  • How to repair soft close trunk latch actuator drive for Mercedes-Benz E-Class W212 2009 - 2016 year estate models. This is kinda common issue, on my previous W212 I had also this fault but the actuator drive was completely fine, somehow the wire had come loose and it was only to put it back and it worked fine again.
So you could open and check before you order this part, is also possible to change the actual motor inside the drive, but I could not locate the part for it. If you know where to find it let me know. The motor inside is almost the same as the ELV motor for ignition.
I did get this part sponsored from atracco.se (Uppsala) they sell used car parts.

Great video, thanks for sharing! Though I have an x166 body style MB, instructions you have provided should work as well.

I have loved mercedes benz. since i was 11 years old and didn't know a thing about the history or legacy of mercedes benz. Of course there were a few others i liked such as audi and bmw at some point, but i see why mercedes benz are the best. If you have new or recent parts your car should be fine no matter what. Neglect it and you get what comes with that. Every part has a lifespan. Keeping up with that and especially following the manual will serve you well. I had a 2001 c320 bought in 08. l learned later on it had been in a accident. It drove okay but It had it's quirks. I had it for 11 years before giving it away. I got a real education on Mercedes Benz from this car. They are easy to diagnos and fix by someone who knows what they are doing. If it has some age some parts will fail successively. Mainly sensors but that's what they do, they last a certain amount of time. But we know that.

How many times have I had to remove the tailgate trim! for the camera, for changing the reversing lamps (led), for the led license plate lights, to see how it held up... You do it with dexterity and experience, like a pro!

Yah haha tailgate trim and the front wheel house covers kinda bother me when I need to redo video of it another time 😂 So this time I just took camera in hand and was ok it is what it is, and actually the total time from start recording to stop with all steps done was 20 minutes ~ But I could not use all footages that’s this video was so short!

@@MB212 You manage, very good format because not too long and each important step is on the screen; You master video editing, in addition to repairs on the W212. Do not change anything !

Hi, if my boot is closed - how do I open it in the first instance… is there a release mechanism somewhere? Then I can follow the instructions. Thanks

Thanks : ) When I bought my first W212 few years ago I also searched video how to do things at the car but realized is was not so much out and many videos missing the important parts. So I started to read online and where to find workshop manuals etc and then I just try to make it as professional as possible as it should be done at mb workshop. So I learn as I go, but I do spend enormous with time to find info and learn new things.

Hmm. I can hear my motor running and it sounds like the gears are turning but it won't open? I can open it by hand and close it fine with power button but cannot open with power button.
