I'm not sure what I'm impressed with more: the technical ability (that COMPOSITING is killer... how often do you hear that?!), the cinematic decision making, the texture and lighting artistry, the dramatic/comedic adaptation of actual game mechanics into the action beats. Your stuff has a Lord & Miller like way of communicating what is great about WoW without bogging down into ponderous lore or references. Yes, there is a lot there, and tons of details, but its layered and self supporting, not just quantity and chaos.
This dude deserves some EXTREME hardware upgrades. Lend him a supercomputer, to render. Imagine the content, with his skill and eye for detail etc.... 100/10.

V Irsku dokud se tam nenasrali jako levná prac. síla Češi, Poláci a Slováci, tak tam lidi ani nezamykali domy. V Německu mají podchod s cedulí pozor Češi a je tam obrázek kapsáře. A zlatý ručičky už nemáme dávno. Takže asi tak.

Man, you're blowing my mind every single time. Your work with particles and destruction is insane. I'm just curious, how do you choose if you want to key out a 2D character or actually render them? I noticed that 2D ones lack motion blur (and are obviously faster to render out), is the blur or the render time the reason? Great fucking work, I'm absolutely loving it. p.s. Please render 4k versions of some frames (upscale them if you must) and release a wallpapers pack. Literally every single frame can be used as a wallpaper and I'm sure tons of people will appreciate it!
@@Magictrickslol The ones with color backgrounds are probably straight up from wowmodelviewer. Pros: faster render time and easier to work with. Cons: no additional shadows from the scene, would look flat from the wrong angle. :)
@iesdi is correct. It all depends on angles and distance from camera. I never used 3D characters unless I have to. (it's too much work polishing them after the export from Model Viewer)
The 2D model viewer characters are great if it's in the background and/or if the perspective doesn't change too much. This way C4D only has to render a plane with 4 verices, while the 3D models has at least hundreds of vertices with multiple texutres. Overall faster render and better viewport performance.
People quickly forget that in videogames or videos everything is animated. You need to animate every single character and every single action. They don't just move like we humans :)
The trailers were epic and all but when I realized how you made this it gave me chills. Obviously I have no idea of what it actually takes, but I can guess and then dial that guess up by x100.
It was around 50 shots, each shot took like 3hrs to render in 1920x800 so if you'd render it in one stretch you'd end up with like 150hrs of render. But there was a lot of re-rendering so it adds up throughout the process.
@@Splntxx I have only i7-6700k GTX1080ti 64 GB RAM at home so that's what I used during the production but I used some of the machines at work (couple of threadrippers) for rendering at times. But like 95% of the work was done on my home computer.
Seeing these trailers are immense. The amount of work that goes in must be unreal. But then I see these breakdowns.... and it just completely blows my mind just how much actually goes into it and makes me appreciate every little bit. Wish I had this level of commitment in me hahaha.
The truth is that this video is something spectacular, the dedication, the work behind all the realization is impeccable and wonderful. After seeing all this I was totally in love with this whole edition. I am currently new to editing things from photoshop and after effects and I have already made some videos, even some friends recommended that I now start using cinema 4D and the truth is, all I want is to do several courses and studies to achieve this level of quality. That bit with the gate - I noticed little details like that before (etc. the gnome mage casting polymorph, one of the canine abominations hitting their head on the chandelier) and every time, it's delightful. 305 days is a loooooooot of dedication for a single project. Was a lot of that time setting up a new system of working, or would it take a similar amount of time for same-length videos in the future?
There's a LOT of grunt work involved. A lot of cleaning up and building worlds (not the fun part like making explosions and magic spells)... all that could be much easier if I had some technical support/scripts/pipeline techniques but as I am a one man I have to do everything myself which makes the world considerably longer.
This is top notch! Just as a cuiriosity, since i want to get into fluid simulation soon too, how much did the smoke/fire sims take in terms of render time and what hardware did ya use? ( since i imagine you have access to some render farms )
Liquid/smoke sims are very easy nowadays with all those GTX and RTX cards which offer great support and speeds. Otoy just released EmberGenFX which makes all these fire/smoke cool sims REALTIME. You don't have to simulate it, you don't have to render it... it runs in a window realtime - me and my coworkers were standing there being like "wtf?". So yeah one RTX2080ti should cover all your needs! (weird huh? no more farms)

I was wondering the same thing. Some I couldn't tell if they were fully rendered out or not.
