Absolutely the best thing to happen for real life training. Like a real shootout except you live to learn what you did right and what you did wrong. Unlike that junk MILES gear we'd use in the Army, there's no arguing about if you "really were hit," the paint doesn't lie, and just painful enough to keep one from getting lackadaisical simply because it's "only" training. Yeah, they hurt, but I always made a mental note that each hit would have been a wrap for me if it was the real thing. Those 5.56 were nasty. But imagine a real deal 5.56 ball round tumbling inside you.

Around a half dozen people I graduated high school with are now LEO’s. They were all good dudes and I was friendly or good friends with all of them. I’m happy to now see kids I grew up with enforcing the community I live in.
The paintball gun idea is a good one, using paintball guns or airsoft guns to train for all cops would give them experience that could help save their own lives.
On our team we use "simmunition" rounds out of our actual duty rifles. We remove the bolt and replace it with the simmunition bolt and use our standard AR magazines, so we are training with paint rounds, but using our duty rifles instead of a paintball gun or anything like that

This video definitely changed my opinion on SWAT completely! I've been wanting to be a part of SWAT for like 5 years now, and yes this sounds like a lot of fun but when it comes down to the wire only a few will get past nerves and go into action.

Your stories of swat enemy force remind me of my time doing the same in the infantry, best tasking I have ever had and would love to do that stuff full time. SWAT is no joke is VERY true. I was the SWAT commander when we lost two SWAT officers in a single operation and drove a brand new widow to the hospital, and back home, so she could be w/her husband one last time.

Simunition is an awesome training exercise to use. I believe civilians should also train with it, if they want to carry concealed (this coming from IL). anyone wanting to carry should continually train, train, and train some more! Awesome stories, Officer401
Check engines lights often don't matter. They can be caused by something not so serious such as leaving your engine on while filling the gas tank. If the check engine light is blinking, that is when you should be very concerned.
I am dead set on SWAT. I have done some training with my police explorer post along with the SWAT team and I had a blast. Its hard work though. Anyway great video, anything you got on SWAT I would love to hear it.
Illyrian King ESU is full time but are usually called to situations, but the officers deployed through out the city and the subways are on "Striker" positions, they are apart of the new CRC or CRV units which deal with counter terrorism.
lol, a few of my friends are in SWAT they were called out to Walmart, a man with a gun call and on route got a possible active shooter call, upon arrival the manager is announcing over the PA "due to... please exit the building...", now their obviously in full tac gear ARs and MP5s at the ready telling people drop your shit and get out! Wouldn't you know some people were asking if they could wait to pay having already been waiting in line while others are asking if they could get one more item! Freaking amazing! DTV i dont agree with that. A main skill needed in the military and normally is to be able to aim with both eyes open. It give you a wider field of view, faster time to get sights lined up
I know an officer on the swat team they were doing building sweeps and bean bag training a fellow officer shot him in the back with the bean bag round as they were leaving to go home,he considered shooting him. Later on the same friend was serving a warrant him and a fellow officer was doing the break and rake, the window is a good four feet higher than they are so he shatters the window and the other guy drops in a flash bang,well unfortunately there is a bed directly below the window and the bang goes off and it catches the bed on fire.

Paint ball guns are a blast. We use to play paint ball back in like 2000 in the grassy woods or at an old farm with lots of junk. I was the only one (cause I was a cheap ass) that had a single shot pump $19 plastic pos from Walmart while everyone else had high dollar semi auto with large hoppers and large screw on CO2 tanks. I eventually found them as easy targets as they seemed fearless with theirs as they could spray paint balls everywhere but they couldn’t aim for shit while I’m out there with 3 small co2 cartridges and maybe 25 rounds at most, I could peck out an entire group slowly one by one. Well one day I thought I got the whole group and was proudly walking back in the open when I all of the sudden started feeling paint balls just pounding my back. I missed one of them. Lessen learned, don’t get to cocky. Even though it was a game we played as kids, there was a lot to learn from it.

I'm an explorer and for some of our training we use sim rounds. Last weekend some of us where role players for newbie SRT officers. It was the most fun I've had in the longest time. I still have bruises
My local sheriff's office is unique in the fact that it allows you to go out for SWAT (they call it special response team or SRT) the second you get off FTO.
My friend was related to that man who tried suicide by police that im pretty sure that you were talking about, and thank you for your service, because of you, i have finally made the decision to join the police force. I am only 14 but i know that if I start training myself now, i can become the best police/swat officewr that i can be.
i think its as long as its not like obscene explicit music blaring with the windows down, or with that said, it does not interfere with you hearing your radio for calls for service or other units on the net.
I got pulled over once by 2 patrol cars ( it was late at night), One of my signal lights were out. 2 officers from one car came up to the car and did the typical license and registration. When they came back and handed me my documents the other 2 cops in the 2nd car went on the PA and started blasting music. I think it was taylor swift playing on the radio lol. The cops that walked up to my car were shaking their head the entire time the music was playing lol.

i think its as long as its not like obscene explicit music blaring with the windows down, or with that said, it does not interfere with you hearing your radio for calls for service or other units on the net.
If you have never seen the vid of the cop singing Taylor Swift in his patrol car, I recommend it.
I got pulled over once by 2 patrol cars ( it was late at night), One of my signal lights were out. 2 officers from one car came up to the car and did the typical license and registration. When they came back and handed me my documents the other 2 cops in the 2nd car went on the PA and started blasting music. I think it was taylor swift playing on the radio lol. The cops that walked up to my car were shaking their head the entire time the music was playing lol.
You can always tell when someone is a great story teller, my boss is a former Sheriff Deputy and has some great stories.... LOL
