My parents had those exact some canisters on the sideboard. They are made of tin w/ black lettering and black tops and yellow painted sides. Perfect for a middle class kitchen in the 60/70s but not a rich family`s dining room.
If I was Carolyn when willy was demanding me to pour him some brandy I would have taken the brandy decanter and hit him over the head with it then tell him there enjoy your brandy!!
tapeduk Two very different Willies. Interestingly, while John Karlen was bigger and all around tougher looking, James Hall WAS intimidating in this role. But I wonder why the change was made.
Vicky and Carolyn are wondering why Mrs. Collins dowtows to Jason when they are no better, allowing this idiot to give them orders and psychologically push them around
What a coward Roger is..leaving Carolyn and Victoria at the hands of this thug! But it is all going to change soon. hee hee ! And if I'm not mistaken, there was a show called "Where the ACTION is". ...and Carolyn 'knows' where the action is ! LOL
tapeduk I wonder if the producers and writers used this as a filler as they attempted to figure out which supernatural story line they could come up with after Laura. Or was this a segue into the already anticipated Barnabas character?
+atlantic 11561 I think the creators had an idea of finding a character who would be to Barnabas what Renfield was to Dracula, but I don't like the way the Willie character was handled in these episodes. First of all, the actor cast was bad & it's just not believable that this Willie-guy would be associated with Jason in any way. I know Jason is obviously blackmailing Liz, but, logically, I think Liz would put her foot down on letting Willie stay at Collinwood, especially when she finds out what a creep he is.
Thomas Leary Hmmm, I could see Jason and Willie as friends, as both had unsavory backgrounds. Remember that the original Willie was just as nasty (if not more so) as Jason. When John Karlen was hired for the role of Willie, I think what the producers had in mind was more of an impressionable and not so smart "kid" who allows the older and more polished Jason to dominate him. As for Liz, well, she did adamantly refuse to allow Willie to stay at Collinwood at first, but hey, Jason kept laying the blackmail tactic on about her supposedly murdered husband. Liz could ill afford to reveal her "crime", and even more, to risk losing the love of Carolyn.
I like Liz, and I feel sorry for her, but if I were the others, I would have forced her hand. They all should have left Collinwood so that she would be alone with Jason and Willie, and not returned until she came clean with the story.
That's what I was thinking but it may not be fair to blame him. His last episode is the next one. I was hoping he would stick around so Barnabas can teach him a lesson... then bring on John Karlen.
They really did. 100%. And perfectly cast I may add but I love what John Karlen brings to the character since there is no creep factor, but a sniveling scared "rhenfield" type.
And these girls just let that bum order them around? It's crazy! They capitulate unnecessarily as if they have no dignity and zero agency, they give women a bad name.
*SPOILER ALERT * Many of the comments below contain information about the future of several characters that most people would not want to know ahead of time.
Mai Taniyama Damn, they could have even used Laura! Jason and Willy are so intrusive and offensive, that they would not have lasted long with her around!
atlantic 11561 I'm now in the mid 300s and I think Willy isn't so bad. And Laura is only the tip of the iceberg, she is the weakest in comparison to the monsters that are to come.
I do not like this Willie Loomis. James hall is a good actor, I didn't know there were 2 different Willie's. James's Willie and Johns. he would have been good playing a role in the Outsiders.
My parents had those exact some canisters on the sideboard. They are made of tin w/ black lettering and black tops and yellow painted sides. Perfect for a middle class kitchen in the 60/70s but not a rich family`s dining room.
Thank you for posting! My all-time favorite show!
Thank you so much!! This is my favorite channel on youtube!!
Willie Loomis sure is a smoooooth talker. LOL The kind of guy who makes a girl want to take a shower every time he looks at her.
Well put.
Willie: "I want to find out where the action is."
Carolyn: "It used to air right after us, but I don't know where ABC moved it to."
LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLlll!!!!
If I was Carolyn when willy was demanding me to pour him some brandy I would have taken the brandy decanter and hit him over the head with it then tell him there enjoy your brandy!!
Carolyn has more guts than Vicky.
James Hall-the first Willie Loomis-who appeared in 5 episodes then was replaced by John Karlen

Vicky and Carolyn are wondering why Mrs. Collins dowtows to Jason when they are no better, allowing this idiot to give them orders and psychologically push them around
Miel Mani The two younger women practically idolize Liz, so if she is intimidated, then they automatically follow suit.

