06:38 - AH! So that's where the awesome theme for the Konami logo on 'Metal Gear Solid' came from!! :3 Glad to know meeting Otacon wasn't the only 'Policenauts' reference here.
The Sega Saturn has a higher quality sound processor than the PlayStation, in-fact the Saturn is overall a more powerful console in several areas but a lazy developer isn't going to put the effort in o harness it when they can easily use the PlayStation as the cheap mass market basis of a multiport project because their company wants the game done faster.
Not all the footage is from the Saturn versions of these games and some of the actual Saturn footage is recorded from an emulator suffering from slow down, good collection either way.
Thunderforce V: Perfect Storm for the ps2 under the spaz/working design label, I did that contest years back that they held, I was in the top 6 of that contest, I knew that game inside and out, We had to tape it on tape then they reviewed it. #1 score, I couldn't believe his score, I almost died. Great shooter but not my favorite but good.
I love these wonderful anime games of the 80's and 90's over everything on Sega Megadrive or CD and also Saturn and Dreamcast ^^ Man, there was some horny crap and I have only a fraction of it in my collection in a few minutes everything goes well Valis 1 to 4. 1 to 3 on the Megadrive and the 4 part Super Valis as Japan import on the SNES.
Great selections. Only missing Pretty Please Boogie from Clockwork Knight 2 and maybe Nash's or Adon's theme from SF Alpha 2 plus Wolverine or Omega Red's theme from Xmen COTA, or Gambit's, Rogue's, Cammy's, or Zangief's theme from XvsSF or Woverine's from MSH, or... ok I'll stop now.
22:00 Is this in-game or an arranged version? The lead guitar sounds very different in other uploads (for example: ua-cam.com/video/xawnFEnlk4E/v-deo.html)
I'd wager that your best bet is either trying to find some sort of development software that allows you to access the Saturn's sound chip, or, using 90s synthesizers such as the Sy77, Wavestation, JD800, JV1080 or Roland's M-OC1 (or the equivalent JV1080 expansion) for orchestral sounds, and so on; most of these have paid VST plugins available for use on personal computers. I say that because most music on the Saturn was actually redbook audio, meaning it was recorded just as any piece of music was at the time, on reel to reel tapes or, more likely ADAT, and many PS1 and Saturn soundtracks end up having the same sound, thus the Saturn's on-board synthesizer capabilities were seldom used; Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV and Panzer Dragoon Saga are two great examples of games that did, so these might be harder to recreate.
Used to have it on the Saturn, lost it a long time ago. Played it back in '98/''99 (multiple times) Then I played it again via an emulator circa 2010. Just as I remembered it. So yeah, don't be lazy.
I actually have Panzer Dragoon, Panzer Dragoon Zwei, Panzer Dragoon Saga on the Saturn and Panzer Dragoon Orta on the OG Xbox. I have loved the series sense 1995. Even bought Crimson Dragon on the Xbox One because it reminded me of Panzer Dragoon sorta.
I actually didn't know that. That's pretty cool. Unfortunately, I already own Panzer Dragoon 1 on the Saturn (though my Saturn itself was sadly destroyed due to circumstances beyond my control). I also own Orta. I was also fortunate enough to experience Zwei, which I rented and beat several times. Absolutely beautiful game, and a large regret of mine is that I don't own that one. Saga is the only one I haven't ever played. One day!
No Wily Stage 2 from Mega Man 8? :( It's only the best track from any Mega Man game and the Saturn version is way better than the PSX version. But yes, Super Sonic Racing is epic! xD
Holy moly, I forgot how ungodly amazing the Panzer Dragoon series ost was.
Thanks for the video
Is there any better music compilation of any kind on youtube right now?! oh my god this is amazing!! sega saturn is my favorite console of all time!
Mine too dude, mine too... Along with Dreamcast ;)
same
Get over yourself, looking at all these playlists objectively, this is one of the worst on the channel
I realize Im kind of randomly asking but do anybody know a good place to stream new tv shows online?
@Marley Elian Flixportal :D
Wow, DAT Guardian Heroes music!
Which one?
Rough and Ready
Shuffler in the Dark 1:07 epic sax
Roundabout
"Toki" Meki Saxophone
Notorious Don I like everything after 0:47
Bolero Finale
From Me to You (Setsu nai anata ni) Might be a little too Jpop for you but I love it.
There's a bunch more that are at least 8's.

I love the Saturn's music, it just sounds like good old 90's music
Hello spybionic, i love your music video idea by adding the gameplay with the soundtrack played along. I never get bored. Thank you!
That fateful night when Van Halen and old skool Ozzy collaborated and the SEGA International Victory Goal soundtrack was created.
Sega rally has great songs
I mean, just Panzer Dragoon and Virtual On alone...
Sega Saturn... que gran consola, no hace falta decir más.
that heir of zendor right at the end, gets me right in the feels...
The Sega Saturn was so Underrated.
19:42 That Rusty Ruins track is so damn good. Also, 51:34 makes my ears melt.
Richard jacques is like a half-god.
Rusty ruin for the win
For more precision, the Sonic R soundtrack was composed by the famous Richard Jacques. TJ Davis is the Singer. Nice set, good memories...
Fun Fact: the Sega Victory soccer game was composed by Jun (of Sonic Adventures series)
This video needs Night Strikers S as well! Great video though, i love game soundtracks especially for the Saturn!
90's sega CD games have the best VGM of all time period
Is that Metal Gear Solid? What? Oh it's Policenauts.
lmao
Policenauts aka future pervy lethal weapon.
Easily one of my favorite soundtracks of all time
I just imported Policenauts for Saturn and when the title music started playing, my mind was blown.
i never knew that metal gear solid intro sound was from policenauts lol
Damn....that Akira theme.....I love it!.....And....you guys saved the best for last huh? :)
Yes! You included Dragon Force!
wooow those day ay ya yay thank you for shinobi x big thanks from morocco
can't dream of a better last theme for your list
Крутая подборка, Автору огромное спасибо...
Definitely some good picks in here. Nice job!
Gosh! ... sega games have one of the best nostalgic sounds in games! 😅
Superior sound chip !!!! (Better also than the N64 and psx )
agreed
It had a superb sound chip. Unfortunately not many games made use of it. Most games streamed the audio off the cd. Shame really.
@Jacob Cole no they are not at all.

