I will 100% keep this in mind! The fact that the products are not expensive and work easily with home assistant is amazing!
For sure! Great starter products for HA
@@makeitworktech I would love more videos like this showing off companies and products that work with home assistant.
@@Jensen871 great feedback, thank you!!
@@makeitworktech No problem! I always enjoy your format of videos. Very informative and straight to the point.
Love ThirdReality!. They are my go to for Zigbee devices!
Awe yeah, a great company!
They've earned the attention IMO. I got introduced to ThirdReality because someone mentioned they use AAA batteries in sensors instead of button cells. Since I've been trying what they make, every product not only works but is an absolute banger in function, reliability, and features. I don't mind paying more at all because it's all quality.
Same! The battery type is really nice
Extra content is always welcome 👍
Great vid, they deserve the love. I've used a few of the ThirdReality products and they've worked great and reliably.
Great to hear!
Thank you.
No problem!
I have two of their plugs and they work great.
Really like this approach of brand focused product reviews, let's you really get into the value of that brand and a unique approach imo
Awesome, great feedback!
Looks great 👍🏻 will keep in mind
Great!
Love the Sig shirt brother, rock on !!
Thanks dude!
I've watched a few of your videos and I think there's one tweak that you can make that would drastically increase the watchability of your channel. EQing your VO track. If I were you, I'd raise the channels closest to dead center up just a tad, raise the high mids just to the right of that a tad, lower the mid bass channels (just to the left of the mids in center) just a bit, and then send it all through a compressor. Your VO track is bass heavy, boomy and hard to digest with both speakers and headphones. Since the timbre of your voice is a little on the soft spoken side, turning up the volume only makes this worse.
Just two cents from a nobody. Your informational content great and you clearly take the time to gather it all in a well thought out and organized matter.
Sounds like you have the experience to make a good video on the subject... I could see people referencing it to others and for their self.
Of all comments I've read of people saying stuff about creators audio, this is the first that's actually said anything worth reading.
Be my audio guy! Haha
Great feedback, I only really know how it sounds on my studio headphones, but it's hard to know how it's going to sound on other speakers. I am horrible at audio
@@makeitworktech haha, thanks! I worked in the space quite a long time ago. It's true, it's really hard to know how things will sound for other end users and even if you have monitors or headphones that are pretty neutral sounding learning how to take your personal preference away from that sound to "visualize" (for lack of a better word) how your mix will come through takes a bit of time.
You forgot to mention the smart blinds! Picked one up on some crazy sale, but only just installed it and it is great.
Good to know. I have a house two floors filled with IKEA smart blinds that work beautifully with HA but I have a few odd window sizes that don't fit. And I don't feel like cutting through aluminum.
I've only tried the smart shades - didn't know they had blinds!
I got 5 of those light switches, 4 smart plugs, 4 of the motion sensors, and 1 temperature sensor. All work really great with Home Assistant.
Glad to hear others have the same experience!
The smart plug definitely blows all competition out of the water (at least zigbee wise). I don't think any other plugs offer a comparable feature set.
Yeah, they are pretty great! Sengled has similar features, but are larger and more expensive
What would those features be? All my plugs offer the same features (Zigbee)
The bridge works great with Sengled lights and devices to Matterfy them. It doesn't like Ikea's devices, bulbs are good. I think the bridge excels with zigbee presence sensors from Sonoff and Linptech/moes. If only the Hub was more responsive with their app which the two often won't talk.
Yeah I've avoided using the app and stick with HA unless I need to add another device
in that case I would just use ZHA

More than willing to promote products that are clear and straightforward without the restrictions many other companies do. Say...the A word...no, not that one. The other A word. Yep, that one. Why do they hate us?
Haha Alexa?
More smart company videos, yes please
Thanks for the feedback!!
Good video, found this useful. Third reality, never heard of them before now...
Only thing missing from this one is current device prices....
Hearing more about the companies story might be great - maybe an interview?
Not too sure i care to hear about all the stuff from a brand just cause... You had a compelling reason fkr this and it was interesting. I would not care to see a video like this on Leviton or Ikea or whatever, unless there is a compelling reason... Something awesome or a clear warning...
The problem with adding prices to a video is that they can quickly change, especially if some device (or the competitor being compared) go on sale or out of production/replaced by another version.
@@TechDogeth that's okay, its just a snapshot, a data point
All of my motion sensors are Third Reality. They just work..
Very solid!
Based on your long term use, do you now prefer Third Reality contact sensors over the Aqara ones? I'm in the market for contact sensors and would love to hear which you prefer now.
I like third reality better because the batteries last longer, but if you want something more discreet then aqara is better
@@makeitworktech thanks so much. I may pick up a couple of each to compare. Maybe Third Reality for exterior doors and Aqara for interior doors.
Seems like a great company to check out. Maybe dumb question though, but with the Plug they have is it Matter OR Zigbee or Matter AND Zigbee?
The plug I tested was zigbee, but when connected to the Matter bridge it works that way too
I want the night light but have had issues with matter in home assistant. Also prefer not to use wifi. Wish they had a zigbee version I could buy. Also worried they’ll move their sensors to matter over thread instead of sticking with zigbee. Long term I will want thread, but it isn’t there yet
They do have a Zigbee version
@@makeitworktech It’s not available on Amazon in Canada at least
Aaron,
Please, please, please stop saying "Alexa" without altering the audio. Every time you say that, my device wakes up.
My bad! I forgot to bleep it 😂
