump jets but has about double the firepower. The Griffin has more jump jets and double firepower. The Hunchback has about 3 times the firepower but is slower and lacks jump jets. There are even more like the Dervish, Trebuchet, Vindicator, etc. The Shadow Hawk IIC redeems the name by abandoning being a poorly functioning Jack-of-all-Trades and instead effectively being a clan Wolverine battlemech, a short-medium range specialist. It pairs very well with the medium-long range focused Griffin IIC. Its not without flaws. By default It lacks any long range weapon, and it did lose some overall tonnage with a corresponding decrease in maximum armor and melee capability.
🎉🎉 Hello Hello Hello! 🎉🎉 The Beach looks so refreshing ❤ Crazy hair is much more fun than boring hair in my view 😂 Cool that you had fun, even if crusty 😊 😊 Turtle Bridge is sweet, cuteness overload, Doom Pit is silly and I love it ❤ Octo Bro could be named October? I enjoy all of Professor HeyTeeEn videos 🎉
Glad you like them!
The normal Shadow Hawk looks pretty cool, especially the PGI body kits but hot damn if the IIC isn't a damned sexy design.
One of the best looking 'mech in most situations, even the new kit looks great.
Another excellent mech in MW5:Mercenaries in the mods