Wasn't the sound chip for Sega Saturn called the ymf-292
У меня мурашки по телу, когда я слушаю пепвый трек.
The best console...
1:50
43:46
47:05
Radiant Silvergun is my favorite music in saturn !!
BUUURNNINNNN RANNNGERRSS GOO! Now that track is fucking sick lol
I knew this was going to be a good list when Valgars song Rough & Ready was at Number 2!
25:54
...
Mr. Bones
OK Nice! Found Lorenzo's Soil on one of these lists. Didn't think about this version either as it is the superior track.
Panzer Dragoon 1 und 2 besitze ich selber in meiner Sammlung und das Für X Box Panzer Dragoon Orta mit das geilste was die Graphig an geht.
33:41 VAMOS ARGENTINA CARAJO!!
Sega music hit its peak here. The only other contenders are Sonic 3 & SoR 2.
Great selection
Not all the footage is from the Saturn versions of these games and some of the actual Saturn footage is recorded from an emulator suffering from slow down, good collection either way.
That policenauts track is cyberpunk at its finest
Track 26 (SF3) starts a minute sooner than in the playlist (45:36), just fyi.
Alianger fixed
Sadly your list didn't include either of the two Daytona USA games.
Pimpczar2011 fodaxw babak
@Fernando Paxeco:
STFU - or should I say XTFU? Since even your surname that should be written "paCHeco" has been replaced with an X.
YES!
Gr8t selection!
29:56 "Schicksal klopft an der Tür" ??
32:05 sounds like a sonic game...
That sonic beat Rusty Ruins is crazyyy, and I recognize that name, is the composer the same name as either Mass Effect or Headhunter?
I love these wonderful anime games of the 80's and 90's over everything on Sega Megadrive or CD and also Saturn and Dreamcast ^^ Man, there was some horny crap and I have only a fraction of it in my collection in a few minutes everything goes well Valis 1 to 4. 1 to 3 on the Megadrive and the 4 part Super Valis as Japan import on the SNES.

That Mr. Bones looks so wierd game, that AVGN might review it in future.
22:00 Is this in-game or an arranged version? The lead guitar sounds very different in other uploads (for example: ua-cam.com/video/xawnFEnlk4E/v-deo.html)
no songs from street fighter alpha 2 like the opening or ryus stage
12:01 is Stage 1, not the boss fight I think? Solid list though.
Alianger 12:54 Hong Kong Harbour ~ Boss Fight
Spybionic When I compared it to other uploads here on YT, it was different.
Shinobi x stage 1 and stage 7 boss music are missing
Panzer Dragoon Zwei, the best Saturn game.
That's Rusty Ruins Act 2, not 1.
Why does the first song soun exactly like Guardian Heroes OST? I'm guessing it's the same producers?
Holy Fak, Astal had good music!
none of the F1 Challenges BGM?? Badboy!
Thunder Force V ! ;)
i'm trying to make sega saturn music and I want to know what software or tools should i need to make music like these? (90s, saturn, 32 bit music)
there are probably better suited choices, but you should try MIDIs with Roland MT-32 for a close result.
@@kolibri5523 thanks for the information.

Sonic R instead of Daytona?
Incredible how an old sound chip had been this capable of sounding this good! Sad it was so shitty to program for the saturn
Cd audio. Cd’s hold music so WHY NOT PUT REDBOOK QUALITY AUDIO?
Oooooo... I'm missing the Bulk Slash songs... :(
John Petrucci Necronomicon
Grandia?
The Horde
What, no SCUD????
Still, good mix
Panzer Dragoon Saga.
Will I ever get to play this supposed masterpiece?
Will any of us?
7Zealot Thank God I still have my copy from back at launch Panzer Dragoon Saga is one of the greatest game's ever!
Used to have it on the Saturn, lost it a long time ago. Played it back in '98/''99 (multiple times)
Then I played it again via an emulator circa 2010. Just as I remembered it. So yeah, don't be lazy.

Saga is the only one I haven't ever played. One day!
7Zealot Panzer Dragoon Saga is one of my favorite games of all-time it was great from start to finish.
Burning rangers: Burning Hearts > Ship to take off. No contest
No grandia, though, I guess you didn't count it for being multiplat.
No scorcher 🧐
No Wily Stage 2 from Mega Man 8? :( It's only the best track from any Mega Man game and the Saturn version is way better than the PSX version. But yes, Super Sonic Racing is epic! xD
ahem, no Rayman?
no "Black Cat Moon" = Fail ....lol
Sonic R? Malcolm in the middle
Why is everything in this list so fucking loud??
No Dark Savior wtf. Shame on you
The genuine disappointment in this comment made me chuckle
Too bad Megaman X3 on the saturan wasn't very good.
48:45 You can really see how badly the controller is programed. Looks like a hard game to even play
Megaman X3 sounds better on the SNES....
Tsk Tsk, No Psylocke's theme from Xmen children of the atom
Nor any Daytona USA.
