- (1967) Maggie releases that the paintings were sold to Roger. Elizabeth stops Roger from gaining access to the locked room in the basement. Jason blackmails Elizabeth for money.

There couldn't have been a better actor than Louis Edmonds to play Roger Collins. He's pompous, proud, and so fun to watch!

Jason needs to be taken on a one way fishing trip. Liz doesn't have much extra cash these days anyhow. She locked a lot of it away in David's trust fund which is untouchable.

The characters of Burke Devlin and Jason McGwire clearly illustrate the contempt felt by the working class Irish toward the privileged WASPs in New England. Any chance they can get to bring them down will be utilized.
I love how when ever Roger misbehaves Liz threatens to kick him out. Too funny.
Rodger is a bit like a badly behaved child sometimes and it is like Elizabeth is his mother

I usually don't like the Sam and Maggie scenes very much but they were totally on their game on this one. Terrific writing and brilliantly acted and let's not forget the great directing!
They should have called this show "I've Got a Secret!"

If Liz is so worried about Roger wanting to go in there then why doesn't she just go in there herself & take a look for them? That way if they're in there she can lie & say she found them somewhere else in the house & be done with it; problem solved.
Jason has some balls, talking on the phone about his plans out in the open where anyone could hear him. Where's snoopy Mrs. Johnson when you need her? Then he has the nerve to offer Liz some of her own liquor! If she gives this guy money once, she's done. You give in once & they will hang on until they bleed you dry. This guy is so dreadful he's actually making me root for Roger. I never thought that would happen! XD
One last thought; I have this nagging feeling that this art dealer isn't on the up & up. I have a feeling that she doesn't want the paintings for an art show at all. I guess time will tell.
Roger should have told Liz that he'd wait by the door to the basement to keep anyone from going down there while she unlocked the door and looked inside for the paintings. But, they just don't do things the easy way on Dark Shadows. Poor Liz. Poor Roger. Poor Sam. Poor Maggie. Such a sad bunch.
The show should be renamed Secrets And Liars!

As a therapist maggie is acting just like any child of an alcoholic they become either spouse or parent and feel very responsible for the alcoholic parent giving up their own lives to making excuses for them. She's an enabler.
Sam's not an alcoholic..Alcoholics have to go to those meetings.
Maybe they should each share their secrets since they both have the kind of secrets that could sent them both to prison....come on liz, tell him that paul is in there roget didnt like him anyway and roger be honest with liz that you killed that poor feller ten yrs ago and sent burke to prison..hehehehhe
The most annoying character in this sitcom is "Trask" I could just jump through the screen and slap him silly. ugg he makes me want to scream, Shut the hell up lol
