needed more first party exclusives, too many games no one cared about, only had a few games of interest. needed big time games .
C. Spiderman was a given. The showcase had nearly 0 surprises and the CGI teasers didn't really portray the games well imo
I rate it a S....as in Still not getting a PS5
I noticed during the show that Sony did not put 'Exclusive', on any of the titles, and thought that was odd, until I saw the Xbox tweet and realised it was to hide the fact most titles shown were Multiplat...I'll give Sony credit, that was clever of them, by not specifying what titles were exclusives they made all titles look exclusive.
Media sites did not look good today, specially the likes of IGN, Games Radar and one other that disputed the show being not good, and you know it's a bad show, when the Sony fanboys are talking about it being bad. They were openly accepting the L on this one, something they refuse to do.
I think that is the idea. You don't point out it is exclusive just make people believe it is.
I just hope most of these sites get shut down

@@thetrashcanman7537 we actually don't. I'm still waiting for Bloodborne and the New horizon and many others Sony exclusive games to come out on PC. There's not a single Microsoft game coming out on PC that I'm looking for because they don't have any games boss. Stop trying to make the two equivalent. Sony absolutely destroys Microsoft when it comes to games and I'm a Microsoft fanboy saying that. I've owned every Xbox except for the series versions and have always been jealous of the much better games that come out on PlayStation. Name a game equivalent to horizon zero Dawn that is an Xbox exclusive. I will wait. Bloodborne. I will wait. God of war. I will wait. At best they got Forza and that's really it. Most of the modern Halo games are laughable to me and gears got old to me very quickly. They just don't have anything meanwhile they are sitting on a bunch of spectacular IPs that haven't had new games in a long time. They are just an incompetent company ran by people who are clearly not gamers.
Me as gamer is very grateful that Sony gave me a multiplat showcase. 😎

Jim tried to mock Xbox...during is interview a couple weeks ago, Phil said "games that will surprise and delight"...then Jim told the exact same sentence during the showcase, like they were the ones who can surprise and delight their fans! Well Jim, you should've back that up with actual surprise and delight!
Xbox could stand to be a little more aggressive with their marketing and tweets, but I also like their super chill attitude when they congratulate their competitors for their successes. No reason they couldn't do both though.

I wonder if this changes what is going to be shown at Xbox's show. I know they tend to finalise early on what games to talk about but the more games they can show from 1st party the better.
You got to remember though, Microsoft has 2 events so if they don’t show Perfect Dark for example, they gonna show it the next day with the showcase telling the update on game’s previously announced. They did this last time and they will do it again. Microsoft is in a great position to win the showcase. YES we need great competition! Like Kraven from Spiderman 2 said, “I am looking for someone that could beat me.” Just imagine Microsoft doing just that against Sony, which will force Sony’s hands 🙌 to do more and better.

@@alphaj9 LOL Microsoft will have a strong showcase because they have to this time. Phil Spencer already stated that all those games including Perfect Dark will be in the 2 day showcase. Microsoft this going to turn itself around Fall 2023 and 2024 which is the true year for Series X to strike back. We need good competition so innovation is forced on both companies to do better and better!

I think it was smart for the team at Xbox to release that tweet to let everybody know those games were also coming to Xbox. Sony tried to make it look like those games were only coming to PS5. So Xbox had to let people know. Not a low blow. Just lettin' the masses know.

Xbox has to post that. I left watching the PS Showcase as a gaming fan who owns an Xbox and im like did Sony just buy all these games to be console exclusive. I was seriously worried and then this just releaved me and im sure a ton of others.
I just hope Xbox has a FANTASTIC show! Hell even if the games are a little ways out just give us a good sign of the great games to come.

When Xbox does a showcase like this “it’s trash” or “xbox has no games” but when Playstation or Nintendo do a showcase like this “it’s mid” or “there’s only one game that matters.” How do people not see the bias there?

To be fair sony often have great showcases. With alot of first party and gameplay.. + it has been a while.. and people are giving sony a hard time. So dont get it twisted. But we all know that sonys first party studios where missing here. So ofc everyone is confused. Are they going to show their game at another show this summer or do we have to wait for next year..

I like that the tweet could be read as them clarifying that those games are also coming to xbox as well as a shot to Sonys' showcase. They must be feeling pretty good about their showcase and I hope it delivers. Chance for them to really gain some traction for the 2nd half of 2023.
the more bias they get for the playstation the more followers they attract, I was monitoring them since xbox one. gamespot, kotaku, gamesradar, polygon, game informer and more, and they actually did a successful job harming xbox.

My pet peeve: Publisher releases a trailer for Game, lists all platforms. Xbox and Sony release the same trailer but only listing their platform. Media all share the Playstation only trailer instead of the publisher trailer, so it seems like an exclusive game when it isn't.

The showcase kind of reminded me of something that would be for the Xbox one last gen.
Would not say that there was some positives the first is they came out first meaning if xbox shows any of these again then it will be old news. It may not have hit well for the die hards but for the casuals it was a win. There was something for everyone and they still have summer game fest to show more titles if xbox actually shows up at their showcase.
I was disappointed more than anything about the Playstation Showcase.

The PS5 has around 20 million more units sold than the Series X, this year Series X was down 30% in terms unit sales and Microsoft now want their Xbox titles to be on G-FORCE NOW and Boosteroid because games barely sells on Xbox consoles. Sonys main game platform has been PlayStation since 1994 and it still is in 2023 while Microsoft is treating their console players as second class citizens. Microsoft’s strategy is a sign of desperation to grow a bigger player base and not because they “care” about the gaming community. Even Phil Spencer himself said on Xcast that it’s a struggle to be at third place every generation.

Judging from the lack of release info I am guess that 2024 is going to be a dry year for Sony. This may be why they are worried on the ABK deal because this is where XBox can gain ground on market share during 2024. We'll have to wait and see what the near future State of Play looks like.
2023 also cause they have ZERO release dates for a game halfway in 2023

Metal Gear Solid 3 is actually the first story in tge Metal Gear cannon storyline.
MGS3 is the origin story of Big Boss the original Snake who later becomes Big Boss the main antagonist of the Metal Gear storyline.
Show was a definite D. It really feels like all the delays XBox had in 2022 is now similarly catching up to Playstation

Alan wake 2 is so big it's got its own live show in June with world premiere gameplay and a q and a with remedy and the voice actors. You can book tickets from their official page.. and that metal gear solid collection is also on the switch although volume 2 will be the doozy as it includes a game exclusive to the switch collection, the twin snakes.

If it wasn’t for Spider-Man 2, this would’ve been a 1.5/5. I wanted a roadmap of what I could expect over the next 2 years.
One thing people are missing is that every PS VR two game that was shown as a first party PlayStation five only game. Not saying that makes up for the lack of regular games but technically there were a lot of first party games that very few will play as they don’t have PS VR two.