Ugh. I know they're afraid of him, but this is sickening watching them be nice to this jerk.
This is one of my favorite DS episodes--they don't have to be supernaturally-themed to be entertaining

It would be a cold day in hell before I would get coffee or take orders from this Willie. 😡
finally...the portrait of barnabas collins shows up on the wall during the ending credits
Wow, so it is. Good eye!
Oh my gosh, you're right. So Frid has a contract with Dan Curtis Production for something like 12 episodes.
Where's Josette when you need her? "hello Willie, do you like my shroud?"
I like Liz, and I feel sorry for her, but if I were the others, I would have forced her hand. They all should have left Collinwood so that she would be alone with Jason and Willie, and not returned until she came clean with the story.
Is that a new song I hear playing on the jukebox?? Time to get my groove on!
I think the song was "Someone"
No, it was a really cool version of Ebb Tide trying to sound like the 1953 Frank Chatsfield hit recording.
That sweet flute music seems to be reserved for Carolyn (1).
I wish Vicky would just shut up and let Burke beat the pulp out of him.
I don't understand why Vicky won't let Burke put that weasel in his place because he owe right on intimidating Carolyn.
Paging Barnabas! I think you're needed at Collinwood!
The actor playing Willy Loomis does a great job of conveying that awkward, disturbing creepiness.
wait till you see JohnKarlin, he does a much better job than James does.
teehee!
Take 3? I wonder who is costing them this money?
I wonder if James Hall caused the need for extra takes. He was replaced shortly after this
That's what I was thinking but it may not be fair to blame him. His last episode is the next one. I was hoping he would stick around so Barnabas can teach him a lesson... then bring on John Karlen.
12:25 need more of that today!
People may knock this show for various reasons, but who ever wrote willies part really put the creep factor to it as did the actor.
They really did. 100%. And perfectly cast I may add but I love what John Karlen brings to the character since there is no creep factor, but a sniveling scared "rhenfield" type.
I thought Jason was bad, but Willie makes Jason seem like Don Juan.
too bad the ghost of matthew morgan or any other of the dearly departed didn't entice jason to take a header off widows hill.
Yeah, this wouldn't go down on Bill Malloy's watch and where's Josette when you need her>
Where the hell are the house ghosts when you need them? And where is Barnabas? Surely we could sacrifice those two creeps as food for Barnabas?
The announcer seemed miffed that he had to state the episode info for the third time.
TAKE 3? Must have REALLY screwed up to have to go to take 3.
They need to get rid of this Willie. He messes everything up.
This D/A would already be dead if he was in my house - incredible
And these girls just let that bum order them around? It's crazy! They capitulate unnecessarily as if they have no dignity and zero agency, they give women a bad name.
Get your own damn breakfast! 👊🏼
i love that she exercised her 2nd amendment rights!
He backed away didn't he. Now to get them out of the house!
Now willie knows how to treat a woman.
Think these girls need a 'safe space'?
The casting director must have been smoking something other than cigarettes when they cast this guy as Willie !👎👎👎👎👎👎
*SPOILER ALERT * Many of the comments below contain information about the future of several characters that most people would not want to know ahead of time.
Where's Josette when you need her? Appear along with the three widows and give Willie a heart attack.
Mai Taniyama Well, he is in a lot better shape than Matthew was!
Mai Taniyama I tend to agree. Others on this site claim that she was the strongest, but in the end, Angelique got the better of her.
atlantic 11561 Angelique is probably the strongest. I mean, Laura is nothing in comparison to Barnabas.
I do not like this Willie Loomis. James hall is a good actor, I didn't know there were 2 different Willie's. James's Willie and Johns. he would have been good playing a role in the Outsiders.
Come to think of it, he would.
creep!
